UFC 78 tickets on sale this week

ufc 78 tickets on sale
Online ticket sales for UFC 78: "Validation" on November 17 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., begin this week depite information we passed along a few days ago from the official UFC Web site.

Here are all the particulars:

UFC Fight Club Presale: Tuesday, October 2 at 10 am ET.

Newsletter Presale: Thursday, October 4 at 10 am ET.

General Sales: Saturday, October 6 at 10 am ET.

There is still no official announcement regarding the main event.

The Tito Ortiz-Dan Henderson rumor that emerged late last week appears to be just that -- a rumor. FightLinker.com heard word over the weekend that it could be a rematch between Ortiz and Wanderlei Silva. And, of course, there is the "other" possible rematch between Ortiz and Rashad Evans.

Stay tuned for more details. In the meantime check out the rumored UFC 78 fight card right here.

They need a serious main event to sell tickets, they need to have main event announced before they expect people to start buying tickets.

Tickets on sale for WHAT? WHAT is the MAIN EVENT?

by UFC_FAN on Oct 1, 2007 10:10 AM EDT reply actions

So far this card is looking much like UFC 72.
If not worse.

Please, something happen.

While I think the hardcore fans will buy tickets. I think its going to be very hard to sell out an event with no main event.

The card is solid, but it is really lacking the big draw.

Im very suprised there is no real good word from the UFC about what the card will be. Especially since the pre-sale starts tomorrow.

Im with Scott…
This is a solid card, but people arent jumpingon.
Shit, Im going…

by Luppers on Oct 1, 2007 10:51 AM EDT reply actions

Ill be there. But Im WAY less likely to drop big money on close up tickets….

Id hope that UFC would release a card TODAY before tickets go on sale.

i would love to see a ortiz vs. silva rematch

Luppers, you’ll probably have a good shot at getting seats in the first 3 rows if you were planning on buying the premium floor seats. I wouldnt be surprised if this event didn’t even sell out at all. They may even need to drop the black curtains over the upper levels so the home audience can’t see all the empty seats.

I am absolutely disgusted with the UFC because of how chaotic they made this event. It seemed like each and every week something dramatic changed to this event. I’m most pissed about them not even having the onsale info correct. But as of this morning, I AM SO HAPPY THEY DIDN’T GO ONSALE ON SATURDAY!!! At that time, I still thought it was Hendo/Tito. If I had dropped $1600 on 4 tickets for Tito/Rashad I probably wouldn’t even be still breathing right now. It’s almost as if the UFC was trying to con the patient east coast into buying tickets to an event under false pretenses – the ol’ bait and switch.

Ortiz/Silva would be much better to see than Ortiz/Evans.I would definately pay 40 bucks to see Tito get shredded by Wanderlai.

im going. Gonna be PIMP!!!

I’ll pay anything to watch Wanderlei abuse Tito. Personally, I doubt that we will see Tito vs. Wanderlei. Tito spent years ducking Dangerous fighters like Liddell, and has been happy to pick on wet-behind-the ears TUF fighters like Griffin and Rashad, or Fighting washed up old men (Shamrock). Tito beat Wanderlei many years ago, and I expect that Tito will take that win and run, not giving wanderlei a rematch. I wish that fight would happen. However, I really don’t think Tito has the ballz to step in trhe Octagon wit the “Axe Murderer”.

The UFC is really getting on my nerves. I* am from Philadelphia, and rarely get to see a UFC event live, without flying half way across the country. Finaly the UFC will be in the Tri state are (driving distance), and Tickets are going on sale before a main event is even scheduled. That is just bad business. I think the UFC is banking on the fact that the Tri state area rarely has an event, and that people will be so happy to have one in New Jersey, that they will pay to go and see any raggady event.

Dana White and the UFC Head Honcho’s are treating us try state area residents like they treated Ireland. Just put together a crappy card, who cares it will still sell out. I was really looking forward to going to that event, but I am not gonna purchase any tickets without knowing what the main event will be. Henderson is our only hope for a quality main event. Hendo has said that he will be ready to fight again in November. Everyother big Star, has recently fought or is booked already for other future UFC events.

I don’t ever wanna see Tito in a Main Event unless it is against an opponent that will beat the living crap out of him (like Wanderlei or Henderson).

I’ll tell you what will make this card pop. Wanderlei vs. Henderson Part 3, this time in a cage!!!!!! Now that is a quality main event!!!!!!!! Get-r-Done Dana!!!!

Even if the card is somewhat lacking I plan on going anyway just because Newark is close to where I live. I was wondering if someone could tell me what seating areas might be best without having to spend more than $100/ticket at the Prudential Center, if that’s even possible?

Also, how many tickets are you able to purchase as a member of the UFC Fight Club? Any help is most appreciated.

im gonna have to agree with mr dreams ufc 72 and validation are both pretty shitty the only thing is that i dont think it can get any worse that ufc 72 that was the most pathetic card since nufc 67…….. now some people might not agree with me on that one some people liked 67 i thought it was shity .
anyway that need to start posting some more fights DAMN IT

A lightweight Championship bout is going to be on this card, they are just waiting to see what happens with Sherk, I think?.

Hector vs Karo is reiculous, should be Karo vs Kos

John,

Congrats on the Phillies. I’m a Yankee fan and I feel sooo bad for all the Met fans at my work, that I had to throw on my official Phillies jersey, even if its Scott Rolen. Which actaully worked out to my advantage, because a couple of haters were claiming I went out and bought it yesterday.

Thanks, ViolentMike: Unfortunately the I had to suffer through that Pathetic Eagles game. The Giants sacked McNabb like 30 times, it was so pathetic. The Eagles r crappy when Westbrook is hurt.

Mike, I’m happy to hear that you didnt run out and buy tickets on Saturday. U were so excited, I was trying to tell you to wait up because the UFC didn’t confirm the Tito vs. Hendo fight.

Wanderlei vs. Henderson part 3, in an Octagon, now that is a main event that could save UFC 78

Yeah John, my Giants SPANKED your Eagles last night. The Giants only have 2 losses because they had NO defense the first 2 games. They gave up 45 to Cowboys week 1, then 35 to Green Bay week 2. Then it turned around in 2nd half of Redskins game, they pitched a shut out in 2nd half, and then only 3 to PHilly.

Sack after sack after sack. 12 of em! Osi had 6 himself! Both of which tied records. Not to mention Strahan passed Lawrence Taylor as the Giants all time sack leader (sob, sob L.T.) all in one game.

It’s all Sean Shrek’s fault, f*ck he should just admit it, even if it was a mistake.

I am still … so disappointed at the cards.

Giants arent as bad as everyone thought, and my eagles arent as good as everyone thought… all though its nice to see them stop the run for once!

UFC 78
Rashad Evans vs. Tito Ortiz
Karo Parisyan vs. Hector Lombard
Frankie Edgar vs. Spencer Fisher
Ed Herman vs. Dave Terrell
Thiago Alves vs. TBA
Akihiro Gono vs. Tamdan McCrory
Joe Lauzon vs. Jason Reinhardt

Seems like a decent card, but fight II of Evans Vs Ortiz could prove boring again. Evans better come out firing and fight up to his potential this time or there’s going to be a lot of pissed off fans.

-Is it my imagination or does Tito’s standup just get a ‘little’ better everytime?(Im not a Tito fan)

ehhh, I don’t know. But it’s definately debatable. I would say that sometimes, it looks like his standup has improved a miniscule to microscopic amount. Other times, he looks like he’s 3 levels below Matt Hammill.

ROGAN is the password I was provided. Its prob. not working because the newsletter presale doesnt begin until Thursday October 4. You’re a day early ;).

by UFCmania on Oct 3, 2007 10:24 AM EDT reply actions

An even better question – how does the Fight Club presale work? Do you just need a password to get tickets like for the newsletter presale? IF so, does anyone have THAT password? Mania?

Wait, actually, I don’t really care. There is about a 1% chance that I’ll buy tickets. I’ll go to ticketmaster and see what kind of seats I can get out of curiousity, but without a main event, and Tito/Rashad II, you can pretty much count me out.

by ViolentMike on Oct 3, 2007 11:20 AM EDT reply actions

This is ridiculous! UFC still doesn’t have a main event. The CFFC on Oct. 12th will probably have a better main event than the UFC!
