Man I have liked Lauzon for quite some time but this dude sounds real cool too…may the best man win….

This guy really needs this fight, he’s currently undefeated and is like 35 yrs old. He had to move up in wieght which kinda sucks because if the fight gets to the ground, it’s gonne be like the Rampage-Henderson fight.

I can’t believe how big of an underdog he is considering his record and seeing that he finishes all his fights. He won 16 of 18 fights in the first round! The other 2 in round 2. I can’t wait to see this guy fight. I really like Joe Lauzon. I wanted him to win TUF. This will be a great match!

2 weight classes?! Why isn’t he fighting at bantamweight in the WEC? Can’t blame him, though. When the UFC calls, no fighter (not named Fedor) turns it down.

I would think that he is such a big underdog because he is moving up two weight classes, from Bantomweight 135lb to LW 155 lb. I assume that he had to put wieght on for this fight because he said he walks around at 158. 158 cutting to 135 is HUGE, that’s cutting like 17% of his body weight. He said that Lauzon walks around over 185. That means that Joe is cutting over 30 lbs? Is that correct? I doubt it because GSP walks around at about 185, and Joe Lauzon looks like some starving albino somalian with monkey ears compared to GSP. I call shannanigans on Jason Reinhardt.

GSP actually cuts from 195, but theres still no way Lauzon walks around over 185; even Sherk doesn’t cut from more than 180. I’d put Lauzon around 165-170.

GSP actually cuts from 195,

That’s what I had thought. I said over 190 just a few days ago, and I asked a hardcore Canadian GSP fan to clearify for me. They said that he walks around just over 185. He looks bigger than that to me….

In that group of 16 guys Reinhardt finished in the first round and two in the second, I’d wager there’s a lot of bartenders, delivery drivers and other non-fulltime fighters. Look through his Bodog page and see if you can identify anybody he’s fought.

In all honesty, don’t know too many bantomweights. My favorite 135lb’er is Chase Beebe. That kid is for REAL!

Lauzon is gonna submit this dude.

Easily.

It’s not a good sign when you’re practically begging your opponent to keep it standing in an interview. I don’t blame him necessarily, I wouldn’t want to grapple a guy who’s been training with BJ for the past few months.

A lot of guys may walk around 20lbs plus over when they’re pigging out and not looking to cut a drop. When they’re seriously training and eating sensibly the proper amount of nutrition they then drop to around 8% body fat and carry a normal amount of water in their body… this is when the weight cutting truly begins.

I imagine Joe Lazon begins his true weight cuting at around 165lbs or so.

Gsp probably begins his probably about 185 lbs.

The higher up in weight you go up, the more normal it is to cut larger amounts due to body size.

Some fighters are undisciplined, and won’t diet at all and carry unecessary fat and water until the last 3 or 2 days before the fight, which attributes to their ‘huge’ weight cuts.

Jason Reinhardt has that Steve Carell thing going.

by Thorazine on Nov 14, 2007 5:40 AM EST reply actions

I am baffled as to how a man can weight 135 lbs. Note to Urijah Faber: move up to 155 and join the UFC you talented little fruit fly.

Reinhardt is a product of illinois wrestling (i think). illiois wrestlers are tough, maybe not the most technical, but tough. Chase Beebe, Hughes, caveman (Guida) to name a few that have grown up in illinois wrestling programs. from the video it looked like he was preparing for some strike and shoot. i dont think he fears the ground. i think it will be a good brawl.

Growing up in Reinhardt’s home town I’ll definitely being pulling for the guy, however after watching the video, his stand up looked rough….maybe he was tired! I thought most of his wins were via submission (rear-naked choke) why not stay on the ground? OR is the stand up strategy just a hoax?

Any way…..I HOPE HE WINS WON FOR OLD DECATUR!!!……I’ll be pulling for the guy!!
