Hey, gotta have a back-up plan in case the UFC thing doesn’t pan out. Right?

I’ve been close like that in AC…it’s gotta be the worst feeling in the world…

He did very well. I play poker online every weekend at Pokerstars ( free chips only in case the IRS sees this, ;) ), and followed the leaders of the $2k tourney once I saw Swicks name. He did very well for an amatuer. Kind like how he fights, he gets close, and then busts out.

losing his money doesnt really sound like a back up plan

I’m really interested if Swick will move down to welterweight or not. I feel he could really shake somethings down in the 170 pound division. But until the UFC calls theres always poker…

If he busted out just before the money, than I cant imagine he lost too much. Probably didnt hurt as much as Okami’s ground and pound.

You get the same for busting out right before the money as you do for busting out 1st: nothing. He lost $2000 that was the buy in to the tournament, but the fact that he busted out right before the money doesnt mean he lost any less than if he busted out in 5 minutes.

For all of those that did not easily find the relevant part of that article:

“Another interesting run was that of Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Mike ‘Quick’ Swick, who amassed a decent stack before busting out just short of the money, which the players reached before the end of the night’s play. "

Can’t wait to see Swick at 170. Maybe Swick would be a good fight for a possible October matchup in Montreal against GSP? The guy was in the title hunt in 185. Why not in 170?

Swick is goin to get demolished early, then he might just move down even more to the 155 division. GSP is goin to Run this foo out of town.
