With all that force behind his punches its no wonder he broke his hand on Hendo’s face.

Wow that’s hard…1800 lbs of force!…I wonder what the area of the pad is. Then we could get it in psi.
Oh yeah what’s going on with Mirko. There’s a story going around that he’s not returning the UFC’s calls. Any idea Mania?

It’s working…

Kind of reminding me of Ivan Drago showing the American Press how hard he hits…I think his and Rampage’s score was around da same.. " So whatever he hits..he destroys "

1800lbs of pure KO power. That was a very interesting Video of Info..Thanks for the Vid Mania..That was actually very cool!
I wonder if Chuck felt the full force of that? When you watch that V-Clip of Page hitting Chuck, you can see how perfect Page nailed Chuck. Eyes on chuck, Perfect distance between page and him-self, perfect velocity, and perfect aim. Chuck’s chin is good, but not against 1800lbs of power!

You know what is crazy it takes a lot less if you just hit someone in the right spot. IT would be interesting to to see if they could compare getting hit in the temple or behind the ear, compared to the jaw or the ever so popular top of the head haymaker. Even the Hairline/forehead considering that is the hardest part of your body. Then a comparison on one of those shots to the ribs or over the kidneys or right over a heart, liver, or just a good ole gut shot(barf).

Yeah I read the article, I hope the guy isn’t giving up. He needs to think about going to 205, and re-inventing himself. For 350k a fight, the UFC should make him cut the weight, or he will be the most expensive under card fighter in the history of the sport.
I also saw in the same article that Sean Sherk passed a lie detector. Apparently he is telling the truth about not knowingly taking steriods, interesting.

They got the animation wrong. His right foot was in front in the animation, which in real life, would mean a less power.

Does anyone else agree that the UFC has ruined mma with the ultimate fighter. There are a lot more fans know but a lot of them have no idea what they are talking about and they only like the people who win. I bet that every new UFC fan had no idea about PRIDE fighters or what PRIDE was. The only fighters they knew were the fighters on TUF and maybe a few more. I just don’t like the new fans they don’t know shit about mma.

Lie detectors are not reliable. They are not admissible in court for a reason.

Actually, the UFC MADE mma with the ultimate fighter. Before the Ultimate Fighter, mma was about as legit as dog fighting. Without these ‘new fans’, the sport of mma would not grow, and wouldn’t be what it is today.
But as far as the forum is concerned, I don’t like when ‘newbies’ talk nonsense and come up with ‘dream matchups’ that actually already took place, two years ago.

i can see your point, but the show has only expanded the fan base. I hadn’t seen an mma match until that show. It gets people interested, they watch more mma, thus learning more about the sport. Granted that show has some real idiots/cry babies on it! But it’s not entirely a bad thing. They say any publicity is good publicity. And remember, EVERYONE is a new fan at some point. Just cuz you watched it first doesn’t make you more cool than the next fan, it only means you watched it first.

I think Drago (not Pete Sell, the Rocky IV Drago) was up around 2100 pounds. Of course, he weighed about 240 pounds and was created as a Soviet science fair project with lots of roids, so it doesn’t really count. Also, he was a fictional character.

That’s easy, the boxer would have pulled his punch.
I would rather be hit by a bus going .5 mph than a spread shotgun.

They did say on Human Weapon that a muy thai kick can deliver up to 2200 pounds of force, and the human skull can be cracked with as little as 1400 pounds of force. Though the latter is only true if you hit the top, or the back of the head, where the skull is much thinner. Lots of boxers have died from getting hit on the top of the head as they were ducking a punch. Rampage could certainly crack someones skull with a punch like that if he hits in the right place.

Just like every other sport, you don’t need to have head coach knowledge or know the team history to comment or watch.
The hopes are making it accessible for as many people as possible to enjoy.

Plenty of new fans know a lot about MMA. Plenty of older fans don’t… and vice versa. Knowledge is on an individual basis and everyone has the prerogative to be knowlegable about a subject or not. It really doesn’t matter or effect how much you enjoy the sport.
TUF was great for the sport. I say, the more fans, the better. It’s more money in the sport, more smaller organizations to build up potential fighters, more gyms – all resulting in more bigger fights. UFC cards have been getting more and more stacked with huge matches – largely due to its evergrowing fan base – many of whom are new to mma.

Absolutely. Fortunately for the recipient of the blow, the full amount of kinetic energy isn’t absorbed (i.e. kick to the head – the recipient usually goes in the direction of the momentum and down to the ground, thusly redirecting at least a portion of that energy). In the case of most stikes, fighters also don’t always have the opportunity to get the perfect form (balance, footing, torque, etc. all while having full strenght with no effect of fatigue) and deliver 100% to every shot. A fighter probably absorbes a small percentage of the potential on the average good shot… but jeeze, that’s still pretty incredible.

The funny thing is that a lot of people think that Dana White created the UFC. He did do a lot for the UFC and if it wasn’t for him I don’t think that the UFC would be as popular as it is today, but he didn’t created the UFC.

alright if the NBA has the slam dunk contest, im all for the “ufc skills challenge contest”. it should start with hardest punch, hardest kick, hardest knee. maybe it could branch out to hardest punch in the clinch, tightest guillotine, ect. their could be some cash incentives, like the nba skills challange. id watch that in between bouts on spike or ppv. besides i wanna know who hits harder chuck liddell or rampage. who has better leg kick jardine or well you get the idea. and deep down, for some really nerdy reason i wanna know how hard every ufc fighter hits and kicks. god im turning into a ufc junkie.

just cause you hit harder doesn’t mean your a better fighter. As Bruce Lee would say, Bags do not hit back.

To bad they couldn’t do this with Fedor, then it would be just like the Rocky Movie.
“1800 lbs of force landing flush in your face = death. " – Lycan
Yes, but that’s a perfect punch thrown at a bag, which is soft, and isn’t moving. Fighters know that while hitting a bag you can really let go, while in a fight you have to be carefull not to break your hand. You also have to worry about over extending and being off balance, and you’re hittng a moving target.
Great vid

totally agree, just like the nba dunk contest doesnt prove whos gonna win. but it would be wicked cool to know all the stats for each fighter . . . although, im not sure why.
i am really curious as to how hard fedor hits without holding anththing back too.
fyi: drago from rocky measured in at 2000 psi. (on spike last night).

Who cares what these"newbs" know about MMA. I know a lot about it and have been watching for years. Who cares who they like or whether they know about Pride or what bandwagon they jumped on. I know my shit so who gives a damn about what some strangers think? Do you really care that much what they think. I don’t

In Boxing they teach that as a power punch, you can tell rampage has a traditional boxing style, im curious to see how hard Chuck hits, his stance is so unorthodox its hard to tell how he puts his power in his punches.

I don’t care I was just mad because right before I wrote this someone told me Wanderlei shouldn’t be a contender for the LHW title which is bullshit because he has already beat Rampage twice and I don’t care if it was in PRIDE he still beat him.
