Matt Hughes new book 'Made in America: The Most Dominant Champion in UFC History' set for 2008 release

Props: SimonSays.com
Quoteworthy:
"If you know anything at all about mixed martial arts and the UFC, then you know the name Matt Hughes. With devastating slams and ground-and-pound -- and nine championship belts to his credit -- Matt is the most dominant fighter in UFC history.... Matt discloses his most private thoughts and feelings during both his epic victories and his crushing losses. But when the gloves come off, there's Matt Hughes the man. He talks with unflinching honesty about his early hell-raising and his near-death experience, the moment he let God into his heart, falling in love with his wife, the birth of his daughter, and all the important events of his life -- and he shares personal photographs never before seen by the public. A Christian, a family man, and a fighter, Matt Hughes could only have been made in America."
The publication date is set for January 1, 2008, from Simon Spotlight Entertainment. It'll cost 24 clams.

What a lame cover for a book and and even lamer title but it does suit Hughes’ personality and giant ego. I’m not a fan of his at all but he’s definitely been a dominant fighter for a while in the UFC but I bet this book just reeks of his egomaniac quotes and stories.

People will laugh at the title if GSP whips his ass again. Too bad for Matt’s sake that it’s coming out after UFC 79. Well I say that expecting GSP to win, if Matt Hughes wins he can have his title “Most dominant UFC champion…”.
S’pose he actually was the most dominant to date thinking about it. Maybe Anderson could outdo his number of successful defenses in time. Who knows.

first of all matt beat gsp also. second of all anderson silva is in 185 and matt is in 170. but the best fight would be silva vs griffin

I have to admit, at the very least, the book would provide some laughs at some of the quotes that will be in there.

Good story. Writer was a bit over the top with some statements. I like Huerta and his story is inspirational, however, I think he has been overmarketed by the UFC; ala Bisping. I see Huerta as a paper dragon. We will see against Guida. Guida is the real deal…for Huerta this will be his 1st real test.

Hughes record speak for itself, right now I can’t argue with him being the most dominate champ ever. Liddell’s run could be close and Anderson Silva might be onto a big run but right now I think Hughes is right.

Roger Huerta is certainly going to be a great fighter at 155. Michael Bisping is a fabricated wanna be 205 pound fighter who the UFC uses only as a gateway to England. Bisping cannot beat a top 10 fighter and never will.
All of whom at 205 who will outclass Bisping
1. Rampage
2. Griffen
3. Liddell
4. Wandelei
5. Shogun
6. Jardine
7. Tito
8. Alexander
9. Anderson Silva (185)
10. Henderson (185)

Hughes does hold an impressive ufc title defense record..but Chuck..nah..he had for title defenses against pure grappler’s..(with due respect for the natural)till ran into Rampage..I don’t consider some1 to be a dominate champ with less then a half full of title defenses..Anderson is on the rght track..in a year or so..will most likely considered the most dominate champ ever..I hope Hughes does not move up to 185..cuz Anderson would hurt him. IMO.

Sorry, but Matt has a lot more fans than the 13 of you. It’s so funny to hear people who have such distorted world views dump their one liners (most of which are recycled movie quotes), in which they hope to get recognized for, on this small little blog (no offense mmamania. I truly love this site).
All you guys who bag on Matt and any of these other fighters, accomplish something great and then come preach to us all. Oh and if you do accomplish something great, have fun reading all of the quotes from the losers who hate you. I’m sure it will be great fun.
Or you could just not eat all of the crap Matt Serra feeds you. Your leader has some nerve talking about ego.
Have a good weekend everyone!

Wow! you guys sound like a bunch of jealous idiots. As if the entire MMA industry is’nt built around each fighter’s confidence that he can crush the other opponent. They all say it while claiming that they are championship material, yet only Hughes and a few others have actually proven it. So the guy wants to make a few extra bucks.
What would Serra’s book title look like? Here’s an idea “The most average fighter to win a championship” Yeah…that would sell.

I think your being a bit harsh on bisping, personally i thought he looked good against rashad, and yes i cant see him ever being champ at 205, but he has good skills and also a good engine. Not top ten but just outside, could break in to the fold.
Hughes is without doubt the most domminant, no questions! I also think he will beat gsp this time around by sticking to what he is good at, he already said himself on tuf that he was not happy with his last couple of performances, think this could be a cracking fight!!
Liddell’s reign at the top is second only to hughes, he beat some really tough guys, and also strikers more grapplers towards the end of his reign though, possibly effecting him against rampage. Liddell will beat silva though im confident of that!!

3. Blame every one of your fighters for losing and never think that it may be your coaching
4. Consider Tim Sylvia to be one of your best friends
5. Believe in your heart that you can go up a weight class and beat Anderson Silva
6. Get worked for 2 rounds by BJ Penn and pretend that it was a one sided win in your favor
7. Knowing that Carlos Newton choked you out and you fell to the mat unconcious, pretend that you dominated him with a “slam”
8. Tell GSP he has no class for calling you out on a bad performance when you do the same thing on a constant basis
9. Make your team read the bible to see what person you most represent in it

Funny stuff spider but a bit hypocritical. Im betting if he does come out and beat GSP (big if) by GnP or grappling you will bitch that he was to scared to stand to2toe. Don’t bust on a guy who gets in there and puts it on the line. If you dont like him fine say you dont like him. No way anybody on this blog could last 30 seconds with Hughes, Silva, Franklin, Sherk or any of the current title holders or any of the cans they get fed.

“Yea, though I walk through the Octagon of Death, I shall fear no evil, for thou art with me. Thine crock of shit biblical mumbo jumbo comforteth me. Thine inbred, cousin-humping, cow-raping family tree giveth me joy in knowing I shall be strong for I walk with Jethros and Abigail Maes.”
Would someone PLEASE shut this knuckle-dragging hayseed up? And this simple bitch couldn’t last 30 seconds in the real world writing a real book of some merit. He may know how to knock someone out, but I take great comfort in the fact that within three months, this book will be fast tracked to the remainder section along with other crap for less than $4.99.

matt hughes deserves a book
he is by far the most dominant mma champion
royce in the early days doesnt really count as that was more the pitting of styles rather than of rounded fighters
chuck was dominant but imho needs to regain the belt and beat rampage to be considered
randy isnt a dominant champion
its too early for andersson silva but he has a chance if he gets past henderson
if hughes does beat GSP (which the bookies expect to happen 1 in 3 times) then his legacy will keep growing
beating serra will make him an 11 time champ
then probably BJ … hughes is now well versed enough in BJJ to avoid BJ in the first and second rounds with a combination of skill and strength
round 3 will come and BJ will be completely gassed and then its just a matter of time til hughes finishes him and becomes a 12 time champ
after that my money would be on retirement or moving up to face the 185 champ which i would love to see
