Thanks, Savage, for the heads up on the broken link. That was fast.

Red Interactive always designs a cool site for UFC events but has a very strange interactive home page.

After looking over the fight card again, it isn’t quite as lame as I originally thought.

Franklin – Okami… This could be a really good fight.
Griffin – Ramirez… Forrest is at least an entertaining view.
MacDonald – Singer… I like MacDonald as a fighter.
Guida – T Griffin… The Carpenter is fun to watch.
Smith – Herman… This should not be a prelim.

Still probably won’t purchase the PPV, but with it reairing (looping) starting at 3pm ET, I will probably catch it at the pool hall.

Uh oh, losing posts again…aaaargh!

In my opinion this card sucks, I can’t believe they didn’t make it on Spike TV. I hadn’t missed a single PPV so far, But I’m not motivated at all to pay for this one. I thought the poll UFCMANIA did about cutting the price in half would help but I guess it didn’t. The sport is going to be affected financially for making an event without a belt

They’ll still make a decent showing I bet with all their new found fame. I split them all in half so I’ll get it but we’ll see what they do. Of course lately I pay it all back in ten fold on the bets I keep losing.

If you wanna stop losing bets just ask Couture what fighter he is picking and you’ll get it right all the time

maybe at the bar… if i can find one that buys it

This card is not on the LARGE side, but looks decent.

Franklin – Okami… Not the best headline fight I’ve seen, but should be good.
Griffin – Ramirez… Forrest is entertaining, so that helps PPV purchasers feel good. :)
MacDonald – Singer… Singer is going to get his ass kicked
Smith – Herman… This should be one of the main fights, next to the Macdonald – Singer fight. Not sure why it isn’t.

Overall, the PPV should be good. some new names is always good (ask Houston Alexander).

I’m really excited about Okami/Franklin Fight. Franklin should win this in the second round or so. The rest of the card , I hope they just put on an entertaining show cause I dont care about them that much.

by c-war on May 30, 2007 7:28 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Okami and Franklin are both excellent well rounded fighters. After saying that, I still think Okami should try to take this one to the ground if he wants a chance to win. He is very strong and can have his way with anyone if he puts himself in the right situation. Franklin on the other hand does have a little better stand-up game, but is just as devestating on the ground as well. The guy knows exactly what he’s doing, goes in with a plan, and has an extremely huge heart. He probably will know most of Okami’s every move. If Rich Franklin fights like Rich Franklin, he should take this one to victory by KO or TKO in the second round.

Put SHOGUN on this card..than yeah it’s worth it.

by PhilQNY on May 30, 2007 8:45 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

i dont think this card is bad at all…Rich is my favorite and he has an extremely tough fight, i think Rich can take it..the thing about Okami is, he also is good in someones full gaurd, he has long arms, and good punching power….Okami hasnt fought anyone as strong as Rich yet, i dont think we will see Rich go back to the corner and say how strong okami is…Forrest is exciting and needs to get a win..Ramirez is also entertaining, he just got caught by Irvin, and he took Rashad to a BS decision, this one will be a nice fight…lw Griffin vs Guida will be awesome im sure…Smith vs Herman will be good as well….im sure they will show most of these fights, the show will start at 3 and im thinking they will run it continuosly all day

I live in the Uk so I will buy the PPV,its often the fights you dont think are gonna be much that turn out to be absolute wars,I think Forrest is gonna loose.

Not interested in this at all. I like to hangout, drink some beer. But not at 12 in the afternoon. They should delay this on spike that night. Definantly not worth paying for. Rich Franklin is a bad ass and I think he will woop Anderson silvas ass but I will not pay for THIS. I agree, I will go to hooters or something like that.

If u dont watch this PPV you are not a big MMA Fan, So run along jack. N yes there is some alternative things rather than ordering it. For example go to your friends house n split the bill, go to the bar, watch it online the next day, or go to Wild Wings they have free drinks in there. If u dont have any friends well u are all alone. U cant go the hooters or wild wings alone cause there is not a lot people n there is no 1 sit.

they should lower the price to atleast 19.95 and besides the main event .. i would love to see herman vs smith.. hopefully they air it.

by LongIslandguy on May 30, 2007 12:14 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Looking forward to the Griffen/Guida fight. The main event will be really good. This is definetly a 185 showdown. Okami is no joke. Of course you can’t forget a possible Shogun apperance. I still don’t think I’m forking out the $40 for the PPV. I will watch this one vent at a bar.

by Stafo on May 30, 2007 12:15 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Don’t expect Shogun to appear on the card. Shogun was signed last week and there was ample time to add him to the site to maximize his draw and improve the PPV status but they seem to have chosen not to. I know we’re all UFC fans here but i say boycott this UFC card … it’s not worth the money. Buy the Strikeforce card and send a message to UFC brass that they can’t put a card like this out and not pay the price.

by Fightlinker.com on May 30, 2007 1:33 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

fightlinker, some people want to watch this card..why boycott it..if you dont want to watch it dont by it…im sure the ufc already knows its a mess, its just to late to do anything about it…boycotting it would just be retarded, it may not have the biggest names, but im sure it will be better to watch than the strikeforce card

Couture is 38-18, yes? Anyone else see Fight Network ATF? I deleted it just yesterday, dammit.
That sounds about right, though.

Agreed, bro. Like the way you think. I’ll be getting Strikeforce next month.

Aside from the main event, this thing is a pile of crap. I’d pay $19.95 to see Franklin-Okami but not a penny more for the rest of it. Yes, I like both Griffins on this card but they aren’t fighting anyone.

by Mamas Boy on May 30, 2007 4:30 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I dont get PPVs seeing as Im a lazy slob, live with the rents and dont pay for TV. Usually just watch fights if they are aired at a pub or whatever… Id really like to see the Strikeforce fight, but will have to stick to watching it next day.

Im interested to see if we are going to see the animal Rich Franklin or if he is going to be as timid as he was when he got his ass beat. Okami looks to be a tough fighter, but I see Franklin breaking him loose standing, then grinding him into the mat on the ground.

Couture has an advantage over everyone. A close personal relationship with the fighters in question. It’s a lot easier to tell when you know what’s Really going on with a fighter or in their camp. Even if he doesn’t know personally he’s the kind of guy who get’s reliable info through the grapevine. It’s not luck or psychic or anything like that. It’s good reliable intel.

I think im gonna pass on this PPV. This card is a poor one, except for the Okami Fraklin bout. I think this card could have been much better.
