Sorry you guys, I was going to post this on the Ryan Gracie’s postings page, but it was not accepting anymore posts for some reason.
The Gracie family is suing the doctor Sabino Ferreira de Farias Neto that was with Ryan the night before his death claiming he should’ve not given him so many prescription drugs, which made his heart go into cardiac arrest later that evening. The family claims they paid $5,000 Reais (about $2,800 USD) for the doctor to convince the police that Ryan could not stay arrested without medical attention and should’ve been taken to a hospital first.
A human activist group is also suing the police under the name of the Gracies, on the same claims that Ryan should have been taken to a hospital prior to being arrested, once the evidence showed that he had drugs in his system.
Ryan’s father also said that his son has a history of Panic Syndrome (I don’t know how to say that in English) and that his son always refused to get medical help for it.

I couldn’t on this on Ryan’s page.
I had the honor of rolling at Renzo’s school in ‘04 and I met Ryan Gracie there. I asked him to autorgraph the cover of a GracieMag..which he did. I have nothing but respect and honor for him. Nobody is perfect..and he had his falling out with drugs..and most likely made some bad decisions ..but not for 1 second did he deserve to die in a Sao Paulo jail cell by himself. My deepest sympathy’s to his family and friends. Ryan God Bess You!!!! R.I.P.

What the hell did Shamrock mean that brother vs. brother has never happened in any sport???? Aren’t there about six hockey-playing Sutter brothers? Not to mention the Niedermayer brothers. And two or three Boone kids playing baseball. Then you have Peyton and Eli Manning and Champ and Boss Bailey playing football. Ken, you’ve been a great fighter for a long time. The UFC probably wouldn’t even exist without you, but I’m afraid you’ve taken a few too many shots to the head.

Fedor you can run but you can’t hide Randy is gunning for you BOY.
But seriously I doubt Fedor is running. How pissed would Dana be if the biggest fight in mma history took place outside the UFC, which it looks like it is going to.
Randy is a legend.

As for the Shamrock Vs Shamrock, I’m not really interested. I would rather see Shogun Vs Wanderlei. Ok they’re not exactly brothers but you know what I mean.

If Fedor and Randy fight, it may just come down to whether they fight in a cage or ring. I don’t see Fedor beating Randy in a cage, and I don’t see Randy beating Fedor in a ring. But wherever they fight, I’ll be pulling for Randy as hard as I was when he fought big Timmy. As far as Shamrock vs. Shamrock… yawn. Ken is done, and if we’re supposed to take Frank seriously, then he needs a better opponent. How about he tries to get revenge on Tito (again) for destroying his brother multiple times.

y would he? Fraks a piece of crap who has no respect for his own family, whom adopted him. Frank is such a piece of crap. I am so sick of Frank Shamrock always tell;ing the world he is the best fighter out there and then never fighting a quality opponent,…he is like Tito, he talks sh*t and weasles his way out of everything!

Dana should just let Randy go, and do whatever he needs to do to void his conract. BUT, that will never happen. Randy has done just as much for the UFC as anyone. The least they can do is pay him back with the one and only fight he wants before retiring. If they won’t have an interpromotion fight, then VOID THE CONTRACT. Whenever and wherever Randy and Fedor fight, Dana would be rooting for Randy to (in his mind) prove that the UFC was always better than PRIDE. So why would Dana want Randy to get a full year older before fighting Fedor? As each month goes by, the chances of Randy winning go down ever so slightly.

Would Randy still want to fight Fedor if he losses to Large Man Choi would Randy still want to leave the UFC? I bet Randy changes his tune if Fedor losses to this giant nobody! I think Fedor is scared to lose that why he fight these freak shows. I think Fedor needs to lose in order to get the old Fedor back he’s worry more about losing than being the best.

Randy’s a pretty coool guy. He’s really going to fight Fedor, and he doesn’t even care if it’s in the Cage for the UFC. Randy has no anyother intention of fighting anyone else. He want’s Fedor and Randy has that look in his eye, that look of finding out who the number one MMA Heavyweight in the world is. Randy will win this fight, only because he looks so content and confident in fighting Fedor.

The facts:
- Randy got a $500 signing bonus for signing a contract to fight FOUR fights in the UFC.
- Fedor turned down a UFC offer to fight in a nothing organization for (I’m sure) less money so he could fight in gay sambo tournaments that no one even shows up for anymore bc that’s like A-Rod playing on a highschool baseball team.
My Opinion:
- Letting Randy fight against Fedor only hurts the UFC for a mere curiosity indulgence of who would win. UFC is bigger than those two fighters.
- Randy could STILL hurry and fight the last two fights over the next year and still be able to fight Fedor on NYE for next year and come out a hero
- I don’t think he thinks can win too many more fights though but I still think he should go out in the honorable way.
- I just don’t see how this is Dana/UFC/Zuffa’s fault that Randy signed a four fight contract without THINKING IT THROUGH FIRST or that Fedor is a complete moron for signing with a 2bit organization. I’m mad a fedor for running from REAL competition (UFC) and I’m mad at Randy for acting like a spoiled brat and not sticking to his word.

I couldnt have said it better myself.
Off Topic yesterday I found a great website that shows all mma fights: K-1, Pride, UFC. I got to watch Tito fight wanderlei for the 1st time. I though Tito was tough back then but wanderlei rocked Tito with an uppercut, and I swear Tito turned his back and ran full speed to the other end of the cage with wandy chasing him at full speed….It was the funniest ting I have ever seen in mma!

exactly! i didn’t think it was that big of a stepdown for randy to fight big nog! if he beat him convincingly, like his last 2 fights, it would have only cemented his legacy. i wont even comment on fedor because everything’s already been said. and shame on cro-cop for losing his last two, randy might have stuck around for a super fight w/ him. if his greed didn’t get to him first.

Randy is a true warrior. He knew what he wanted and he wasn’t afraid to ditch the UFC to get it. Most others would have just stuck with the UFC to continue to become more popular, but Couture wasn’t screwing around. He wanted to get in the cage with one of the most dangerous men on the planet. Many other fighters wouldn’t go to such great lengths just to prove themselves (especially against a guy like Fedor) but Randy could not make it more clear that he is confident and ready to roll. He has done everything he possibly could to get this fight, and now he has Fedor in his sights… its only a matter of time before he can pull the trigger.
This fight is going to happen. It’s inevitable.
And while all of the fans are complaining and wishing that it would happen sooner, it might be better for the sport that it is taking so long. With every day that passes, more and more people are becoming fans of MMA. And it may take a year or so for the fight to happen, which will mean that MMA will have that much more exposure. This fight will make history, and the future of MMA will be greatly influenced by its success.
Although I thought that Randy seemed like a jackass for a while with this contract issue, its pretty clear that he was doing the right thing all along. When he and Fedor meet, they will take MMA to a new level.
(And it better happen in a cage, for Randy’s sake.)

Yes, PW- he very clearly said that it has never been done, having two brothers fight each other in any sport. Of course brothers play against each other in different sports, he was referring to combat, you know like what he and Frank will be doing, which has NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE IN ANY SPORT.

AWESOME CARD…. I never thought I’d care to see Ken Shamrock in the ring again… but this fight has me going ‘wow’ what a spectacle… I always thought Frank was the better fighter, but Ken knows everything Frank has in his tool box, which may make that fight every bit as tough as fighting a younger opponent.
Couture waiting to break all ties with UFC in October, now I understand better why he’s so bitter… White is clinging on to the hopes Couture stays with the UFC or somehow he can make that fight happen in the UFC… I think White needs to break down and just say awww’ ‘fuck it’ and cough up a ton of money for the fighters because the UFC will make a ton of money off of it. I know Dana does’t want to make a precedent off this, saying UFC fighters can break their contracts and do whatever they want… he’s trying to make an example out of this situation to keep the other UFC fighters under control. White does have a strong argument, if Fedor wins, he’s not in the UFC, which will hurt the UFC heavyweight division.

I agree with Violent Mike.
There are clear grounds for a win/win compromise. Dana should let Randy out of the contract in return for Co-branding rights of the Fedor/Randy fight.
The fans would not be so pissed at the UFC for blocking the fight of the year. Randy would get what he wanted. The UFC would get its name on the big show, M1 would get instand cred for enabling the fight, and people would have to conceed that Dana (Kissenger) White’s peace/deal making skills are omnipotent.

Randy Couture is a whiny ass little bitch. He get millions of dollars in bonuses and fight purses and he cries about how Dana White isnt nice to him, so what!!!!Grow the fuck up, cash those checks and continue to fight. Hes ducking NOG and everyone knows it, if he was serious about fighting Fedor to prove hes number one he would fight the number two, the only reason he doesnt is because hes in it for the payday and if NOG beats him suddenly no one gives a crap about him and Fedor. I am so tired of hearing how great HDnets fights are, when they have been around as long as the UFC and are putting on cards that rival the UFC cards then they may have my attention. Its ridiculous to blame Dana White for everything bad about the UFC, he is only one person in a company. And anyone who has ever worked for a large company knows that usually one person does not make decisions for the company alone.

Dear sir, I must disagree. Randy is not a “whiny ass little bitch”. He’s the number 1 fighter in the world right now, and he wanted to fight Fedor more than anything, and when the UFC couldn’t provide that, he bounced. He wasn’t afraid to tarnish his reputation in order to prove himself in the long run, while Fedor’s last few fights haven’t proved anything. Obviously, Randy isn’t just in it for the payday, he just felt disrespected after hearing how much Cro Cop and Nogueria were making as soon as they made it to the UFC. So how can you talk up Fedor and Big Nog and put down Randy at the same time?
