I think Charles McCarthy is going to come out winning the fight decisively in round one. Then he will go to his corner and look at the crowd and start to ponder the philosophical reasons for this fight to be taking place. At that point he’s going to come out daydreaming about why he exists and get KTFO.

I see Bisping continues to fight the elite among the UFc

This is a terrible addition to this already weak card. If Dana is serious about this being the biggest UFC to date then lets see some star power matches. I don’t care for Bisping but at least put him in there against a respectable fighter for his first test at MW. McCarthy isn’t much in terms of competition…he’s just a card filler with a little bit of name recognition from TUF. This card needs a serious #2 match cause Franklin/Lutter just doesn’t cut it. The main event is going to be crazy but the rest of the card lacks any real excitement and none of the fights have any serious implications on their respected divisions.

He seems to enjoy being hand fed.

Wow…nothing like giving Bisping a cupcake fight. I’m not one to overly dislike a fighter simply because of what they do and how they compete but…Man…I really can’t stand him. Why does Dana have such a crush on this guy!!?? Ahhhhhh…this fight totally annoys me! I hope McCarthy shocks the land of make believe and knocks Bisping out cold.

Joe Rogan: “They had to make special gloves for this freak.”
That’s crazy. Lesnar had to get special gloves.

Man, they are really pulling out the cream of the crop to prove Bisping is a great fighter. I can’t wait to see this match up. C’mon UFC- ~pleassse

Is it just me or does Bisping actually look thinner, especially in the face. I didn’t think he would look any different. I thought he might lose about 5 pounds and the rest in water for the weigh in.

You can’t blame Dana for giving Bisping cans. It builds the fan base in the UK.

I am upset that Shogun wont be coming to Canada. And now a I am pissed that one of the main card fights will be this fight..Not that I wont enjoy seeing Bisping live, I am mad that they didn’t give him Leban or maybe even Cote..This fight would be better suited as a preliminary bout..

I hope the UFC send some elite-ufc fighters here…
Im going regardless, but I was hoping to see more then a couple top10 fighters on this card..
I would love to see some ex-PrideFC fighters, fore I am(was) a diehard PrideFC fan….
Maybe they could send Cro Cop here and have him fight Vera…Now that would be AWESOME!!!

i agree…and i wonder why is charles still in the ufc,,,but he is fighting bisping is dana wants all the winners of his show to b huge stars bisping may stil make it bit i will tell ya rashad is about as over-rated as it gets the best fighter he beat was a real 185pound fighter in bisping and dont say tito cause tito won but the ufc stole that fight from him

by MINNESOTAFATS on Feb 1, 2008 11:05 PM EST reply actions

Bisping is a d*ck but unfortuntley he is the most mainstream fighter that has come from the UK so far. Any event that he is participating in is advertised more than the main fight for the event even if it is a title match.

Dana must have BIG hopes for the future for him & really wants to get more cash our side of the pond.

to Dana White (if you read these): It is perfectly acceptable in business to attempt to expand your brand and make more money (touting Bisping as a great fighter will make more $ in the U.K.). I completely understand that. However, you cannot continue to blow smoke up the fans collective ass by talking about Bisping being “great” or "one of the top 10 in the world " and keep giving him lower level competition. Give him the opportunity to put up or shut up. Personally, I want someone to shut him up.

He wants more money. Only reason why he builds MB up so much.

Wow that still shot of Showdown Joe look like the retarded version of Dana White. Are they cousins?

by grembone on Feb 2, 2008 11:28 AM EST reply actions

the card is kinda weak but at least he’s giving our Canadian fighters a chance to fight at the first ufc show on thier home
turf
