Fitch might need a bodyguard if those surly and bitter Joslin fans show up.

Mania is it true Karo is fighting Thiago Alves on the April 2 fight night card? And if so, how is that his definition of an easy fight? Is he just scared of Fitch? I’m lost.

I actually just watched that fight again the other day. Funny you should mention that…

I’ve heard this also but have been unable to confirm/deny it. If it is true it will be rather lame, considering Fitch beat Alves already. And if Alves wins, he’ll be in line for a title shot. We’ll see. Not worth getting worked up over until the news breaks or the rumor is squashed.

Can you buy tickets at the door?
Anyone been to this place to watch UFC before? Any good?
Should we get there early to make sure we get in?

You should definitely come and check it out. The Playhouse is a fantastic venue to watch the fights. We’ll have a booth there as well with all sorts of gear too. Cheers.

I heard from another MMA site that the UFC is allowing Frank Mir to grab one objet outside the ring (i.e, crowd) to fight Lesnar with. My guess is he’s gonna grab a chair to take in the octagon, but I wouldn’t count out that skinny, crack head blonde that used to be Jenna Jamison.
I hope Lesnar gets OWWWNED!!

Well if he beats Gono he’s got a title shot.

You will know him as UFC Welterweight Champion in the future.
I’m torn in the Gono/Fitch fight. I like both fighters but i feel Fitch will be the victor. He is too damn big/strong. He’s about GSP’s size and GSP is a monster at 170.

Keep up the good work Sean McManus.
Cheers Andy…thanks bro. Jon Fitch is definitely one of the future guys in this division. Should be a blast.

By the way MMAMania staff, are you guys planning to be one of John Fitch’s sponsor now that you guys changed the site url? I remember the UFC wouldn’t let you guys last time.

Hey Parsons,
If you check out the website attached to my name – there is an article I wrote up about the last event at the Playhouse, along with pics of the venue, etc. I’m sure you can get tickets at the door. The Sherk event was sold out (400-500 people) and there wasn’t much of a line up. It is literally an awesome place to watch the events. UFC 79 was off the hook. It is primarily a theatre – so it is bowl type seating and groups have their own table with service for food and drinks. It is amazing for 10 bucks. I promise you’ll have a blast. Cheers.

In that case, you barely know anything about MMA or the UFC.

Yeah great point. I mentioned that the UFC wouldn’t let them do this in the past the other day. I was wondering the same thing. Surely Mania can sponser Jon now. What’s the story now Mania? Surely Fitch wouldn’t mind another sponser.

Agreed – if you don’t know a guy who hasn’t lost in 14 fights, is 7-0 in the UFC and has Karo running scared – that’s on you, not Fitch!

Awesome, thanks a lot man.
Hey man, hit me up when you’re there…I’ll be at one of the booths. Cheers.

Perhaps not superstar in the way of huge popularity with the casual fans, but superstar in the way of fighting ability. NOBODY wants to fight this guy. Check out some of his old fights, you’ll see. He’s a f*****g animal.

How does Canada get all of these non-Canadian fighters to throw viewing parties in Canada for events that take place on another continent? Canada’s been getting alot of love recently.
The only UFC love shown to the East Coast in the past 2 years was a crappy event called Evans vs Bisping……

It is a balance of knowing who to contact and having sponsors put up some good cash. We are dedicated to having a big UFC name host most of the PPV’s at different venues across the Toronto region. I don’t know, but the fighters do love it up here. We, as the sponsors show them a great time, and they keep wanting to come back. They realize that there is a really good fan base up here and people pack the places to come out and see their fav. fighters. Some big names planned for future events as well. Anytime you want to make the trek…let me know and you can hang with us at the events. Cheers.

And for anyone who hasn’t been there, Toronto’s a GREAT city! It’s a lot better April-September than the dead of winter of course, but it’s a lot like Chicago….really clean awesome city right on the water. I’m not a Cannuck fyi….but Toronto’s dope!

The problem is that Fitch is just not that marketable. But he’s damn good. Remember Jeff Monson and David Loiseau? No marketing potential…
