Any Given Saturday: Bas Rutten on the show TONIGHT!

Bas Rutten Any given Saturday

Mixed martial arts legend Bas Rutten will join us during our online radio program, "Any Given Saturday," TONIGHT from 9 to 10 p.m. ET.

Apologies for the short notice.

The former UFC heavyweight champion and current International Fight League (IFL) icon will be on the air with show host Luke Thomas from BloodyElbow.com to discuss the sudden resignation of his good friend and business partner, Randy Couture, all things IFL and much more.

To tune-in LIVE at 9 p.m. during the one-hour UFC 77: "Hostile Territory" special CLICK HERE.

Here's the number to call: (646) 478-5091.

Remember, this show is LIVE online and takes your calls — feel free to check-in and ask Bas or Thomas a question during the broadcast about Couture, the IFL, the pay-per-view (PPV) event this weekend or anything else MMA-related.

"Any Given Saturday" is fan friendly — check it out HERE at 9 p.m. ET.

If you can't make the LIVE show, but want to ask Bas questions, leave them in the comments section below for consideration.

This is going to be a great show. Bas is the man. Can't wait.

Note: We're working on booking another BIG guest. Hopefully we have some more good news later this evening. Fingers crossed.

If I had no life I might have got excited about this being the “2nd post”, but whatever…

Kinda unrelated, but has anyone here seen Bas Rutten’s guide to “Street Fighting”? It’s f**king hilarious!

I will try to listen to the show, but if I can not, can someone ask Bas this question.

“How do you feel about Kurt Angle, and do you think he really has what it takes to compete in MMA, and be one of the big dogs in the IFL?”

I would love to hear his answer on that.

Bas Rutten: STERIODS BAD, MORPHINE OKAY.

Kimo Leopardo at a WFA event on July 22, 2006 -Kimo tested positive for Winstrol resulting in a suspension two days before the fight with Bas Rutten.

Bas Rutten Quote: “Every guy who uses steroids to fight is a fucking pussy.”

Ruben “Warpath” Villareal was the substitution was defeated by Rutten in the first round via leg strikes resulting in a KO.

After the win Bas Rutten tested positive for painkillers hydrocodone and morphine. Both substances are banned by the CSAC.

Could Ruben Villareal have used morphine to counteract the pain of Rutten’s leg strikes?

if you had watched the UFC before it blew up and werent just jumping on the band-wagon, then you would know that Bas Rutten is a legend in the sport and should be shown proper respect.

Kurt Angle is signing a MMA contract with IFL, and he has some of the best wrestling in all of the land, and I think his stand up could be scary.

Angle could be great with coaching.

Bas, why did you decide to train Kimbo Slice? Of all the fighters that would have been honored to have you as a coach why a street brawler who’s past his prime? Do you think he has what it takes to be a top competitor in the UFC?

(I am aware he has a contract with EliteXC)

.. dude what are you talking about Bas Rutten was around the sport…he is nothing special .. and if he was… theyr would not be 16 comments in 24 hours.. i have respect for him… but the guy is just a tag a long… a parrot on any shoulder

yeah maybe as a coach, but not as a competitor. his neck is too badly damaged, there is no way the the athletic commission would let him step foot inside the MMA ring.

i’ll believe that he is going to the IFL when i see it. TNA has him locked up pretty tight contractually and considering the push and the money he’s getting in TNA, he isn’t going to walk away from that to work for some 2-bit MMA organization.
