Jason MacDonald: UFC 84 possible for Montreal, Canada in April 2008?

Props: SportsNet.ca
Quoteworthy:
"I was told last week that my next fight will be in April. Joe Silva (the UFC matchmaker) told me they want to save me for the April card in Montreal. I don't know the date or an opponent or even if it will for sure be in Montreal. But he said he needed me on the Canadian card."
Middleweight and Canadian native Jason MacDonald talks about the first potential UFC show north of the border sometime in early 2008. We've been down this road before numerous times. Once we hear (semi) official word that an event is booked in Canada we'll pass it along. For now don't get those hopes just yet only to have them dashed once again. For more background on the UFCs previous attempts to crack into the Canadian market click here.

THey are thinking Serra vs GSP…
Goulet is on the next card so Maybe they are thinking of pitting him against someone in Montreal… IF he wins maybe the likes of KOS… (he would want a chance to take out one of GSPs buddies)

McDonald is the other worst fighter in the ufc. I’m Canadian but I would never put a dollar on McDonald. Who does the UFC employ nowadays? Sherk, McDonald…..Should rethink their gameplan.

Goulet has already lost to Koscheck at UFC Fight Night 6.

They should sign Dennis Kang and throw him on this card.
UFC is counting on GSP to beat Matt Hughes and unify the title against Serra in Montreal. That will be real Hype for GSP. If GSP is champ and Serra isnt health it will probably be GSP vs. Fitch… that will be awesome. I really hope GSP is champ when they go to Canada. For years he was getting booed in Vegas, until recently and he always took it on the chin, like the class act that he is. He deserves to defend the title in his home town. GSP is up there with Couture as one of the classiest and most professional fighters in MMA.

Goddamnmike: are u on drugs? u hate on Mcdonald? He aint my favorite fighter neither, but he is one of the best the middleweight division has to offer, and u want to get rid of him? Thats real dumb! I would like to see McDonald vs. “Jacare” if he is even signed with the UFC.

Rumors are circulating that Forrest Griffin vs. Keith Jardine 2 will go down Superbowl weekend at UFC 81….Winner gets Rampage.
Cant wait to hear the major announcement Dana has reguarding Rampage’s future!

If Patrick Cote gets past Drew McFedries in January a fight between him (Cote) and Franklin might not be a bad idea now that Cote seems to have improved somewhat. Perhaps the UFC can get “The Polish Hammer” away from the IFL and put him on the card? The return of “The Crow” might also be a good idea. Heck, put John Alessio on the card as well. Am I missing anyone?

I thought of someone else – Jeff Joslin (gave Kos a run for his money last time) out of Hamilton.

Don’t forget Stout. We need to have him on the card to round it out. Starnes in a prelim isn’t a bad idea either, he always gives it his all.
GSP and Serra would be a beautiful thing in Montreal.
This Toronto guy cannot contain his excitement, I know it’s still very preliminary but I can’t help it.

LOL are you serious??? gsp vs macdonald striking this is a ridiculous comparison, gsp is light years ahead of Ronald. Wrestling gsp again is WAY ahead of big read, I think big red may have better bjj than gsp’s thats it, man are you biased, or might I say delusional. Gsp is probably the most well rounded fighter in the ufc I have no idea where your coming from. That would be awesome to see gsp fight serra again and win the “official title” that would be sweet, serra has NO chance this time around.

St pierre-vs-Serra
Macdonald-vs jacare souza
Cote-vs-paulo filho,
stout on the card, cote could be ready for april as well as stout.
and maybe the ufc could introduce chris hordecki to the octagon(not likely but incredible when it does happen)
This whole card is not likely but imagine if it was.

Actually I read a very interesting article on David. He is finally 100% healthy and he feels better than he did when he fought Rich. He went underneath personal problems, now he has established himself with a camp with good fighters with Greg Jackson, and he is still training with GSP.
He could come back.

Yes, I think you are crazy, and if you bet against GSP when he fights Sera again you will lose that $100. I bet your buddies are willing to double that bet this time. GSP learns from his mistakes.

I’m kinda losing interest in the UFC, too hard to keep track of the hundreds of fighters. Now would be a good time to go back old school. Get the best of the best in there & let them fight it out, crown a winner. Then two or three months later do it again. Screw this up & down, back & forth, I’m injured lets wait—bull-shit. Plus I cant afford ppv $35.00 every month. Just thought I’d put my 2 cents in. Rock on ya’ll.

Crazy? How about stupid? If you looked at the spread on that one fight you knew you were against the odds big time!!!
Maybe smoking a little too much BC bud? That could be a reason for “crazy” decision making if you want to call it that.
“IF” I would have bet on that fight I would have been more comfortable betting a $1000 on GSP vs $50 on Serra.
Serra got lucky and everybody that has some knowledge know that unless Serra is you little HERO or if you train in Serra’s gym.

Dude everything must be in slow motion if you watch JMAC and if you were to see GSP throw a punch, JMAC will be on his ass before you see it on the replay.

Gsp is only 26, give him a chance how oldy was Hughes when he first won the title? Gsp will be the greatest MMA champion of all time, you can take that to the bank. Serra definitely doesn’t have to tools to stay on top, period, he got extremely lucky against Gsp, you’ll realize this in there next fight, guaranteed.

Chris Horodecki isn’t quite ready for the UFC yet. I have a feeling that he will be with the UFC by the time he reaches 21 years old. “The Crow” blows. Everything that I’ve seen from him since he fought Franklin looks to me like he doesn’t even want to fight anymore. ESPECIALLY when he fought Joey Villasenior. The Crow’s performance was literally a disgrace to the sport. You’d have to see the fight to know what I’m talking about. And John Allessio? He can’t even buy himself a win in the WEC. But I do like the idea of getting as many Canadian fighters on the card, ESPECIALLY Cote vs Franklin – I REALLY like that idea.
