UFC Quick Quote: Sean Sherk is getting restless (and so are we)

"The way the commission conducted itself was very unprofessional.... I've waited a long time for this hearing. I'm ready to fight. I'm ready to get this behind me."

-- UFC Lightweight Champion Sean Sherk tells Yahoo!Sports.com that he is not too pleased with the his appeal hearing yesterday before the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) that was postponed (again) until November 13. He was originally scheduled for August 6, but was granted an extension until October 31 to put together a solid defense. On Halloween, however, the CSAC "discovered it did not have copies of the 17-page brief that Sherk's attorney, Howard Jacobs, had submitted in the fighter's defense." The saga continues ...

The UFC should strip Sherk of the title, and have a vacant title match..
The whole LW division should not have to wait for Sherk to solve this mess>

on..sherk..they should fine csac..for all the delays if they are the ones to blame.

by PhilQNY on Nov 1, 2007 12:31 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

It was YOUR attorneys who perpetrated this whole delay by waiting until the 11th hour to submit a 17-page brief. The only two reasons I can think of why they would do that is either they were hoping the CSAC would not have time to review the documents and simply rubber stamp your appeal approval or that you would get yet another delay to hold onto that title longer than you deserve while they continue to look for ways to discredit the testing facility and the technicians. You cheated and got caught. Accept your responsibility like a man.

I think that last fight it was pretty to tell he was juiced up he just needs to shut his mouth and accept his suspension. Cheaters never win and it’s not if you get caught it’s when you get caught.

i cant believe it cost him over 520.000$ crazzy half million..and he gets to look bad.. gotta feel for this guy…matt hughes said it best..it takes a real man to deal with real problems..and not back out!!

I couldn’t agree more, but I have this shitty feeling that he will hold on to that belt. At this point, I hope to never see Sherk fight again. To defend the title once in 18 months is just pathetically inexcusable. I think that the UFC should make a new rule stating that a champion has to defend his title an x number of times a year or else forfiet the title.

Atleast 2 title defenses a year should be mandatory, or once every 6 months, if not you should be automatically stripped.

A guidline has to be established for this. Dana white and the UFC head honcho’s should not decide this on an individual case by case basis.

Strip this asshole. I dont say strip him cuz he cheated, u r innocent till proven guilty. Strip him for ruining the division!

IF he’s innocent, it’s not his fault he tested positive.

Oh yeah let’s just ignore due process for the sake of the lightweight division…This is a man’s lively hood and reputation we’re talking about, he deserves the right to appeal.

Seriously. There are some great “fighters” in that division who shouldn’t have to wait this long for a shot.

what a bunch of haters, im gonna laugh when he clears his name and dominates the LW division, no one can keep up with his pace, BJ is gonna get winded in the 2nd round and have to get facial reconstruction from the amount of elbows hes gonna receive.

There is a reason lie detectors are no longer used in court. They are easily manipulated. I knew a guy that killed someone during a drug deal gone wrong and passed a lie detector test.

I get restless when i don’t have my anadrol, oxandrin, dianabol, winstrol or even just my Dr. Pepper fix. I can’t imagine what this guy is going through. Stay Strong Sherk. Stay Strong.

I feel for Sherk, and don’t dislike Sherk, but WAR BJ Penn. Penn is the man who is taking the title regardless.

I don’t know if he’s innocent or not, but he obviously has a legal leg to stand on with his test results being so low. I hope he wins, I’m tired of hearing bad news within the UFC, one thing after another.

Seems tome he shouldnt call the commision unprofessional when they are deciding his fate so to speak.

His elbows are weak. They get points but I don’t think he’s ever a threat to actually finish a fight.
