Ive always liked Diego reguardless. He’s a great skilled fighter. Damn this is a hard fight to predict. Fitch to win is gonna have to KO Diego cuz i dont see him catching him in any Submissions. On paper Diego has the better looking resume with wins over better fighters than Fitch has fought. But that dont mean sh1t i know. Im cheering for my Boy diego but wont be heartbroken if he losses to Fitch cuz he’s got skills.

If Diego fights like he did against Koschek, he doesn’t have a chance. I’ve only seen a couple of Fitch’s fights but he should give Diego all he can handle.

I definitely didn’t pick Sanchez to KO Riggs so anything can happen. Both guys need this win. Fitch has been unbeaten recently but- against weaker competition than Sanchez. Diego’s only loss to Koscheck was hardly a beat down but a second straight loss would really set him back.

I like both guys but I’m leaning towards Fitch.

I don’t know much about Fitch, but I am fan of Diego, and I have read a few of his interviews he seems pretty humble in those, not slagging anyone off and talking about how great he is. Fitch must be pretty good judging by the comments. It should be a good fight. Diego may be a little weird, but why would you want someone who puts on the performances he does, to retire. Did you not enjoy the Karo and Diaz fights. Unlike Sherk and quite a few others when Diego is at 100%, he definately gives you your moneys worth. May the best man win.

There is absolutely no way Diego will beat my man Fitch. Jon is way too strong for Diego and he will steamroll him just like he did to his last six opponents. Fitch will tear through Diego, win the welterweight title and probably hold onto it for the rest of his career.

I know that Diego already has beaten both Karo and Diaz — two fighters who command a lot of respect — but if Diego comes out and wins convincingly against Fitch, I’ll have a new perspective on him as a fighter. Until then, though, I have a hard time getting past the self-hype.

Let’s not forget that Sanchez had staph when he fought Koscheck. Of course, there’s always a “reason” why a guy loses (“I got caught” said The Iceman; “I had back problems” said The Maine-iac). But Sanchez with staph definitely took the snap out of his normal fight game.

Fitch is on a 13-fight winning streak, but he remains relatively unknown, at least to the casual fan. Fitch knows that beating Sanchez will put him on the map in a big way. At the same time, Sanchez can’t afford two losses in a row.

Gonna be interesting! Can’t wait. UFC has some great cards coming up.

I’d say Fitch’s style closely resembles Randy Couture’s. He is a dominant wrestler, very strong, gets his guys down and pounds on them. I’ve only seen one of his fights- against Carniero. As I recall he weathered a storm early on and came back and choked him out.

If you haven’t seen a guy fight, it’s hard to just take everyone’s word on how “tough” a guy is. I’d like to see Fitch and Koscheck wrestling each other in practice because they are two of the top four in the world at their weight (Hughes GSP).

Well he cant really pick and choose his fights. He probably in reality has very little say in who fights. He loses one fight by decision and then if he wins this one he will just be “half decent to jo blow on the street”. Thats one of the dumbest things ive read in awhile. He had an unbeaten record better than Fitch’s and he’s beaten better competition. Jon will be lucky to make it unbeaten as long as Diego did. Karo would beat Kos.

I think Diego took this fight because he is either a) underestimating Jon Fitch or 2) is completely dillusional. Actually, both may be true.

Diego will come out like a rabid dog but I guarantee Fitch will be expecting it. I think it will be exciting to see how he counters Diego’s aggression. I think we’re going to see some interesting things from Fitch in this fight.

Wishful thinking as he is not that underrated. He just hasnt fought the right guys yet to move up the echelons. He’s good but i dont see him making champ by 08 if ever. Its all heresay until he steps into the cage. I personally dont think He would be a ad match-up for hughes and deff dont see him right now beating GSP. Wow, I am amazed at the pure major dislike of Diego. Damn, he is one of the most exciting fighters out there, who gives it more than a 100% whenever he is in the octogan. As I said before I have read quite a few of his interviews and he never comes across as being arrogant or full of himself, if he ever does trash talk, it’s usually because it has already been done to him. I really truly dislike only two fighters, Koschek and Riggs, who both are totally ignorant and arrogant and who both really do not try to hide it. Ive seen alot of the word bandwagon and really most of the fans on here are pretty knowledgeable. You still get the ones that drop in and say something pretty ignorant fairly regularly. Ive been to alot of MMA and UFC sites and UFCmania is by far the best. Sorry Luke if any of my squabble with some of the posters on here had any part in ruining it for you. As “The Anomaly” said its much worse than usual. Im sure you have been to this site before or maybe you havent but most of the regular posters do get along most of the time. Just been alot of hot debated fights coming up so its been slowly getting worse.

Im looking for Diego to make a BIG statment this fight

There is absolutely no way Diego will beat my man Fitch. Jon is way too strong for Diego and he will steamroll him just like he did to his last six opponents. Fitch will tear through Diego, win the welterweight title and probably hold onto it for the rest of his career.

lol dude i think Diego is a great fighter. but at the same time fitch is too. i am a pretty big fan of Diego but this will be one of the hardest fights for him. comming off his fight with KOS he will be more like he was in his Karo fight. now about you saying that Fitch will take the title and keep it as long as hes in the UFC is retarded. the way i see it is if Diego dont beet him (witch i think he will) once BJ gets the light weight (witch i think he will) BJ is most likely comming back to WW and there is no way in hell Fitch will beat BJ. I would also like to see Diego VS BJ. im a big fan of Diego but BJ is really good so… but then again it could go ether way in that fight too.

Diego Sanchez has got skills, think for a second, the man went something like 20 – 0 in MMA. He had one bad fight, was not really beaten up or knot out. I think fitch is a good fighter too but to be frank he moves to slow to defeat Diego Sanchez. He has not fought anyone that great and didn’t look that good in is last fight. The only way he can win this fight is if Diego Sanchez shows up not in good shape.

Diego Sanchez all the way. TKO or really damaging Fitch like he to koscheck in season one.

Hey, no problem. It’s all good. I got to work on the debate more than trashing… so my bad. This sport would not be entertaining if you couldn’t be passionate about liking or disliking a fighter. That makes rooting for them even more fun I think (and I always like the underdogs). All of these fighters have personalities that people like and dislike. It is what they do in the fight that really matters.
