Nice vid, thanks Mania. Is #8 the cobra choke a wrestling hold? I’ve never seen it before.

Holy sh**t that dude was out for ages on the scissor choke…

Damn it i’m at work and I can’t see the video i’ll have wait. One thing i’ve always wondered is if anyone has ever been submitted by an Omoplata in MMA? Not an Omoplata used to trap the arm and then footlock ala Frank Mir vs. Tank Abbot, but just a deep Omoplata, arm wrench over the head. Anyone know or know of a video or both? That would be cool.

My co-hort posted that video originally, but some of those submissions are mislabeled.
4 looks to be an ezekial choke, 5 is a back crank, and 11 is a d’arce.

yeah, chonan’s flying scissor heel hook should be added.
Or really any of aoki’s.

I have only seen Ivan Salaverry do that body triangle submission, yet fighters often get that posistion on their opponents but never attempt this. Does anyone know why this is?

Nick is a beast. He’s a well rounded bad ass that will fight anyone. Everytime he fights, its an exciting fight, win or loose.

As I stated above, it isn’t just a back crank.
If you can obtain back control with the body triangle, you have the option of sinking your hips forward and in while tugging on your opponents wrist to pull them back. It doesn’t always work, but when it does it’s highly painful.

I loved that scissor choke also the Monson North/South Choke.

Everybody has their own favourite. Mine are the Gogo’s and the Brabo (or is it a d’arce? Arm in is a d’arce, isn’t it?). Least fav, the scissor, cause really, that’s a 69 position you’re in with another dude. That’s just not cool.

Mike Brown is one of my favorite fighters to watch… anyone that catches Bodog has seen his intense fights.

The rarest of MMA submissions … Emmanuel Yarborough’s submission victory by smother. (He was the 600lb sumo wrestler who fought in UFC 3.) Does any video footage of this exist?

Diaz’s win is one of the most impressive upsets in years in MMA. Gomi is -IMO – be the best 160 lb fighter in the world; I think he’s even better than Penn. Diaz is one of those guys who can look like he’s dominated one minute, and then the ref is raising his arm the next. I’d love to see a rematch between these two.

I think he was referring to Grove’s win over Alan Belcher via D’Arce choke.

Need to add Jason Von Flue’s crazy shoulder choke while guilotined that he used on Alex Karalexis. The D’Arce choke from Kendal Grove was also nice.

because that was simply an arm bar. This video is of Rare submissions. You see an arm bar in every MMA card.

He gets side control, grabs the ankle with his right hand, wraps his left arm around the neck and pulls his hands together basically bending him in half sideways. Look at the knee just before he taps. You can either choke out or loose your knee.

Why didn’t the guy who got scissored try to separate the guy’s legs? I liked Mir’s shoulder lock.

Always nice seeing Miletich get choked out. His group is like the Cobra Kai of MMA, and he is John Kreese.

In IFL show I watched a couple weeks ago on FSN, something similar happened to Marvin Eastman. Some no named BJJ guy ripped his arm out of the socket. Marvin really didnt want to tap I guess. Luckily no breaks, or we wouldnt be seeing him fight McFedries at 77.
