UFC Quick Quote: Third time the charm for Herring?
"If you want my Texas analogy, me and [Antonio Rodrigo] Nogueira fighting is like putting two cats in a burlap sack. We get after it pretty good.... We're old hands. We've seen it all between the both of us.... When they called me to do this fight, I was like `All right, let's do it.' Nothing I haven't seen before. It's something I know how to prepare myself and what to expect. And I imagine he does as well."
-- Heath Herring -- who is healthy and has two fights under his belt inside the Octagon -- tells the Canadian Press that his experience in the cage and previous fights with his opponent at UFC 73, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, will help him win this time around. "Minotauro," a former PRIDE FC heavyweight champion, has two wins over Herring (decision, Anaconda Choke) that date back to 2001 and 2004, respectively, and is making his UFC debut this weekend.

I like Heath and all and I feel like too many fans, who are new to the sport, don’t give him the respect he deserves because of his debut, but he only has a puncher’s chance in this one. Big Nog is definitely a top 5 heavyweight in the world, who’s hands keep getting better and who’s jiu jitsu has always been at the top of the food chain.

He was OK in pride but can’t seem to do much in the UFC. Sucks, I used to like him and he has been pretty much a disappointment so far.

…I think styles make good or bad fights..in this case there styles work in putting on a good fight to see. Like O’brian doesn’t have the same Jiu Jitsu that Minotauro has..but gave Heath problems..da wrestler type..now Minotauro is the submission technician who works smoothly on the ground..in which heath can perform better against.. Now I believe the out come will be the same..but a very good fight to see..indeed.

O’Brien had absolutely NO jiu-jitsu, but he is a black belt in blanket-do. He got repeated take-downs and never once attempted to pass guard, use a submission or strike from top position. He’s terrible and has no business in UFC.

A third fight for these two and it’s still exciting. I wish it was Vera in there getting an ass kicking by Big Nog but Herring will work. The fight is good for him to showcase skills for American fanbase

I think it’s stupid that they’re fighting again when Big Nog already beat him twice, if I were him i would have said no to this fight, cause there’s no point in fighting him again if I alraedy beat him twice. That’s what i think, also for some reason i have feeling that Nog is gonna lose, they way people are talking like Hearing doesn’t have a chance, makes think of what happened to GSP or Cro Cop.

Herring is such a disappointment. The guy has some talent, but losing to the best of the best doesn’t make much of a career. Perhaps he needs a new training camp, but the guy doesn’t look like he’s developed much over his career, peaking at “pretty good.” In a perfect world, his re-re-match with Big Nog would spark a fire under his ass to train with top-notch guys and learn some new tricks (like how to use the cage to his advantage or improve his submission defenses), but I have a feeling it will be the same old Herring en route to the same old result.

Heath “candy ass crybaby fat belly” Herring is gonna get worked over real good during this match up. Maybe the UFC should have done him some favors and thrown him in against another pot belly crybaby a la Tim Sylvia who is just coming off of surgery or so we are told. Big Nog takes this one in the late part of the first round.

I’m pretty sure that isn’t his fight name. I’m also pretty sure no one, save for yourself, calls you “cuts”.

Kevin “verbally cuts one” Kelly
Noguiera gains nothing with this win. Don’t know how many fights Herring has on his contract- maybe four? but he’s almost washed up.

i think heath will win this fight no one engages him in the ufc. big nog will push him and we will see the real heath. plus hes been in the cage for two fights and that helps alot

Heath can’t hurt NOG bottom line. There is a WORLD of things NOG can finish Heath with.
IT’S OVER!!!

Dude, “candy ass crybaby fat belly” is almost as lame as “cuts”, but not quite.
Sylvia would hand Herring a beating…and to suggest that the Sylvia has not been recovering from surgery is weak. Why would you question this???
The better fight would be Sylvia versus Nog. That would be interesting…All the internet Timmy haters would be disappointed when Nog loses in what would be a one-sided contest.
Herring/Nog should be entertaining. I expect Nog to take this fight, but I won’t be the least bit surprised if Herring pulls off the upset. Say what you will about this guy, he’s f…ing tough.

to have these guys fight for the 3rd time makes no sense to me…there are always controveries lately with matchups since ufc wants to protect their top guys bla bla but the fans want the top guys to fight every time n not get a “warm up” match..an upset can happen no doubt but you have to play with the percentages and create each division in different categories…ex. for light heavy weights a division with Liddell, henderson, shogun, ortiz, jackson, etc. etc. n then B division with Sobral, Griffin, Jardine, Alexander, etc. etc. n then have everyone fight someone who is ranked at their level which truly decides who is the best…

I’v not seen the other 2 fights but was told they were ok so this looks like to be a war. The fighte know each other and both need the win so it should be exiciting.

It’s not a UFC rematch…and it’s been 3 years since they last fought.
I’ve changed my mind…put the money on Herring…he’s taking this fight
