Ultimate Fighting Caption: MMA Dude via Rear Naked Joke

Congratulations MMA Dude.

In our first ever caption contest, MMA Dude came out swinging for the fences. And with a total of 144 entries, it wasn't easy coming up with a winner.

If we had a prize for most obscure reference, that honor would most certainly go to MWA for his throwback to the 1980's My Buddy doll that came complete with advertising jingle.

Truth be told, I did have Sirchokemout in the top five for his line about Arby's, but since I love the market fresh sandwich and the closest Arby's is 40 miles south, I had to disqualify him for screwing with my appetite.

What I did find surprising (and a little disturbing) was the number of puns that referred to gay sex.

I know it's 2007 and all, but for purposes of this contest I'm going with a "Don't ask, don't tell" policy for all submissions.

Second place goes to Russ for "Sweep the leg." Not just for quoting screen legend Martin Kove, but for fleshing out the motive Johnny had for sweeping it in the first place: Both he and Kreese knew that Daniel was the better fighter.

Honorable mention goes to SGT Cmin for the tried-and-true "Do you want to be a F&^*ing fighter?" and Kenny the Swede for "Look Chuck! I've got a lion on my head! HAHAHAAAHAAAHAHAAA!"

Enjoy your prizes gentlemen. As for the rest of the gang, your submissions were both enjoyable and greatly appreciated.

I expect you all to return for next month's caption contest. I hear first prize is a signed glossy of Tim Sylvia. Only $40 shipping and handling.

I still think teh one where Dana was thinking about the “LOST” episode last night was the best, but oh well, that was MMA dude also.

I guess it helps if the Judge’s have seen LOST and unfortunately I don’t watch it so the reference was LOST on me. LOST, get it? Blech, I’ll leave the one-liners to MMA Dude.
