This site is really great. They keep getting better. Joe Rogan has serious man love for Anderson Silva. He should do his PR.

by UFCmania on Jun 18, 2007 4:37 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Silva is a scary dude, especially after what he did to Franklin, I mean that was the worst injury I think I have ever seen in the UFC, although I dont know what happened the James Irvin recently, Does anybody know what actually happened?

Silva by TKO Round 1

silva vs marquardt should be awesome. silva will force marquardt to be exciting. two great fighters.

by Fidel Cashflow on Jun 18, 2007 4:47 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Excellent card. Great fights. The Silva fight should be interesting. He did not look so invincible in his last fight against the Travis “almost dead” Looter.

by JaCoB on Jun 18, 2007 4:48 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Marquardt beat Lister who is certainly quality but that’s it. I didn’t see it. Silva is probably going to kick this guy out of the cage.

Has anyone heard whether Travis Loser will get another fight in UFC?

And Silva pretty much put it to Okami also (outside the UFC) before the DQ. Franklin said he was surprised at how strong Silva is for his build.

This fight card is too sweet. I hope the fights are exciting, rather than boring. Silva is goin to keep that belt until he fights Franklin, n I hope Franca wins his fight against Sherk. Sherk is to fragile not GSP got that BloodyBuddy..

by St. Amour on Jun 18, 2007 5:24 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Marquardt is tough, but Silva is going to destroy him, Sherk will dominate as well. I like Franca, but Sherk is way to powerful and the fight will be on the ground within the first few seconds. Also, really looking forward to seeing the UFC debut of BigNog, he will dismantle Herring (as he has done before)…the tito fight is self explanitory!

by titojr. on Jun 18, 2007 5:26 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Marquart is gonna get dismantled…unless silva forgot to train. Even then hed prolly woop that ass

i see marquart getting hurt in this fight.i think anderson will give him a real beating even though nate is a good fighter

by owen on Jun 18, 2007 6:16 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

this is definetley the best card in UFC history in my opinion main reason is that my fav three fighters are fighting tito anderson and sherk it is also the best website that ive seen to for a ufc event

by adam on Jun 18, 2007 6:17 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

2 title fights in one night, that’s pretty cool. Plus, you get Tito “Big Head” Ortiz against one of the best new 205er’s. There’s also some guy named Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira fighting. I hope that he’s a good fighter b/c I’ve heard a lot about this Herring guy. ;)

I said earlier, UFC 73, 74 and 75 just make 72 look soooo bad.

by Freddy on Jun 18, 2007 6:42 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

i don’t see silva wanting to clinch with nate, if he does nate will take it to the ground where he is better than silva, if lister can’t sub nate and lister if a much better grappler and sub fighter than silva how will the spider fare on the ground.

by Kiwi on Jun 18, 2007 7:32 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

its definitely going to be a great event.

What the hell are you talking about…???? Franklin was dominated during the fight, not really injured that bad compared to others….i.e. Silva vs Mir…..and who cares about James Irvin.

dude his nose was smashed to the side, it was one of the worst broken noses ever in the octagon, Rich had a busted sinus bone and had to go through several hours of surgery awake right after the fight and he said it was the worst experience of his life. I highly doubt Tim Sylvia had as much pain with a broken arm as rich did with his nose.

Is Tito and Rashad the main event? That would suck, not giving the main event to Silva…I hope Tito get’s smashed.

Irvin broke his ankle. It was a pretty flookish injury the other guy went for a takedown and his ankle just kinda got stuck as Irvin was going to the mat. I was sitting probably 150 feet from the octagon and could here his ankle snap from there.

No Silva/Marquart is main event…Tito will not lose this fight. To much on the line

by Stafo on Jun 18, 2007 9:37 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Rashad is going to take it to tito hard. As long as evans cardio is good to go, he will take care of tito probably by unanimous decision. Rashad is younger, faster, and far more explosive. I am a big tito fan but this fight will show that tito has lost a step.

If there are title shots in the mix. They are alwasy the main event. The silva fight is the main. Sherk/Franca is sub main. Tito and Rashad are just another fight. That’s why this card is so awsome.

I still do not think that Nate Marquardt deserves a title shot. All I remember is that Ultimate Fight Night where he was the main event vs Ivan Salavery. All night the kept on saying how great Nate is and how nasty his stand up is. At that point in time, I considered that the worst and most boring fight I had ever seen. It sucked. Why is that all I remember of him, because ever since then, Nate has not even had a televised fight. That would mean that technically speaking, his last fight was a Number One Contender match up and it was part of the prelims and didn’t even get televised at the end. I don’t know how this guy has as many fans as he does. He put on a Tim Sylvia vs Asswerio Silva performance in his only ‘seen’ fight. The 185lb division just sucks. I’m really pissed off that Dan Henderson is fighting Rampage for the 205lb title. He is a 185lb fighter, and thats where he should be fighting. Plus with all the recent signings, 205 is now a stacked division (2nd to the welterweights in my opinion) and MiddleWeight is by far the weakest.

Also, if Anderson Silva wins, I don’t think that Rich Franklin has a shot in hell to beat him. He will not even get a moment of sleep the week leading up to the fight. I know I wouldnt be able to if I had to fight someone that did that to me the last time we fought.

by ViolentMike on Jun 19, 2007 9:37 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

You guys sure are quick counting out Marquatt. This guy is a stud. I expect a war with these two. Nate will try to take it to the ground. at their level, No body is going to destroy the other unless one makes a bad mistake. That’s my prediction.
Nevertheless, this is an awesome card. can’t wait….

Ok yeah his nose was broken pretty bad but come on dude…You cannot compare what happened to Tim Sylvia’s forearm….SNAP!…..to Franklin’s broken nose. Broken noses are a common injury in fighting. The forearm is one of the strongest bones in the body. I think Nick Diaz’s orbital bone fracture was worse.

by Russ on Jun 19, 2007 6:12 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I honestly feel the only chance 185 pounders have of beating Silva is with a great grappler. I really doubt Nate will last long standing with silva I agree with Rogan and feel he leaves all the other middle weights in the dust on his feet. The problem with franklin is he loves to stand and bang and this equals a repeat of the first fight, he isn’t the best wrestler either so I really can’t see him beating silva the second time around. His best chance of regaining his belt is if Nate takes Silva down and pounds him out, and then fighting Nate rather than Silva. Franklin matches up much better against Nate than he does with Silva, I know a lot will laugh at this but I think Matt Hughes has a better chance with Anderson Silva than Rich Franklin has, because he won’t stand win him and is brutal on the ground. I really don’t know who’s going to win spider vs Nate but I’m leaning towards the Spider, I think Nate wants to stand with him and I think thats a big mistake.

hey take it from me ive broken my nose n my forarm.. not as bad as tyms where it was completely split but it still hurt way more.. n silva will take the fight in the 2nd or 3rd round by submission… marquardt will prollly take him down.. silvas td defense isnt that great but i think silva will still win… then lose to franklin in the rematch…. big nog will kill herring… n tito wins by decision… n sherk will come out with tko

i know the silva/nate fight is the main event but the first thing you see when you pull up the web site is tito and evans. they make it look like they are the main event. they made a big mistake not promoting nate. he is a good fighter but silva is a great Samari

anderson is gonna lose

I really hope Sherk loses he dont deserve to be a champ!!!!!!!!!!! only fought once last year n fought none this yeear he sucks……….

As far as Nate vs Silva fight it will end in 25 seconds of the 1st round with a knee in the temple of Marquad…….

The only reason that the UFC is marketing Ortiz-Evans as the main event is for promotional purposes, obviously. Everyone obviously knows who Tito is and a lot of TUF newbs like myself are familiar with with Rashad. The reason why they’re not promoting Silva-Marquardt as the main event because the general public isn’t all that familiar with who Nate Marquardt is.

You nailed it, Nate is the whole reason it’s not the main event, after this fight he just may have more name recognition…

I really want to see Nate win. Nate destroyed Lister when they fought and Lister was supposed to be really good. I think the scores were like 30 to 25! If Silva does win, hopefully Franklin would beat him.
I know I’d be scared to get in the octagon with someone who destroyed me like Silva did to Franklin. I really think Franklin’s mind wasn’t in that fight. You can tell by the way he looked before the fight. In a rematch I think Franklin would win. Silva really didn’t impress me with his standup against Travis Loser when they faught. As long as Franklin can avoid Silva’s kung fu grip he should be fine.

Ya i agree, UFC 73 makes 72 look like it should have been free. As for Tito, i hope he gets kicked in the chops…i hate his attitude and Rashad is the man do it cough sean salmon cough
I don’t know what to think about the main event since i haven’t even seen Nate fight. I also think people are counting Hermes out a little to fast, theres always a punchers chance.

nate the great is the 2nd best 185 in the world. he is the jon fitch of 185 but is getting his shot, he will do good. franca v shrek is the best fight though, look for franca to beat sean and then lose to penn in his first defense, also anything will happen in the tito evens match but make mine tito. the big nog is my fighter, but why have him fight another pride guy, ficket v lytle is good also. hope we get to see it
