UFC Quick Quote: Josh Burkman booked for UFC 77 in Ohio

"My next fight is gonna be Oct. 20th in Cinncinatti @ [UFC 77] ... I learned alot against Karo and i'll be at a different level than i've ever been before. Thanks for the messages and support."
-- UFC welterweight fighter Josh Burkman reveals via a MySpace bulletin that he will return to action at UFC 77 on October 20 in Cincinnati, Ohio. It will be the first fight for "The People's Warrior" since dropping a unanimous decision to Karo Parisyan at UFC 71 in May. Burkman did not mention his opponent at this time.

I still think he is still a long way off from the top welterweights in the division. Sometimes a few losses make you better. Only time will tell.

He seems like he could have great potential but its time for him to walk the walk. He needs to put some people away!

I like Burkman; he’s a good fighter and seems like a good guy. This dude’s got game; I mean he got Arianny Celeste!!! If he can translate his pimp game into his MMA game; he would be a stud in the UFC. Regardless of whether he is ever a Top Five Welterweight, he is with Arianny Celeste and that’s pretty good. I don’t know whether they are still together or not, but just to have been with a chick like Arianny is amazing!

Karo had a few losses like the one he had before he became the person he is now.
It’s all about development.
Burkman will rise again, his girlfriend is too hot to motivate him to train. I’d be like “Damn I could go to the gym… or hang out with Arianny Celeste… tough call.”

Solid fighter, but I would be shocked if he ever holds the belt. Too bad for him its such a solid division.

alright i’ve got a prediction for burkman’s opponent here. it’s one i would love to see happen too….Dustin Hazelett. Hazelett would add some more local flavor to the card (he trains in cincinnati), he looked very impressive in wins against diego saraiva and stevie lynch, and this would be a chance to see where he really stands in the division. any thoughts from anybody else? (if Hazelett vs. Burkman happens by the way i’ve got hazelett by submission in the third).

Burkman seems real athletic and relatively strong which I like, but he got owned by Karo hands down. If he continues to improve he will definitely continue to be some good comp in the divison.

He’ll get spoon fed a couple of weaklings to bring him back up again, but now that he lost to Karo, he’ll probably not get a decent fighter for a while… Unless he gets the loser of Fitch vs Sanchez… Who knows

Burkman is an ass. That dude runs his mouth way too much. He actually looks like a rat, which fits his personality. I was happy to see Fitch completely destroy him.

The loser of Fitch/Sanchez? Did you mean Sanchez? Even if Fitch were to lose, they wouldn’t book Burkman/Fitch 2. Fitch completely dominated Burkman. Burkman was totally out of his league and was out classed by Jon Fitch.
