Bisping is overhyped to the max. The UFC is treating him like a child, with the fights that he gets (Seriously Charles McCarthy)
bisping got his ass kicked by Matt Hamill so the UFC makes him drop to 185 and gives him Charles McCarthy to ease him in. I’m not buying it. Bisping is a pussy and has been treated like a pussy since he’s stepped into the octagon. Since he’s already battle tested at 205, give him David Louassou or David Terrell.

wow harsh comments. i don’t claim to love bisping but puss…that is a little ridiculous. he beat quality opponents at 205 already are you saying they are all puss too? he might not have won that fight against hammil, but he definitely didn’t get handled, it was a close fight and judges are funny sometimes. either way i think you are a little crazy to call him a puss.

I would have to agree 100% that Bisping is completey overated . The strongest part about him is his big ass mouth that is always flapping. If he focused on training ore than talking shit, maybe he might win a fight fairly or by a large margin, which I personally have not seen from him. The other side of me thnks thatthere are only so many paper fghers thath the UFC can throw at him until he gets his ass kicked so bad thay even the unfair judges can’t give him the fight.

Finally the return of Shogun. UFC fans dont realize how good he really is, he completely dismantled the current LHW champion and has taken out many top guys in Pride. Not being able to train in cardio obviously had an effect in his Griffin fight, and please do not even begin to say that Griffin is a top LHW when he loses to trash like Jardine and Tito, and can barely scrape a win over Stephan Fuckin Bonnar.

But he crushed Shogun. Not a decision, finished him.
And he won the Tito Ortiz fight on everything but the judges scorecards. Any fight fan who watched that fight knew Forrest won the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
And with Jardine…everybody has a puncher’s chance. Hell, Jardine beat Liddell too.

Yea but he didnt, he got choked out so stop talking like forrest isnt a top level fighter and shogun is the best lhw in the world cause he isnt. and he never was the best lhw. just look at his record, he hasnt beat a top level fighter in 3 years since he beat rampage. he couldnt do that to rampage now, more importantly he wont win himself into a position to fight for the belt. now that hes in the ufc theres alot of tuff fights for him.
everyone watch shoguns fall from grace as he gets his ass handed to him. no matter who he fights at lhw

The only thing we’ll watch is his rise to the title :)

Everyone knows shogun had a bad fight against forrest. But rest assured, forrest is no slouch. he’s definately top ten in the world and top 5 in the UFC. To be honest i wouldn’t be THAT suprised if forrest beats rampage. after all in mma anything can happen.
There’s no counting out chuck either. I don’t care if shogun is in shape he’s in for a test. this aint no pride BS.

It pays to be on the UFC’s good side. I’m sure Mike Swick dropping out of an already depleted middleweight division pissed them off, so he gets Josh “Guranteed Boring fight” Burkman. Bisping drops down to middleweight and he gets Charles McCarthy. He should have got Rich Franklin. Now THAT would have been a good fight.

forest is a complete fighter now his lost to jardine made him a smarter fighter now he is on top of his game and i dont think that rampage can stop him and chuck is the best lhw ever he will rise agian every body has to get beat that is what makes them better when your champion for so long and you beat all the top fighters you think you are unstoppible and that is why he lost and shogon had all of his breath the first round and could not handle forest so that is bull.

there are way better Canadian fighters than Johnathan Goulet out there not in the ufc right now. TJ Grant, Roger Hollett, Cory MacDonald, Rory MacDonald to name a few.

They need one more big time fight. Like a wower (if thats even a word lol)
I want to see a war, a brutal battle. This card needs a Griffin vs Edgar type fight, right now a truely only think that the Sam Stout and rich Clementi will be fight of the night. And that might not even get shown.
I want a real ssssick fight.
A Lytle vs Davis…….That would be an all out war
A War Machine vs Alessio (if he can fight) that would be an all heart bout there.
But seriously there is no real close match up on this card. Lutter and Franklin will either be a short bout (franklin winning) or a long boring turn the channel to check the hockeu game bout hahaah( with lutter winning)
Give us a show stopper.
Give us a crazy war.
Please……..For Canada

Herman will have a chance to redeem himself and not tap when Maia slaps a triangle choke on him.

Why is Kalib Starnes and Nate Quarry on the live card? Patrick Cote just co-headlined UFN 12 with Drew McFedries, and he destroyed Drew. He defeated Kendall Grove and Scott Smith on the last 2 live ppv events.
Kalib Starnes got beat by Alan Belcher at UFC 77, and Nate Quarry beat Pete Sell..
Makes no sense.
Oh well, I hope for the best out of Mac Danzig.
P.S. We need to see Georgie Boy in the UFC soon.

Starnes-Quarry was listed on the televised card before the Cote-Belcher fight was signed. Now that this fight is inked, I have to believe they will adjust the plans for the televised card.

Jonathan Goulet is overrated… They are loads of better fighters in Canada. I can’t believe that Cote won’t be broadcasted.

PS WHOMEVER WROTE THAT ABOUT GOULET IS TOTALLY RIGHT ,THERE ARE FAR BETTER CANADIAN ATHELETES ,GOULET GETS BY ,IN THE WAY GSP KISSES DANAS ASS[GOULET IS GSPS BUMBUDDY ]OBVIOUSLY…HE S NOT EVEN TOP 5 IN CANADA ,AND IS STUPID IN THE WAY HE LEAVES HIS FACE OUT THERE TO GET PUNCHED WHILE IN THE CLINCH,WHY COULDNT THEY GET BONGFELDT ,OR FARMER BROWN,OR DIAZ TO FILL HIS SPOT OR STEVE BOSSE???

Welcome to the Great White North to the UFC and fans from the US and around the world.
We’re really pumped to host our first UFC event in Canada.
Of course MMA is not new to us. A lot of fans here.
Fight predictions… feel free to reply with yours…
*Matt Serra wins over GSP by rear naked choke in rd. 1
Matt Serra is THE most under-rated fighter in the UFC. Serra was well on his way to a title shot when he ran into Shonie Carter’s “Hail Mary” spinning back fist. A couple tough fights following against BJ & Parisian derailed his momentum. The appearance on TUF reingigorated his career, and he is not going to let GSP take it all away now
*Travis Lutter over Franklin by submission
Franklin has nothing to answer Lutter’s ground game and will suffer a humiliating defeat here.
*Quarry by TKO over Starnes
All Quarry has to do is punch him in the gut…he’ll quit.
Never seen such a display of cowardice in MMA. As soon as the fight is not going his way, look for Starnes to find a way to quit.
*Bisbing over McCarthy. TKO
Bisbing is over-rated, but as long as the UFC is making inroads into the UK market, they need British content.
That’s why they’ve givin him this cakewalk.
*Danzig (close)decision over Bocek
Danzig will have his hands full with Bocek. This could be the highlight fight of the night.
*Sam Stout WILL beat the snot out of Rich Clementi KO. Sam has fought WAY tougher guysthan Rich. I like Clementi, but he’s in way over his head in this contest.
*Belcher by stoppage over Day
*McDonald over Doerkson AGAIN!!!
*Herman vs Maia
This could be an upset. Maia is unbeaten and could present a real challange to Herman. I’m picking Maia.
*Goulet’s a stiff, but they’ve givin him another stiff to fight. Look for him to eat a big shot and wake up with a crowd around him

Talkman – I met a huge amount of Canadian MMA fans at Colombus last year, great people, huge fans. I agree with you view of Serra. He has been played down by the UFC because he screwed up their GSP/Hughes rematch plans. Then they delegitimized the belt with an interim title. Sounds more like WWE than UFC. I’m a big GSP and Serra fan, so this is a win/win but I think Serra takes it. I still think he is coming back way to early from the back injury. I still want to see Serra kick Hughes’s ass. You would think he lent the belt to GSP when he got his clock cleaned.
Bisbing is a mouthy momma’s boy that is being spoon fed by Uncle Dana. A marketing poster for EU. Matt Hamill took his ass apart in London and was pushed aside for the UK poster boy. I hear if this weight class does’t work out he is dropping to 95lbs and going after the octagon girls

Really only two interesting fights on the card- the Title fight and Franklin-Lutter. Time to look for some place to watch it for free. Incidently, it might be nice to see Bisping get his ass handed to him, especially by someone like McCarthy. Might teach him a little humility.
by SeeRed on Apr 4, 2008 12:51 PM EDT reply actions
Unless Serra proves otherwise, I still think GSP is gonna take this one. GSP is perhaps bit too smart for Serra and should be able to capitalize on his past mistakes.

For now, McCarthy is all talk. Let’s see if he’s gonna walk ‘em and back it up. If not, then he’s done and bye bye.
