The fact that Filho is not in the UFC is baffling to me… I know he’s good friends with Anderson Silva, and possibly wouldn’t fight him… But the fact that Zuffa have just sat back and watched one of the best MW’s on the planet cruise into the WEC… WTF?!? I can understand the smaller weight(Bantam and Featherweight) fighters making a home, but Filho in WEC is like putting a T-rex in a cage with a flock of sheep.

Back to the subject, this is great for Silva. This is what he needs to help him push himself up into the top 10 of the light heavies. Gabe Go is one of the best people to train with right now in MMA, and Filho and Silva are making great moves.

Maybe after Filho fights Trigg things will change, but I’m also baffled by the fact that they let him go into the WEC. Stick him in the WEC let him rack up a few wins and make a name for himself, then they can justify offering the big bucks for a fight with Anderson. Makes sense to me anyway.

I suspect that a petty beef between him and Dana will keep the UFC from signing him to a contract.

I think you’ve got the best UFC site, I think you’ve got a lot of good regular posters that make and a lot of freaken idiots who had a bad day at work, but more than likely a bad day at high school.

Silva and Filho don’t seem that reluctant to fight each other to me. Bisping and Rampage are willing to fight each other, and I’m sure if they fight they’ll say they just want to put on a good show, and Filho and Silva seem to have the same attitude. As long as Silva is champ, there WILL be a lot of money in it for them if they fight and I think they’d both accept, it’s just a matter of who people want to see Anderson fight next- and I doubt you can think of someone that’s a better candidate than Filho.

Biased much? He tried to get Fedor but the terms weren’t right. The UFC doesn’t want Lindland. Shamrock retired on his own terms and has since been avoiding legit top fighters, but you better believe he’d be back in the UFC if he really wanted to. Trigg and Dana seem to not like one another, but Dana and Tito hate each other and they make it work. Trigg isn’t in the UFC because he had zero use to the welterweight division and has only recently remade himself as a decent middleweight.

I totally agree. My only concern is with how thorough the guys running the facility really are. After all, a good team is only as good as it’s coach/coaches.

Thorazine, Did you see the K-1 Hero’s event with Jonnie Morton earlier this year? Bernard Ackah KO’d him & he was out for like 5min. After seeing that, I’m not so sure about these former football stars transitioning into MMA. Not to mention that he tested positive for roids. Judging by the Jonnie Morton example, I can see many of them looking to rely solely on their explosiveness & never apply any true technique. I could be jumping the gun but Jonnie’s athletic ability clearly wasnt enough.
