UFC 77 tickets for 'Hostile Territory' in Cincinnati on sale August 22
Cincinnati mixed martial arts fans and those nearby can purchase tickets for UFC 77: "Hostile Territory" on August 22 at 10 a.m. during the UFC Fight Club member presale, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
The October 20 event -- just the second-ever to hit Ohio (UFC 68) -- earned the moniker because current UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva will defend his title against the former 185-pound titleholder and hometown hero, Rich Franklin, in the main event.
"The Spider" crushed "Ace" via technical knockout (strikes) in round one to capture the belt at UFC 64 back in October 2006.
Tickets for the general public will go on sale on August 26 at 10 a.m. for the pay-per-view (PPV) show that takes place at the U.S. Bank Arena. There will more than likely be a newsletter presale sometime between the UFC Fight Club special and the general public sale.
Naturally, we'll pass along that information when it becomes available.
To check out the latest UFC 77 fight card, which also features a middleweight showdown between Yushin Okami and Jason MacDonald, click here.

This is tyhe worst card ever besides the whole Ireland bullshit card.
If Time sylvia is ready to go, then he must fight Big Nog, or Verra.
They also need to give burkman a tough opponent to boost this card. Burkman vs. Shinya akoi would be awesome. Get akoi over heard Dana, akoi has the ability to educate us dumb american fans (who boo every time the fight goes to the ground) how exciting grappling can be.
Isnnt tito vs. Rashad scheduled for this fight.
The next TUF season should be a tournament between all the LHW that came from former TUF shows.
HOw bout a LHW TUF tournament.
Rashad evans
Forrest griffin
Bonner
Bisping
Jardine
Throw in Houston Alexander
and 2 more fighters and we can have a nice littel 8 man TUF tournament style show to find out who is the best TUF alumni

Pretty cool pay per view name. What I am looking forward to is when Rich Franklin has to defend his title in Brazil when he has to fight Anderson Silva. I just wonder who Franklin will defend his title against first; logically I think it would be Nate Marquardt. Nate vs. Rich would be awesome.

I live in Ohio and went to the UFC in columbus (great card) but damn I might just get this on PPV, the card is really weak! I would love to see someone beat the hell out of Tim “the walrus” Sylvia in Ohio, VERA, NOG, etc. It is so funny that the only way Tim Sylvia fills up seats and PPV buys is from people who want to see him fight so they can watch his lose.

..Franklin will not beat Silva even if he fought da spider in his own back yard of house..the only one I see really making some noise to get that belt from Silva is Dan Henderson.

Dan Henderson Would F#%* up Anderson Silva and his week ground game. Anderson doesnt have the heart or the diverse skill set to deal with hendo. If and when they fight hendo by Knock out or submission

Anderson Silva is a wake up call champion for other fighters and fans of the UFC..I believe Anderson prepares himself extremly well for all his fights and would not be a walk in the park for Henderson..it would be a War..(hopefully). Anderson brings to the ocatgon many skills and heart when he fights..In his 3 fights in the UFC he has 2TKO’s and one Triangle Submission. I hope Dan drops to 185..I don’t see him holding the Gold in the LHW division. He has a " better chance " against Silva…key words " better chance ".

U people who think anderson silva has a weak ground game r nutts. 1st off has soon as u take silva to the ground he will control u with his freakishly long legs in a body triangle, control the fight on the ground. do u idiots realize that silva is a black belt in b ju jitsu. He is brazilian for crying out load! how many brazilian fighters have u seen wit a weak ground game? and dont say wanderlei cuz he does have a ground game he is just so brutal that he wants to knock people out.
Anderson is the truth, Hendo is great……… it would be a war. I dont know who would win for sure, but I can guarentee that neither of them will easily walk thru the other.

I am looking forward to a time where magic unicorns run wild, money hangs in bushels on trees, and the rivers turn to beer. Unfortunately, we all know what the odds of that happening are, and yet this is still a more likely reality than yours.

Those are just his title fights. Don’t forget his TKO of Leben. So he actually has 3 TKO’s and 1 submission…with Lutter being the ONLY one to make it to round 2.

At least you know what your talking about everyone thinks Franklin will beat Silva, but Silva destroyed him. As soon as Silva gets him in the clinch it looks like he has no idea what to do and while Franklin stands there looking like a fuckin retard Silva is kneeing him in the face and the body and then Franklin drops. It’s going to be the same thing again but Franklin will be prepared for the clinch and it will take Silva a little longer to knock him out.

I dont get making fun of Jorge, hes Richs trainer and corner man..plus hes a tough bastard…I honestly think Rich has as good as chance as anyone of beating Silva, dont expect a first round KO, I could very easily see Rich maintaining Silva for a couple of rounds, than Silva trying something flashy, flying knee or something wild, and Rich catching him..its not impossible,…i could also see Richs unorthodox gnp being a factor, like Bisping and a couple others, Rich does the standing hovering gnp, where he’s long enough to stand and throw powerfull bombs (like in Shamrock fight), but from this position he’d have to watch out for Andersons up kicks, which i have only seen in the Lutter fight, but im sure they can knock someone out….all im saying is dont expect this to be another one sided victory
by MMA Dude on Aug 15, 2007 11:39 AM EDT reply actions
Its hard to see Franklin winning this, though out of everybody in that division, he has the best chance. This fight should be better than the first, I somehow think Rich didn’t prepare for that fight very well. He typically goes into a fight without a game plan, just relying on his skills to eventually find a way to win. Hopefully he learned his lesson.
Henderson fighting Silva would be great, but its probably not going to happen. I believe Henderson intends on staying at LightHeavy even if he looses to Page next month.

Whats the point? they are already names in the UFC..TUF is for newcomers…I think it would be better for the Pride talent or other aquired talent going on Tuf winner getting a title shot or #1 contender match plus some money..but thats probably far fetched as well, seeings how most talent from Prdie might not speak very good english and the house would be full of people who didnt understand eachother, let alone the viewers

I wouldnt say Im a fan but rather I like to follow Rich Franklin. Of course I’d like to see him win, but there are just too many questions and concerns I have regarding what the actual outcome will be. Anderson Silva is a cocky mofo which turns me off especially since he cant even back it up with talk, all we get is the ridiculous dancing he does a la Carlston from Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
Either way this is going to be a very difficult match for Rich, but almost anything is possible. Maybe utilizing the clinch against Silva ? That may throw him for a loop haha.
In regards to Tim “bitch tits” Sylvia, who cares about this guy ? He needs a pushover fight to build up his confidence. Save the back problem excuse for someone who cares and get that guy on the treadmill.

Why pick your hometown to have your face crushed again? They better spruce up this card, though I’ll still be watching this with anticipation of Rich’s gameplan of breaking Silva’s knee with his face.

This card is a joke. With all the talent in the UFC, you would think they’d have NO PROBLEMS booking even 5 decent fights per month. I truely believe that the average schmuck on this site can do a better job at entertaining us fans with good matchups than Joe Silva. Does Joe and Dana think that Rich Franklin is enough to sell a PPV? That’s what they tried to do with Franklin/Okami in Ireland. At least Forrest was on that card. This PPV is shaping up to be one of the weekest ever.
Is it just me or do just about all of the upcoming PPV’s suck major ostrich testacles?

Franklin, hasn’t looked too impressive to me in his later matches. Where Silva seems to get better every fight. I think if Franklin takes it, it will be some kind of fluke on Silvas part.

You hear all this talk about Henderson taking the 205 and 185 titles (damn good chance imho) and BJ taking 155 and 170, but to be honest with you all I personally think Anderson Silva would be the most likely to do it. He could make 170 tough cut and he’d have lay off he weights, run his ass off and starve himself lol.
Seriously though, it’s realistic to say Anderson could hold 170 and 185; not that he has plans to as far as I’m aware. Any thoughts on that guys?

I feel bad for Franklin, after Silvas last fight when they said he was fighting Franklin next the camera went to his face and he did not look confident at all,I bet he wished he had one more fight first but I doubt it would make a difference coz I can only see Silva beating him even worse this time,he might even feel sorry for him and give him a chance at first so it dosnt look as bad as last time.

Ditto. Anything can happen and Franklin is certainly capable of pulling off the upset but Silva is just NOTW (not of this world).
UFC 75 is weak beyond the main event (Rampage v Henderson).
UFC 76 looks pretty good beyond the main event (Liddell vs. Jardine… Zzzzz).
UFC 77… not as bad as 72. Still a lot of TBA’s on there. Needs a little Viagra.

I think that these are all good cards, way better than last year’s events.
UFC 75 has a great main event, with Cro Cop vs. Kongo you know someone is getting knocked out, with Bisping vs. Hamill they’re kind of rivals and will go all out, and Houston Alexander vs. Alessio Sakara is going to be a brawl ending with a highlight reel KO.
UFC 76: the main event gets a lot of complaints, but its Chuck and Jardine- both are very exciting and both can hit like a train. Shogun vs. Forrest- its gonna be a war, just wait and see… it is much more even than people think. Sanchez vs. Fitch will be a war for obvious reasons, these guys both have a lion’s heart and are damn good at what they do. Griffin vs. Tavares may be the fight of the year.
UFC 77: Rich is a big underdog, but he is fighting in his hometown and will fight harder than ever before. And when have you seen a boring Anderson Silva? MacDonald vs. Okami is another guaranteed war and will probably end in a submission in a later round. Tim Sylvia is fighting on this card and he might start being more aggressive again, who knows. You saw how much of a monster he was in his earlier UFC days, and he still is, he just doesn’t push the pace like he used to. We might see a whole new Tim in this fight.
I’m buying all of these PPV’s for sure.

I woudn’t count Franklion out against Silva so fast. I’m sure that tape has been pleyed over and over in Cincinatti. Looking for the holes, studying that clinch and fighting his fight will be the keys to victory. Lutter discovered some stuff against Silva also.

Man I would like to have seen the old Rich fight anderson, a Rich at 100%. That is something we have never seen. He is scared for life since Anderson killed him, his fights since then have not been the same. I feel bad for him, in this state a mind, I feel his is gonna get crushed. But the Rich of old, that would have been a good one. Hendo and Spida will be a war.

Here’s what I think about the upcoming events:
UFC 74
Fights I’m dying to see = Randy/Gabe, GSP/KOS and Clay Guida/Marcus Aurelio. Other than that, there’s nothing special going on.
UFC 75
Fights I’m dying to see = Hendo/Rampage
Decent matchups that I’m looking foward to = Bisping/Hamil, CC/Kongo, and Alexander/Sakura.
Bisping should kill Hamil, the Alexander fight and CC/Kongo should be exciting
UFC 76
Fights I’m dying to see = Diego/Fitch, Tyson Griffin/Thiago Tavarez, Shogun/Forrest
UFC 77
Fights I’m dying to see = Franklin/Silva
And that’s it on this card.
UFC 78 – which I plan on attending
Fights I’m dying to see = Arlovski/Vera, and Penn/Sherk. But unfortunately the Penn/Sherk fight won’t happen.
I mean, don’t get me wrong. I thoroughly enjoy watching any two MMA fighters going at it, but the UFC is the TOP level of MMA. They should be showcasing better matchups in my opinion. I mean, the schedule above is from now all the way thru November.
Plus there’s been 6 weeks between UFC 73 and 74. Too long of a wait in my opinion, especially since 74 and 75 are two weeks apart.
