He seems like a good guy and balanced about his position. the moral would make him win but we’l see. the fight tells the story :)
these days its hard to predict if a fighter is going to be in mentalshape after all that media attention.
Good fighter! but we cant count out a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter with 8 wins a row.. debut or not. tough competition.

I’m not looking past his upcoming fight, but I really want to see this guy rematch Melvin Guillard. The two of them always come out swinging bombs and I havent seen all, but I have seen bits and pieces of their last fight, and it looked like an all out slugfest. Hopefully Guillard can avoid the blow and get back into the mix so that this rematch can happen.

first post yeah buddy!
This has turned into a joke, it really has. You’ll even spit out your little “…post yeah buddy!” comment when you are like the 6th poster.
People come here to share their knowledge of MMA, discuss, argue and even cracking a joke here and there. It is not a race to see who has nothing to do but hit thier ‘Refresh’ button over and over to see who can get the first post.

Chill out ViolentMike! If White Rhino wants to say that in his post and UFCMANIA is cool with that; then it’s okay for White Rhino to say that.

Yeah, 6th post!!
I wish Huerta would fight the guys already in the UFC 155 class and not be the welcome wagon for UFC newcomers. He’s got some great skills and it is time to put Huerta up against guys with more experience.

Roger seems focused and I feel he will easily put this guy away tom. night

I’m definitely looking forward to seeing Roger Huerta fight again. however, his next fight BETTER be against top 5 competition. Maybe he’ll fight the guida/aurerlio winner? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
Oh, and YES!!!!! I’m seventh! Seven heaven! woo hoo!

I like both Guillard and Huerta. They both like to stand up and bang, I think that Guillard would win by brutal KO.

No offense White Rhino, I just like to go off every now and then. Nothing personal at all. However, I do prefer AK-47 and Strawberry Cough over White Rhino… lol. I need to get outta here to get home to my goods!

I really like Huerta, but the one thing that annoys me is that he is used a little too much (by zuffa) to pull the hispanic/latino demographic. The Mexican flag Tapout shirts and the Mexican shorts are a little over the top. He was born in the US and trains in the US he should show at least a little more respect. Mexico didn’t make him the fighter he is.

Just like he did against Stevenson, before he tested postive for yayo that it. Right…

What, he’s fought essential nobody’s and now he “fears no man”? He was getting absolutely worked by that Canadian, before he stepped up. Maybe if they stopped feeding them these chumps his head wouldn’t grow. Whatever. He’s unproven.

Melvin just needs to learn some take down defense and submission defense. His standup is top notch.
by GriffinFan05 on Aug 24, 2007 4:29 PM EDT reply actions
so whats the story behind huerta and guillard i know he won by submission but why was it overturned as a no constest by the commision?
by santi203 on Aug 24, 2007 4:32 PM EDT reply actions
Maybe if Huerta fought people who have had fights in the UFC before, he would feel a sense of fear.

That’s a lot af hate on a guy who has put on some pretty decent shows in the UFC…. sure get the guy a top 5 155er, but that’s up to the UFC and Joe to get that done!

I think it was Guillard by split decision, but I don’t know why it was ruled no contest. Here is a play by play account of the fight.

I like this guy. He has a good head on his shoulders, and his fight game is very complete. I believe he will be champion one day, and will make a great ambassador for the sport.

I wrestled with roger in college, and i couldnt say nicest enough things about the guy. as an underclassmen he always looked out for me, his friends are very important to him. He is very humble. He simply will fight whoever they give him, and all this bs about trying to make his latino fan base bigger, you have no idea why hes fighting all the new comers, you all think you have the answers, but you have no idea.

Its not where he was born that matters, its the blood and the pride ! Its a Mexican thing…..
Oh.. and by the way hispanics are anglo europeans from spain and latinos are anglo europeans from italy … “Mexican”
