lambert fighting who?? maybe forrest griffin?? chuck lidell??
good fights so far can’t wait to go. i love shogun glad he is in ufc. the two fights shogun vs machida and fitch vs sanchez looks like they will have determination down the line of next title shots. i heard who ever wins the shogun fight is fighting the winner of the rampage vs hollywood fight. and still not even a main event fight yet. maybe matt hughes is fighting but my guess is it’s a heavyweight main event

Why does Leben keep getting fights? He keeps gettin beat up. So what he knocked out Swick, doesnt mean a rematch is necessary. I’m tired of over-hyped fighters (Leben, Herring) gettin rewarded with good fights, while quality low-key fighters (Starnes) get nowhere.

Don’t worry about Leben. Mike Swick will dispatch of him quickly in an Anderson Silva sort of way.
Shogun vs. Machida fight confirmed. Good matchup. Shogun wins by TKO round 2.

this event is gonna be sick without a main event, how sick would this card look with vera vs liddell being the main event?
by RT on Jul 13, 2007 11:44 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Shogun/Machida is more of a main event than Vera/Liddell imo.
by KneeToTheFace on Jul 13, 2007 9:23 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
i guess lidell is fighting in main event but no worthy opponents. i doubt it will be vera his first fight in a long time they won’t give him chuck nor if he were to drop down in weight class they will throw him a bone. vera might fight on card as heavyweight since no heavyweight bouts yet nor lightweight. maybe roger huerta might fight on this one. i heard it might be lidell vs jardine.

Definetly will be there…Dana please deliver Liddell/Silva

Liddel/Jardine as a replacement for Liddell/Silva at 76. This makes for a good fight but it doesnt make any sense. Jardine just got his ass kicked against Houston Alexander.

Liddel/Jardine as a replacement for Liddell/Silva. Great fight but does not make sense being that Jardine got killed by Alexander

Am I the only one who doesnt get this Main event. If not for what may be a great undercard I would not purchase this fight. It doesn’t make any sense to me! Liddell needs to put himself in title contention again! And lets face it I think Jardine is as good as he will ever be, mediocre contender. Lidell should fight some up and comming lightheavyweight like winner of Bisping vs Hammill! Show he is still dominant, a win over Jardine that takes any longer than chucks loss to Jackson is an embarrassment!

no, i agree with u ufc fan. I think Chuck should fight Machida if Shogun isn’t. I think that fight would be a snoozefest though. Whenever two counter-punchers go against one another there is just a lot of dancing around.

Shouldn’t Rashad Evans fit in this puzzle somewhere. I tired of money making fights pitching pride fighters right up the ranks while great fighters like Rashad is stuck fighting has beens.

and for all you Leben haters u should know hes do for a win,
he ducked an easier opponent to fight Martin in fight night 11, obviously he is out to prove something. his stamina is better than ever and he trains with Couture and team quest. I think if he stays busy he can win a decision over the hard hitting Martin but not as versed in complete martail arts as Leben.

who in their right mind would let keith jardine fight chuck liddell
by cox on Jul 25, 2007 12:59 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Liddell-Jardine still doesn’t make any sense. Hopefully Liddell puts him away quickly and without incurring any damage so the fight against Wanderlei can happen later this year.

they should switch up the two main fights for sure. liddell vs shogun as main event and griffin-jardine 2. who cares if it’s too soon for a rematch forrest can and should have beaten him.

Yeah wonder what Chuck is thinking like hey Forrest gets Shogun and i Get Jardine. Jardine is good and could win but the odds are against him. Hell i dont care i like this match-up because id rather see Griffin fight Shogun than Jardine again. and chuck needs some confidence back.

No title fight on this one (as of 7/26). I think every PPV card should have a belt on the line. We still have two months so maybe one gets added.

i totally agree with liddell/shogun.. griffin/jardine 2 even sounds good.. maybe in the future i guess .. the undercard looks kill though. WHERE IS VERA !!!!

Im glad jardine is getting his time in the spot light its about time!!! i hope he knocks chuck out…liddell is way over rated and i think rampage proved that……as for griffin/shogun..griffin has no chance..its good to finally see REAL fighters in the ufc!!!

Dana White is just looking out for his boy Chuck. Don’t give him someone too difficult for his first fight back.

Be honest at first this match up with Chuck sounded flat out lame but if my suspicions are right this might hopefully lead to Chuck vs. Wandy in Dec. since Silva is confirmed for that date but no opponent is listed yet.If it goes down that way I just might shit my self!

no matter who goes against MAURICIO RUA whether it be chuck liddell or forrest griffin it will be a sad day in the MMA world this will be the first official death in the sport brought to u by Mauricio RUA. it is LUDACRIS that these MORTALS (iceman/forrest) even attempt to ENTER the REALM of MAURICIO “SHOGUN” RUA, this will be the first FATALITY performed in the octagon. my prayers are with the family members of the apponents of SHOGUN. hahaha!

shogun rules!!!
i saw the setup give lidell a easy 1st round knockout opponent so he will have enough strength and health to face the aex murderer in dec. i am cool with that i don’t think lidell has never fought 3 times in a year.

Fitch and Sanchez is the only fight that looks good to me. Big yawn otherwise.

chuck liddell vs. keith jardine will be a easy victory for the iceman but when he faces THE AXE MURDER it will be that much easier for WANDERLEI SILVA to defeat chuck liddell

Griffin-Tavares should be a tough match-up too. But otherwise, yeah, the fights look easy to predict.

I don’t get these fights, shogun should be fighting liddel and griffin should be fighting jardine in a rematch or something. Or how about alexander fighting liddel, he beat the crap out of jardine and chuck just lost his title, the match makers are on crack I think. It seems obvious that there trying to give shogun and liddel easy fights that they have a very good chance of winning to set up a big fight for the number one contender. For me the only close fight on the main card is sanchez and fitch, if its a normal night liddel and shogun will destroy there opponents.

155 lbs.: Tyson Griffin (9-1) vs. Thiago Tavares (13-0)
This is a tough one to call?
Any opinions?
I’m actually picking Griffin because I think his stand up is better.

i am looking forward to this event more than any other one i can remember, two fight of the year nominations in diego/fitch and tyson griffin/tavares, two great lhw fights that should provide ko’s and both having upset potential, they could have just those fights and i would pay the 40 bucks, shit i’d pay the 40 bucks just to watch diego fight fitch…plus machida is fighting, he’s not very exciting, but a very good fight none the less and nakamura, that guy he’s fighting has 6 losses, but those losses are to barnett, w. silva, little nog twice, dan henderson and shogun, so he’s fought some big names and should be ready for a scrap, maybe he’ll push the pace and fall right into machida’s counter punching trap and get laid out…also i love jeremey stephens, he’s a bad ass dude, and i think the anthony johnson/rich clementi fight is gonna be a surprisingly good fight, and i’m picking clementi to win…great card, can’t wait…

love shogun but i also like griffin
like the kaz vs machida fight. all the main card ones are good. can’t wait to go, buy some souveniers and hope fully this will be the first of many

Thats cuz Rashad is a B-rate fighter that got a draw with another B-rate fighter, Tito Ortiz.
