Cheesehead: UFCs Randy Couture to motivate Green Bay Packers team on Dec. 8

Quoteworthy:
"... we got on to the subject of talking to the players and finding different ways to get your message across to them. I was telling Jay [Glazer] that one of the platforms we like to use is having guest speakers come and talk to the team about relevant subjects or themes.... We often talk to our team about being smart and tough football players ... Jay recommended Randy as the perfect example of someone who could talk to our players about being smart and tough. His fights over the years exemplify this."
Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy talks about the reason he asked UFC champion Randy Couture to address his team one December 8 prior to a game against the Oakland Raiders . According the the article future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback, Brett Favre, is a fan of "The Natural," too.

I’m still waiting for him and Dana to get together. Someone needs to swallow their pride and take the first step.

I can see the advice from the ‘Natural’ to Farve now: “Win the Superbowl, try to re-negotiate an unrealistic contract, then quit while you’re still champ, like I did.” What cowardly sound advice.

Randy kind of made a fool of himself with the price altering facts he told the press. Hopefully things will be amended soon and he will get back in the octagon and make it right with his fans.

Well, since Green Bay are the only non profit, community owned pro sports team in the US, i think if anything they should be teaching Randy “I want more money, so if you don’t give it to me I’ll quit while champion” Couture some things. What a joke. Maybe if they ever win another championship the owners should just fold the team so nobody can say they aren’t still the champs. Have fun doing your C level movies, Hollywood.

I am pumped for this to occur. I am a huge Green Bay Packer fan and Randy Couture fan. I would love to see the picture of Brett Favre and Randy Couture shaking hands. 2 great people in a great picture has to be worth something. Quit hating on my packers and Randy Couture

This just in, Brett Favre quits the greenbay packers because he’s sick of swimming upstream with Packer management. He said he only wants to play against the New Englad patriots because they’re the only team that it makes sense or him to play. Other Packers expected to follow suit.
Also just in, every Packer will be holding an individual press conference to discuss the “disrespect” they faced.
Sorry guys, no source on this one.

Wow. A Polish guy who loves the Packers? Who would have ever thought….And people are hating on Couture because he’s a fraud who took his ball and ran home. And i cant wait for the Packers and their non existant run game to be exposed. Favre cant throw the ball everytime.

And why is this news? And why is anyone still swinging on the SCrouture? Like Favre needs someone to give him a pep rally on “TOUGH”. Most consecutive games played at QB ever, yeah, he needs help getting tougher. Maybe Favre can give Randy some acting lessons while they’re together.

I also am a die hard fan of the Packers. I hold Randy in the same regard as Favre. This is crazy. Maybe Randy will do a seminar since he’s in town?

It’s a 4 fight contract where in the hell does it say you have to finish it out?… only the UFC does that. But so what?… Couture could make plenty of long term money doing something else… he’s 44 yrs old, take up surfing if he feels like it… 10 yrs in MMA is plenty. Or comeback and fight… we’ll see.

oops’ I mean to say boxing doesn’t do that… Couture has always said he’ll take it fight by fight… oh’ yeah’ I agree he stuck his big foot in his mouth… still would like to hear what he has to say about it.

The packers are publically owned, but they are NOT non-profit. You can buy shares of the team. And Randy’s message will be something along the lines of getting on the team bus and going home at halftime if they don’t feel like they have enough points.

No, Randy doesnt throw more INTs then everyone else…
Up until this year, Favre has been HORRIBLE at pushing the stupidest throws a QB should NOT make. Now that McCarthy has him a lil tighter… he is playing like he always should have been. (oh yeah.. MMA-mania… sorry.)

If the Packers NEED a pep talk to help them win one game this season, it sure isn’t against the hopeless Raiders. However, I still can’t believe that Oakland has as many wins as they do… But the Packers are what, 7-1. I want to see them play the Giants again now that the Giants got their new defense down. Big game against the Cowboys this week!

The Giants suck. They’re going to get Romo-ed in the ass again.

Google “Green Bay Packers Non Profit” and see what you get.

the packers are non profit. u can buy shares but u never make money. it is a donation to the team. all profits have to go back into the team.

Couture quit and gave up the belt so that 1) he could say, "hey nobody ever beat me for the belt, and 2) so he could come back again later on down the road and win it back so he could then be the FOUR time champion. Ooooooo…..
