I hope they give Cung Le a realy opponent after he finishes Sam Morgan tonight. All flukes aside, Le wins this fight in devastating fashion.

Too bad they are not showing the Sean Salmon fight.

Sammy Morgan, lol. I hope Chung Le does a spinning backfist split kick to end him.

Chung Le is crazy.

I don’t know what to think of Frank Shamrock. Is it true when he says that Cung Le needs another year or two to round out his skills and get some experience before he takes Frank on? Or is Frank just ducking Cung Le? I don’t know. I haven’t seen enough of Cung Le and I don’t know how Frank’s body is holding up. Thoughts guys?

anyone know what happened to Riggs? His name is on the poster, but I don’t see him listed on the fight card on any site.

LOL
Cung Le reminds me of a smaller version of Chong Li from the movie Blood Sport. Mostly because of his name.

The Cung Le fight is a joke. He’s fighting a total can. It looks like a UFC 1 fight. Sam Morgan should look for another job.

by Pat on Nov 17, 2007 1:22 AM EST reply actions

If Cung Le had any ground skills, he would have already won. Morgan’s guard was there for a pass, but Cung didn’t even try. Cung mounted him once from side control, but when Morgan rolled over, Le didn’t get his hooks in. He could’ve easily had back control.

I don’t Frank’s ducking, I agree with him. Cung Le would get destroyed by Shamrock. Shamrock will tap him out if they fight in the next year.

sick frank fighting chung le!!

by rubberDuckman on Nov 17, 2007 1:34 AM EST reply actions

Frank Shamrock accepted Cung Le’s challenge! Cung Le is in a world of trouble. Frank probably saw the same holes I saw in Cung’s game.

I think Frank Shamrock would qualify as a real opponent.

On another note, Cung looked gassed after that fight. It’s not boding well for him.

by egor on Nov 17, 2007 1:49 AM EST reply actions

I was not impressed Cung Le’s performance. He was fighting a total can. Morgan’s boxing was horrible and couldn’t even defend this bad hip tosses. I don’t if Le was really trying when he was on the ground but it looked unimpressive.

Frank will beat Le for sure.

How could anyone say they are not impressed with cung le? Morgan is a solid mma fighter and cung toyed with him. cung is a solid wrestler and no other fighter on earth kicks like he does. come on stop being a contrarian and give the guy the respect you know he deserves.

Morgan was swinging like an amateur. Cung telegraphed most of his kicks and Morgan still couldn’t defend. Cung is a solid wrestler and a very good striker, but not world-class.

GSP, Silva, Vera, Liddell, Cro Cop all have more effective MMA kicks than Cung. Cung does a lot of fancy stuff that won’t work against a top opponent. This fight proved nothing IMO. I already know that Cung can destroy a stationary target.

by Pat on Nov 17, 2007 10:09 AM EST reply actions

I thought last night’s show made it painfully obvious that Cung Le is not a complete mixed martial artist. Not that all the recognized guys in MMA are, IMO there aren’t very many guys that are truly well rounded. That being said, Le obviously doesn’t have much ground game, he did very little damage on top and kept letting Morgan up because he didn’t want to mess with the ground. Le is very entertaining and has quality stand-up but the idea of him beating Shamrock is kind of a joke to me- I want to see the fight cause they’re two of the best in their organization but I don’t want to see the fight cause I think I know what’s going to happen… but hey, there’s always the joy of finding out HOW Shamrock is going to beat him…

Even so, Frank saw some major hole’s on Le’s Game..Something Frank will surely capitalize on..
But i hope Cung wins that fight…Looking forward to it!
