LOL.

2,500 bucks and up? “holy shit”, I dont have that kind of bread.

How about 25 bucks??

a 50 lb stocking stuffer! damn That weighs more than my dog.

Those pictures are awesome too….

Ah the UFC trying to get more money. I do not see this book selling over 100 copies. I mean that is if Dana White does not buy them.

I got some good news.

Ultimate Fight Night 12 will happen in January (possibly the 23rd) and through Mike Swick’s myspace bulliten, he will be fighting on that card.

Nate Marquardt and Thales Leities will clash at the MMA Superbowl UFC 81..

That match makes me drool, what an incredible match.

LMAO…$2,500 stocking stuffer.
When I was a kid, my parents(I mean Santa) always put candy, some puzzles and a HUGE orange in my stocking.(maybe $5 worth)

by Stagger-Lee on Nov 14, 2007 10:00 AM EST reply actions

That’s almost as expensive as their ticket prices.

I think it’s priced appropriately and I plan on buying half a dozen. Seriously, this is like the gayest thing yet! They should have made a similar book that wasn’t limited to 450 copies and sold it for $50. I’m sure they’d sell a lot. I’d probably get one.

What a joke. Between ticket prices and the book I don’t know how those guys sleep at night

by Cliff Huckstable on Nov 14, 2007 10:11 AM EST reply actions

Guys, set aside the money issue, and the fact that most of us will never even see this book in person. And hop over to its web site and take a look. It truly is a fine art publication (the book is a huge 25×25 by Kevin Lynch, the guy seems pretty accomplished), with even a gallery schedule soon to come. Be sure to view the video, good stuff.

by jess on Nov 14, 2007 10:33 AM EST reply actions

For that price I want a date with the “Tapout Butt Bandits” to boot.

by Landowner on Nov 14, 2007 10:35 AM EST reply actions

I’ll wait for the Mass-Market paperback edition. Thanks.

by Merkin on Nov 14, 2007 10:36 AM EST reply actions

Maybe this is a fund raiser to try and pay their fighters more.

by bu11dog on Nov 14, 2007 10:37 AM EST reply actions

If I had 2,500 to waste on a book I would buy it. Also has anyone seen the new ultimate ultimate KO dvd.. with Brandon vera on the cover. Very disapointing, it shows the same old tank abbot KO’s, arlovski uppercutting Vladymir the janitor. The best KO is frank Mir ko’ing wes simms. DVD was a huge dissapointrment. out of all GSP’s fight they show him vs, Jay heron…come on! it sucked!

by john on Nov 14, 2007 10:40 AM EST reply actions

If Dana lets me know the results of a few fights in time to get some bets down I could buy it.

For those that arent familiar with theirry Sokoudjou. check out the video’s of his fights with Arona, Noguera and Texeira (wec) on www.sokoudjou.com. It shows the entire fight (although they are short fights) and the full fighters entrances to the ring.

by john on Nov 14, 2007 11:05 AM EST reply actions

for those of you unfamilar with sokoudjou. you can watch his fights for free, complete with fighters entrances on www.Sokoudjou.com they show the arona, noguera, and Texeira’s fight (in the wec)

lol the sell of one book will pay in full a non-Champion fighter to be on a PPV card.

by c-war on Nov 14, 2007 11:48 AM EST reply actions

lol the sell of one book will pay in full a non-Champion fighter to be on a PPV card.

Only if he loses. You need to sell a super-deluxe edition that was personally touched by Mr. Dana White himself to pay a winner.

by pw on Nov 14, 2007 12:00 PM EST reply actions

Hmmm, interesting! Looks like it’ll be an international bestseller.

Seriously though, imagine if some poor fool bought one and then they brought out volume 2…Well actually it probably wouldn’t be such a big deal for them if they had that type of money to blow on a book.

Must be only a dozen or so.

by RobH86 on Nov 14, 2007 12:16 PM EST reply actions

This book is for those fat pockets that go see the events live.

by BOSS on Nov 14, 2007 1:24 PM EST reply actions

As a fine art major and photography director of a major ad agency, those photographs are weak at best, and certainly not worth $2500.

by HermanMunster on Nov 14, 2007 2:00 PM EST reply actions

Great news everyone….with the book sales they can now pay Randy C the money wants to fight in the UFC….where can i reserve a copy?

Look at the back of the cover.

IT says that it is the best of all 4 knockout volumes.

Are They Tryin To Set The Ginuess World Record For Most Expensive Book.. Cause 25 Hundred Dollars Is WAY to Much.

by Sour Diesel on Nov 14, 2007 5:37 PM EST reply actions

I bet Dana set the price on this one or maybe he is trying to give back a % of the sales to the fighters for being in their book…….wait a minute.

The Grinch who stole x-mass.

by Jo on Nov 14, 2007 6:10 PM EST reply actions

I guess they figure since all of their fighters make so much money that had to find a way to make some money, lol, that sad some of those fighters bring 2,500 home for winning a fight so the no name guys can’t even afford this book.

by jimmy_dean on Nov 14, 2007 6:10 PM EST reply actions

My thoughts exactly. Car or $h!tty book?…Well presumably the car would also be pretty $h!tty but I think I’m being pulled in that direction.

by RobH86 on Nov 14, 2007 6:35 PM EST reply actions

I don’t see why this is bothering everyone so much. It’s not like putting this ridiculous book out precludes them from releasing affordable books. Merchandise for other sports knows no limits, from cheap junk all the way to the comically expensive.

by Don on Nov 14, 2007 7:53 PM EST reply actions

i dont think anybody is going to pay that much for a picture book i mean i love the ufc but i would never pay 2500 for a book.

by James Smith on Nov 15, 2007 10:39 AM EST reply actions

I don’t get it. What does it do that it costs $2500 bucks? Maybe the UFC is going to start giving that as a purse. One book to show and one more if you win. I’m pretty sure that’s more than some of those guys get paid.

I just bought two seasons of TUF for 30 bucks and I don’t even have to read anything. It’s right there on the TV for me.

by leroy on Nov 15, 2007 6:29 PM EST reply actions

The book will sell out! I’m buying one, i can’t keep it, i’ll sell it in a few months when the price will be up and i’ll make some money of it!

It’s not a book! It’s a collectible!

by Dre on Dec 6, 2007 7:39 PM EST reply actions

That’s a laugh. That any extra money that is made by the UFC [doesn’t] go to the fighters.

It would be cheaper to go see a live fight, but i would like to pass the book down to my kids someday. A live fight or a 2500.00 book to pass down PRICELESS.
