I hope Evan start’s to turn his life around. He put up a really disturbing post on his website or myspace page a while back. Someone had posted it at mma forum, and his rant sounded really depressed and defeated, but he said he was trying to find the strength to quit drinking and start training. I hope he figures it out. I have seen first hand how hard it can be for an alcoholic to beat the addiction. It affects everyone around them, at least Evan has a real reason to beat the addiction and fight.

not to change the subject from your little game of arguing over the Internet, but I found this pretty funny. I checked out Tanner’s site and his blog, where he’s documented finding, purchasing and restoring the boat over the last several months, patching holes, etc. (including some pretty sweet pics of it in dry storage and being put back in the drink…no pun intended).

Anyway, he includes this:
“She had been sitting in dry storage, up in the yard for four months. Some say that a wooden boat will never be the same if it is on the hard that long. The planks of a wooden hull soak up water and expand, sealing all the cracks. When it sits out on land, the wood dries out and contracts, opening up cracks all over the hull. When she was put back in the water, we were all really worried about how watertight she was going to be. They lowered her down partly in the water and looked everywhere inside for leaks, lowered her some more and checked again. She was holding surprisingly well. There were only a few small leaks that are expected to stop once the wood absorbs a little water.”
