Karo Parisyan (18-4) is penciled in to meet Thiago Alves (13-3) in a welterweight tilt at UFC 84 in Montreal, Canada, on April 19 at the Bell Centre, according to the MMAWeekly.com rumors section.
Wow, another huge fight. I live in Toronto and won’t be missing this card. Plus Rich Franklin in one fight, and Shogun in another! I’ll be pretty hung over for the drive home.

Isn’t this supposed to be UFC 83? UFC 82 is set for March 1st and UFC 83 for April 19th. If UFC 84 is set for April 19th, then when the hell is UFC 83 taking place?

GSP by 3nd round tko. The first round will be gsp firing off some inside leg kicks against Serra. Serra will try and mix it up like he did last time but gsp will stay out of the way and keep a good distance frustrating serra. Halfway through the round gsp will take serra down and put him against the cage. He will control him there and work him over with a little GnP further frustrating serra. In the second serra will come out and try and throw a bomb which gsp will duck and take serra down again. This time he will be more aggressive and open up a cut with a glancing elbow. In the third gsp come out and targets the cut with some jabs and takes down serra again and targets the cut. The fight gets stopped halfway through the 3rd round due to cuts. War!

by NIKOL on Jan 28, 2008 9:26 PM EST reply actions
Tickets will go on sale Feb 10. Official announcement of date and venue – on Feb 2. (but it’s April 19 @ the Bell Centre….UFC 84).
Tickets are alleged to start @ $125CDN to $1000 for floors and $1500 for VIP packages.
As for the card…GSP and Serra are NOT confirmed. GSP will be there for sure, but MAY NOT be fighting. My guess is that it depends on Serra’s health. I’m sure there’s a push to have this and Dana would be hard pressed to come up with a title fight if this fell through though….let’s hope Serra is ready.
This is one UFC not to miss!

K I’m sure everyone knows now that 84 is the May card in Las Vegas but just to establish that in the thread here…
I’ve heard that Wanderlei is fighting Keith Jardine. This card is really looking solid with the 3 205 lb fights plus the main event. Just a really nice card being put together. They’ve gotta start having more PPVs though. 1 a month isn’t enough. It should be 1 every 3 weeks there abouts

Its looking to be a great card so far , a lot of good fights worth watchin. I just hope that Tito doesn`t leave after this event and that Wanderlei does not drop down to 185 i don`t think it makes sense for him, hes home is 205 even though he looks leaner latetly than he did at PRIDE, Wandy is one the few who still have a chance at taking that belt from Rampage. I `ll probably order this event on PPV hopefully it lives up to the hype especially BJ vs. Sherk.
by G-MONEY on Feb 22, 2008 2:41 PM EST reply actions
That seems like a really good fight card. The fight that really drew my attention was Silva vs. Jardine. That should be a real good fight.
by E. Fairway on Feb 23, 2008 12:53 PM EST reply actions
Looks like all that is left is one more fight on the main card and another non-televised bout to get to 10 fights. But I have to say right now this is one of their best. The main event is basically 50-50 for me and 3 BIG LHW matches. Hopefully they throw on a HW fight with Gonzaga vs. Sylvia or something like that.
by Anthony on Feb 24, 2008 12:55 PM EST reply actions
They should think about calling this “the battle of the 205ers” with 10 LHWs going at it. Going to be great!

is it just me or when you look at the title for this PPV do you see “wii” all the time? lol, i keep reading wii at first glance
by Anthony on Feb 28, 2008 2:16 PM EST reply actions
I have to say that usually i like to see Tito get battered… i just plain don’t like him!!!
But characters like him are good for the sport & a good win & performance over a top, if slightly boring fighter in Machida will surely make Dana have to put his hatred of Tito to one side & offer him a new contract that he would deserve on merit, not just because he is a top ppv draw!!!
It’s time for Tito to step up to the plate & prove to everyone he’s stil a top 205 pound contender & not just a celebrity has been!
Also, come on BJ do everyone a favour & punish Sherk & prove to everyone what a cheating punk he really is!!!
I & my soapbox have left the building……..
