UFC 81: Minotauro Nogueira, Tim Sylvia, Frank Mir and Chris Lytle pocket fight bonuses

In addition to their base salaries, which we will pass along most likely tomorrow, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Tim Sylvia, Frank Mir and Chris Lytle earned $60,000 each in bonus money for their performances at UFC 81: "Breaking Point" last night.
Here's the breakdown:
Fight of the Night: Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Tim Sylvia
Knockout of the Night: Chris Lytle
Submission of the Night: Frank Mir
Most retarded of the night went to Kyle Bradley, who almost took on the referee after the fight had been stopped because Lytle beat him senseless.
He gets nothing extra other than a headache and a bruised ego.
The $60,000 award is the most Zuffa has ever doled out to date in terms of bonus pay. For all of the latest UFC 81 results coverage click here and here.

Maybe that’s what they’re using the extra $5 from PPV revenues for. $55, jeez!

So Tyson Griffin loses “Fight of the Night” to Tim Sylvia?

Ooh – I think Fight of the Night should have went to Chris Lytle. I really like Lytle, and think if he keeps this “new method” up – he could be a contender in Welterweight.
I’m glad Yves Lavinge didn’t get elbowed in the face by dude.

…and Mir needs to work on his “strut.” He looked like he had practiced his G-Walk the night before, but just couldn’t get it together on his way to the octagon.

SUB of the night I think is tough to choose between Almieda’s and Mir’s.

I think KO should have easily gone to Boetch!!! that was crazy how he stepped in and dismissed Heath!

Damn right. The dude has serious skills, Heath never got a second to breath because Boetsch was constantly throwing something at him.

agreed. i felt that fight should have gotten fight of the night. the end where he threw Heath into the cage and then beat on him was amazing. Welcome to the UFC Boetch. hell i thought that fight was a lot better than Nog vs Silvia.

I like Boetsch he may well be my new fav. What a toss and That could have been the ko of the night too. The guy was out on all fours.
It was BS how Lesnar got stood up and the point deducted. Really though dont turn your back when your getting your face beat in DEFEND.
I was happy with Mir winning though and think Lesnar needs to be a bit more Methodical.
I give the whole night a 8/10.
Big nog is just a tough as nails guy.
Hmmmm… I wonder what the next matchups will be in the HW Division.
Brock vs Cro-cop
Nog vs Werdum
Mir vs Kongo
Gonzaga vs Herring
Arlovski vs Boetsch
Can you imagine if Randy could negotiate a contract to fight NOG and tie it in with an obligatory $$$ the ufc could throw out to Fedor. Really though Randy vs Nog would be interesting and Randy would win via Decision.
Its just gotta force the UFC to open its wallet, too bad the UFC wouldnt make a PPV that was a Charity Donation ( They could have done it for Hurricane Katrina) what a shot in the arm for the organization that would be… You dont see the NHL/NBA or any other big multi-million dollar sport. And each fighter could fight for thier charity… What an opportunity. Just make sure the $$$ taken in covers the cost of the show and the rest goes to a super huge relief fund.
Could you imagine it… It would be a bunch of the middle of the road guys that you want to put into it from the ufcs stand point so it doesnt kill other ppvs down the road.

He just flung him onto his head, lol. I don’t know why heath just stayed on all fours and didn’t cover up. I though maybe he snapped his neck.

They were saying the Boetsch was a wrestler. Well, he sure looked like a great striker to me with nice knees and kicks. I can’t believe he’s 27, he looks really old. I’d like to see him vs the winner of Alexander and Irvin.

So Tyson Griffin loses “Fight of the Night” to Tim Sylvia?
Tyson Griffin should have won “worst fight of the night.” That fight was awful. I thought it was a really bad omen for the rest of the night but things ended up turning out pretty well.

Boetsch should have gotten the ko of the night with that throw. I laughed so hard after i rewatched it.

I agree, Boetch all the way, especially since he was brought in on short notice to give Heath (the supposed slugger) a win vs. an easy target. I disagree with Lytle winning KO of the night. Who did he KO? I would have been surprised if he didn’t KO Bradley. It was a mismatch.
