I like Henderson and all, but I really don’t want to see him win this fight. There is just something that bothers me about someone holding that many belts. I like the variety of fighters and champions out there and the fact that styles still make fights. Having said that, I think style puts this fight in favor of Rampage.

Rampage is more disciplined than ever and is definitely the stronger fighter of the two, mainly because he is much bigger than Henderson. I fully expect Henderson to bring it and be on top of his game, but I dont expect it to be enough. Logic tells me this one will be a unanimous decision win for Rampage.

This fight should be good, fighters will be driven to win with all eyes in the MMA world on them. Its a bit worrying that his kid is due to be born around that time I hope he can keep his head in the game.

This fight is so big considering the winner unifies the titles, I want to see them both bring the heat (and I don’t mean Karo Parisyan).

..Nobody in his camp looks like a " RAMPAGE "..I see Page beating Dan in this one.

I wonder if rampage is training that hard???

by KOOLGUY on Aug 13, 2007 1:15 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Simply put rampage doesnt have the skill set or the intelligence to deal with a fighter whose arsenal is as diverse as Henderson. Henderson has excellent striking, grappling, wrestling, submission, an iron chin, and a will that up to this point has shown no weakness. Rampage can beat fighters that allthough great (chuck liddell) have relatively small skill sets. Henderson by T(KO) in the third, just like wanderlei (who many considered too big for henderson to beat).

Great video. Best part: “LET ME SEE THOSE KNEES! HE DOESN’T LIKE KNEES”

Going for the ChuteBoxe approach—-and I highly doubt Rampage is training like that.

i like your thinking, but when was the last time logic came into the picture, i believe henderson will win this fight and the factor will be, heart

agree with jared. i cant see rampage doing much in this one and just falling apart as the fight goes on. im looking foward to henderson vs shogun for the belt which could happen early next year. if shogun wins that it could be shogun vs chuck which is the fight that should be happening at 76.

nice to see some solid talent at 205 in the ufc. hey tito, stop fighting rookies and start fighting some vets. tito vs rashad 2 is meaningless right now. they should wait a year atleast before they rematch. if tito signs another contract with the ufc they better stick him in there with rampage, henderson and shogun.

every fight rampage is in he seems better stronger chuck shit his pants in that fight alls he did was run around the ring and rampage just walked him down and hit him with a beauty!

rampage will win 4rnd tko

Very interesting that they found it necessary to build an excuse into this video in case Hendo catches a loss to Page. Why else would they take time to specifically point out that his child is due on the same day as the fight?

Personally, I would never let any info leak about my training that could potentially translate to me somehow not being fully prepared. To play devils advocate, it could be bait to make Page believe that Hendo is distracted which in turn could cause Page to under-train thinking it’s in the bag. However, that idea holds no weight because Hendo is world class & there is no reason for any fighter to not be fully prepared when facing Hendo. TO make a loose analogy, Page not being ready for Hendo is like Gonzaga taking Couture lightly.

QRJ wins by TKO, 2nd rd. Could be a candidate for fight of the year no matter who wins.

Anyway, these are just my thoughts people. Feel free to disagree.

Rampage will win this fight. Hendo will give a hell of a fight, but I just see Rampage strength being too much for Hendo and as long as Quinten keeps his head right he should be victorious

looked like he was tossing soko around…thats like rampage with dreads….not to mention years of olympic greco leverage strength is better than brute strenth…no matter how you look at it the grappling advantage is Hendos….standing is the only chance Rampage has to win, and that will be extremely hard as well….

by MMA Dude on Aug 13, 2007 2:25 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I am pumped for this! I want Hendo to take it, I think this might be one of the hardest to call. But Hendo takes it 4th rd tko. Quinton will gas and Hendo will keep pressing the action. WAR HENDO!!

I think Rampage wins, and hopefully Hendo drops to 185 and takes over that division. He’s a hell of a fighter.

Definately not a Rampage. As impressive as Soko is, we havent seen enough of him to compare him to any fighter, let alone Rampage.

I reluctantly agree. I want Hendo to win this fight so bad i can taste it (whatever that means). Dan has the chance to win but its deff not gonna be easy. EVen with Hendo’s punching power i dont know if he can KO Page with that. But we do know Page has the ability to KO Hendo with his punching power and that kinda worries me. Wrestling if i tihnk about it i dont see that coming into play much in this fight. Maybe some tie-ups some clinching (with knee’s hopefully lol)but if it goes to the ground i see it getting stood up everytime. Page has the edge to win. With that said im still hoping for Hendo to take this fight.

He was NOT throwing Soko around. And I don’t think anybody at 205 has the brute strenght Rampage has, let alone Dan. Kevin “The Monster” Randlmen could not take Rampage down. I think that settles it right there.

by The Anomaly on Aug 13, 2007 3:14 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Im gonna have to call this fight two ways. If rampage doesnt finish Henderson in the first or second round, I truthfully believe Henderson will win this one the longer the fight goes(3,4,5). Im gonna go with Hendo 4th round via “Rear Naked Choke”.

maby because his wife has a baby due on sept8th,Ive payed for my tickets and I dont care about babys or whatever,I want no excuses form these fighters, they all beter show up and put on a good performance or the queen will have them arrested and made her slaves for all eternity.
Rampage can be master of the stool.

Middleweight Matt Lindland did ok against Page, so I guess its not settled until the fight actually happens

Too bad Henderson is an Olympic Wrestler, while Randlman is nothing in terms of skill to Dan. What will likely happen is Rampage will go for a huge slam and get caught in a guillotine, 1st sub.

You’re right, Lindland did just fine. I expect this to be a scrap & all but as far as wrestling ability, what does Hendo bring to the table that Lindland doesnt? From what I’ve seen & judging by their olympic credentials, they are a mirror image of one another in terms of wrestling ability. I know its in the same vein as MMATH but because Lindland & Hendo have the same wrestling credentials & have been training together for years, I’m inclined to believe that Page will handle Hendo’s wrestling just as well as he did Lindlands.

To Griffin: Randlemans wrestling is nothing to scoff at. His wrestling is incredible & although not olympic level still extremely formidable. The problem with Randleman is that all he ever had was wrestling & raw power. He was/is simply one-dimensional & obviously refused to round out his MMA game which is why his previous reign at the top was so short lived. He stopped developing while everyone else kept evolving.

Look I don’t know how anyone would be able to concentrate 100% if your child could be born that same night, that is something that WILL be on his mind come fight night. His wife ain’t too happy about it, she says she understands BUT we all know how women are, and this is the birth of their child, she says she understands but deep inside she is thinking that he chosed to fight instead of being there for his new born, and this is something that he may know as well. Personally there is nothing that would be more important in this world than to watch my baby be born. Mentally we all know that Dan won’t be 100% focused on Rampage. Oh well, we’ll see what happens.

If rampage doesn’t take this fight in the 1st round, it’s henderson. This guy is a dump truck and smart as hell. I don’t think rampage could handle him for 5 rounds let alone 3.

I’ll take henderson in the 3rd.

If hendo wins when is he ever gonna defend his pride welterweight belt?

by jimbo on Aug 13, 2007 6:30 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I see it as 50-50…Bloody hell, induce labour early, c-section, whatever lol…But having that hang over his head is a huge burden. That’s shocking by the UFC, Hendo got shafted there. The fight pales in comparison for Dan, I mean which matters more and which is he more proud of. Hopefully you guys see this is a rhetorical…it’s the belts of course! Nah, only kidding. Best of luck to Dan.

If Lindland had trouble taking Rampage down, then Hendo will have just as much difficulty. Rampage’s brute strength size advantage background in wrestling is enough to counteract Hendos’ superior wrestling skills.

This will be an evenly contested fight, but i think Rampage will win due to his ability to absorb more punishment, and because henderson will not be able to throw Rampage around.

On an MMA fan standpoint, i want Rampage to win so Hendo can beef up the MW division and take on Anderson Silva!
Though the though of Hendo vs Shogun, or Hendo vs Chuck ain’t too bad either.

Page will win. However Soukoodjou isnt a bad training partner. All though he is a Judokan who specializes in his kicks….. I dont c that helping Dan in his training

All Page has to do to win is to sprawl (avoid takedowns) which he does prolly better then chuck. and avoid that nasty right hand. Hendo isnt a hard fighter to prepare for.

Not bashing Hendo, he’s the man, but someone has two loose this fight. Rampage will win

by john on Aug 14, 2007 8:20 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Hendu is getting cocky. Hopefully Rampage clips him early, because Hendu is a much better all-around fighter. I’m rooting for Rampage but I would bet on Hendu.
