Yahoo Sports adds MMA to its boxing section

Add Yahoo!Sports.com to the growing list of mainstream news sites that has now has dedicated mixed martial arts (MMA) coverage.
The page seems a little barren, but that's to be expected since it apparently just went up. Don't expect it to last long, however, especially with former Las Vegas Review-Journal boxing reporter Kevin Iole now on the payroll.
Iole is educated on MMA and has done some really nice work promoting the sport. Definitely bookmark the page and be on the lookout for some nice features.
He seems to be one of the favorites for the UFC -- he was recently included in one of the event trailers, in fact.
Hopefully, this soon has some great exclusive content much like NBCSports.com.

Before I started roaming the MMA sites, I got some info from the yahoo sports boxing area… Then I went to Foxsports on msn.com because they had a bit more MMA content. But now… UFCmania and a few others vastly eclipse any national sports info page.

You know I hate the word cage fighting,it goes perfect with all the bullshit boxers say.
I try to educate people to use the term MMA coz to me it does more justice to the fighters and says alot more about the skill involved.

All I have to say is I’m kinda bummed they put BOXING on the MMA section. Kinda takes away some of the attention to MMA.
