Can’t wait. It seems so strange to have the ppv’s so close together, but I love it!

This event features 2 one sided battles in which Gonzaga and Penn will win their respected matches rather easily!
I recently heard an interview with Dana white talking about how great the Lightweight division is, and Dana brought up a great point that all the top UFC lightweights are under the age of 30 years old, with the exception of Sherk who is 34,Florian and Fisher who I believe are 30.
Thats leave BJ Penn:29
Huerta: 24
Griffin: 23
Edgar: 27 (I think) but definetly not 30
Joe stevenson is around 27 years old
The lightweight division is on the up and up, and will be really solid for some time.
UFC 84 in Canada looks great:
- Champ Matt Serra vs. Georges St. Pierre (title-unification bout)
* Thiago Alves vs. Karo Parisyan
* Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. TBA
* Joe Doerksen vs. Jason MacDonald
* Patrick Cote vs. TBA
* Sam Stout vs. TBA
Cote and Stout are expected to fight at this event as long as they dont sustain injuries in
their next fights
* Jonathan Goulet vs. TBA
Also, I would like to see the Bisping vs. McCarthy match changed to Bisping vs. Leiben (my oppinion)

I’d like to see Fisher/Stout 3, Goulet/Swick and Cote/Terry Martin for their respective matchups to round up the UFC 84 card. I’m not sure if Jeff Joslin is going to be ready for this card but I’d like to see him against Diego Sanchez if he is ready. That’d make for a deadly card.

Its pretty sad that when the Countdown to UFC 79 was known when it was going to air, I dunno about a month and a half out. I just got an e-mail (that is displayed above) saying how Countdown is tonight. Surprised me. Shows you how crappy this card is.

It’s gonna be interesting to see how these two fighters have prepared for one another

That cant happen because Fisher is fighting Aurelio in April. I think you are right about Jeff Joslin, I also read that he wont be ready to fight at that event due to an injury. They were talking about a fight between Joslin/diego for that event but that was befor Joslin got hurt. If Cote doesn’t sustain any major injuries later this month against McFedries theh he may be able to be ready for that card.
Personally I would have rather seen McDonald face a better challenge then Doerkson. I like McDonalds game, I question his toughness, but overall he has to be considered in the upper echelon of the WEAK 185 lb division, thus earning a better opposition then Joe Doerkson….but whatever!

Mcarthy is a worm on a fish hook..Lebem at least being battle tested provides a test to the new mw…we technically have to wait 2 months before have a ufc event really worth talking about.

Am I the only one rooting for Stevenson and really think he’s got a good chance of winning?

Hell no I hope he beats the shit out of Penn. Hope he holds on to the choke as long as he can and puts him to sleep.

Joe Daddy is going to take a seminar in BJJ this PPV.

As far as Penn/Stevenson, I am still up in there on who I will be rooting for in this fight. I really like both fighters. But since Penn has been around longer, hence, I’ve been a fan of his for longer, I will most likely go with Penn. Epsecially since a BJ loss is much more critical to his career than a loss is to Stevenson. This is one of those few fights, where I literally have to wait until half way through the first round to decide who I am actually rooting for. I like to root for the underdog, but I’m also not going to root for someone that isn’t giving it 100%. So I have a feeling that I’ll end up rooting for Joe Daddy.On Satureday, I was watching an old King Of The Cage 2002 DVD my friend let me borrow. A lot of the fights are pretty weak. Of the UFC fighters on there, so far I saw Keith Jardine display nothing but BJJ skills in his fight and Jason Lambert beat the crap outta someone. The last fight that I watched, was the main event, Joe Stevenson vs some guy named Romie Aram. Even back in 2002, the announcers were really pumping up Joe Daddy, he was their 170lb champ. Anyways, in the fight, he got ABSOLUTELY DOMINATED. He spent the ENTIRE fight on his back. Never seen Joe get dominated, especially in the wrestling aspect of the game, so badly. I wonder if this was some foreshadowing to the Penn fight…
By the way, Joe Daddy has to be one of the dumbest nicknames, but noboday ever seems to say so.

ViolentMike…
Ever see Joe Daddy get KO’d by Jens Pulver in under 30 secs?
Crazy finish, Stevenson is only 16 years old…early in his MMA career
