MY GOD! You guys are crazy. First of all he can make WAY more money as a pro fighter in the UFC than as a plumber. It’s not even close. Ex….Rich Franklin isn’t even that good and he makes over $1 million/year with salary and sponsors. Frank Edgar is a really good fighter. I think he could make great money at this. And Secondly, for the guy who said Edgar vs. Faber for the UFC Featherweight Title…….Relax big guy. The UFC doesn’t even have a FW division. lol I like Edgar too but he’s not close to Urijah Faber’s league yet. Slow down and give him time. Don’t get me wrong. He’s a great fighter. I’m an amateur MMA fighter myself. I’m in the middle weight division and I’ve been in martial arts for most of my life, but I’d still get my ass kicked by that little guy. LOL I just don’t think he’s ready for Urijah Faber.

Plumbers make good money, if they are union. He probably makes a lot more doing that compared to fighting.

I agree that he probably makes really good money as a plumber, but if Frank had to choose fighting or plumbing; I assume he would pick fighting, even though he would make less money. Frank is the real deal; I mean this guy beat Tyson Griffin!

He wouldnt have to be a plumber if he got paid decent enough to fight.

Yeah, its sad he has to work another job. Not sad as in I feel bad for him or this is tragic, just sad when you consider how big this sport is becoming, the fact that he is a rising star, but still can’t afford to do it full time because the money still blows.

Hey Mania, there is aparently an interview floating about somewhere with Check Kongo talking about training up in Big Bear and talking about how he thinks he should be next in line for a title shot if he wins in London,do you have anything on this?

You have to do what you have to do sometimes to make it happen in this world. This is a good kid who will eventually come ahead.

Frankie has a lot of talent, heart and most importanly – dedication. Its just unfortunate for him that he can’t train full time.

I heard Frankie DOES in fact train fulltime now…though he didn’t before Tyson Griffin. I beleive the source is FCF’s newspaper.

Frank Edgar is one of my favorite fighters. (He became one after he beat another of my faves—Tyson Griffin.) Thanks for the clip.

I don’t think I have ever seen him fight. Does anyone think they will give him a spot on the main card soon?

by grembone on Aug 15, 2007 1:04 AM EDT reply actions

If you google Tyson Griffin and check out videos, you can see his fight with Frank Edgar, one of the best fights I’ve ever seen. Also Griffin’s first and only loss.

Ya, I found a few good vids online. He looks good. Man, sticking out that knee bar was crazy. That was a pretty gutsy move. I am sure we will see more of Edgar soon.

Who do you guys think would win between Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber?

Urijah has too much skill & experience I think for Edgar right now. But that would def be one sweet matchup.
