Here’s hoping Gracie Fighter is proved wrong yet again as with some of the sensationalist news stories coming out around the strikeforce ppv last week. Was only thinking how good UFC 76 could turn out to be with Wanderlei vs Chuck rumoured to be the main event and the debut of Shogun in the octagon as the undercard special feature.

His opponent was unknown, certainly not Eddie Sanchez, who is a heavyweight.

Dude, nobody is pissed off. Calm down and try not to start sh*t with the administrator.

I hope this isn’t true as well. It would be awesome if two chute-box guys could simultaneously make their debuts. My only fear is that Shogun would be held back from the title because Wanderlei gets their first. We all know how they will never fight each other. Shogun is too good not to hold onto that belt.

It would only happen if Chuck wins. But yeah this does suck. And it seems like Shogun is making that same dumb*ss smile in every pic. I was glad to see that this is an old pic, at first I was like what the f*ck does he to be smiling about?

Sanchez? where did you come up with that? No wonder Mania seemed annoyed by that comment, especially when everyone knows he’s likely fighting Ross Pointon, and I smell an upset, Shogun could shock the world and win this one.

Rofl, some people dont take pics well….

Shogun has to get a starter fight or 2 in the UFC. His career is just starting, and Dana knows how marketable he can be down the road.

i was trying to think of a “dumb” combination that the UFC would use!!!…is that OK?

That’s the “buzz,” but that might be driven more by what fans are clamoring to see and not what is really going on behind the scenes.

Griffen vs Bisbing would be a GREAT WAR!

by Gweedo on Jun 28, 2007 11:18 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

damm i wanted to watch him fight especially against babalu well do you think babalu is still going to fight him

by bryant on Jun 28, 2007 11:57 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeah if Shogun is off UFC 76 then Dana will def make Chuck fight Silva for main event. Otherwise I heard Dana wants Chuck fight Silva in Vegas either October or November. I don’t know why they let champs to hug thier belts for 6-8 months, they should be fighting every 3 months of course depending on the injury.

Damn this sucks

by Stafo on Jun 28, 2007 12:11 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I think they will still push for Babalu as an opponent. Would not be smart to come in with an injury on your octagon debut, so he definetly won’t push for 76. They want Shogun to shine. If this injury helps Push the Liddell/Silva fight…I’m all for it. Although I felt Shogun particpating at this event would of helped get Wandy over to fight Liddell at this one.

Well if your asking me if it’s ok, I’m gonna say NO. Gweedo it’s not ok for you to “think” out loud, because I said so. Thats right I am now the boss of what you can say!

Mania, just read an interview of Shoguns posted in the Sherdog forums saying his knee is fine, he hurt it went to a doctor, and its fine, he laughed about it, and said he is ready to go.

Yup, just read this on mmanews.com as well. BTW is it against the rules to link to another mma site?

that’s about everyone (in the UFC anyways—outside it, you got Ricardo Arona and maybe K. Nakamura). But speaking of “Top Talent”, you really think Hamill should be mentioned in the same breath as these guys?

Shogun versus Brock Lesner!!!

Too bad for the casual MMA (UFC) fan, Shogun Rua is a Bad MF’R. Hopefully it’s not career ending. I want to see him avenge his lost against Babalu.

Furthermore…Griffen, he’s really good but “Top Talent”? Rashad, we’ll see in a couple of weeks if he’s “Top Talent”? Tito, come on, “Top Talent”? Lambert, there’s no way he’s “Top Talent”, Jardine, there’s no way he’s “Top Talent”? Houston (one UFC fight, albeit a good one), already “Top Talent”? No way!!!

You’ve mentioned some very high calibre talent, but aside from Chuck, Hendo, Silva, Rampage and mabye Shogun; none of the fighters are deserved of the “Top Talent” descriptor. Notice I never mentioned Bisping…he’ll be there soon…after he is given a big time opponent (I guess the guy he faces after Hamill)

What about Soko?…Surely he’s a top tier fighter…Shogun has a mongo sized jaw.

Or Houston for that matter. He was getting the worst of it standing until they clinched up in a dirty boxing match.

Hamill shouldn’t be there. Soko, Arona and Lil Nog should be there
