Reminder: UFC 71 Countdown and All Access with Rampage air tonight

UFC 71 countdown and all access
"Countdown" to UFC 71: "Liddell vs. Jackson" is scheduled to air tonight on the Spike television network at 10 p.m. EST.

Right after at 11 p.m., Rachelle Leah will go "All Access" with Quinton "Rampage" Jackson while he prepares for the highly-anticipated rematch on May 26 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jackson is tempting fate with this television special -- most fighters who appear on the program prior to their bouts end up losing them.

Matt Hughes, Georges St. Pierre and Renato "Babalu" Sobral all come to mind.

However, something tells me Rampage either knows nothing about it or he can give two shits.

Regardless, it should be a solid two-hour block of programming that is designed to get viewers pumped and excited about the upcoming event this Memorial Day weekend.

Not like I need it.

The curse of Rachelle Leah, i thought i was the only one who caught that, if they dont lose that fight, they lose the next, Tito and Franklin, that means Chuck should lose if the curse is real!

by thenovemberact on May 21, 2007 9:56 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I’ve noticed that in a lot of the fights rampage has lost have been due to knees strikes, as for example Shogun and Wanderlei. Curious if Chuck will implement these for the fight, because the guy can sure take some hard punches to the head.

by mrskorpion on May 21, 2007 10:04 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

So far seems like Chuck is a bit subdued.

Yup…the Rachelle Leah curse…Looks like Rampage is gonna be taking a snooze on the mat after the night is done…

Dude is that Barnett Parisyan is with?

Parisyan often trains with many of the Punishment guys or those affiliated with them. (Barnett)

by Stafo on May 21, 2007 11:23 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Barnett? Barnett is not punishment? Josh Barnett? The pride verteran?

Those also affiliated with them. Read my last quote. He trains with them quite often

by Stafo on May 21, 2007 11:53 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I know dude, I just didn’t think Barnett had anything to do with punishment.

by The Anomaly on May 21, 2007 11:57 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

If that’s true, than Tito should really be trying to get Barnett to help him train. But Burkman is punishment, at least that fool is always with Tito, so Burkman and Parisyan are both punishment?

Yup…the Rachelle Leah curse…Looks like Rampage is gonna be taking a snooze on the mat after the night is done…

thats the first thing i thought, the curse is reliable for betters. The little whore sleeps with them to steal their mojo and then makes millions betting… Just joking… or am I?

by BLOodyMEss on May 22, 2007 12:06 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Parisyan comes in from time to time. Burkman does the same. They have actually trained together in Big Bear. I was real suprised to see this fight go down, but I’m glad it’s going to happen. It needs to be like this. There not the best of friends but they have sparred before and know enough about eachother

Team Punishment:

There it is…Stevenson’s in that pic also. Guillard is another Punishment guy. I’m sure you saw that fight. Same situation

Yeah thats why I was suprised it was going down if they were bothin training together some times, but glad it is. It will be a good one.

Joe is my fav. LW. Anybody know where he’s at what his contention status is? He should be fighting soon no? Close to a title shot I presume.

Personally I think Joe should be next in line. Or Maybe winner of Joe/Kenflo

I dont know how he is today, but I do believe he gets winner of Sherk/Franca.
Pray Franca wins. Sherk is another GSP, injured all the freaking time. I wanna see a champ defend 3-4 times a year. This 9 mons between title defenses sucks.

No wonder they lose!! After hanging out with that girl you’re gonna have her later, even if she doesn’t know about it.

Serious!!! What the HELL man!! That’s BS. I to was very frusterated with GSP. For such a devastating figheter he is pretty freakin fragile.

by The Anomaly on May 22, 2007 12:21 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

That comment MTUFC, right there, has single handedly convinced me to root for Franca.

True, but sean had a serious shoulder injury that required surgery so it took him out after the last fight.

I wanna see that guy back. I think he will do quite well. He was very impressive against Rashad.

Not just that one, his whole friggin career is nothing but win fight, out with injury, lose figth, out with injury. Check his Sherdog scorecard. Look at all the gaps between fights.

Aww man, he seems really good, like he has potential to be a legit contendar, but I hope he dosnt join the GSP injured club.

It does not matter if u like chuck or not, he prove himself as the world’s greatest. He kept the title for 4 1/2 yrs. that is impressive in my book, so what if he is fat, i don’t care. Knocking every opponent out priceless.

by St. Amour on May 22, 2007 1:48 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I really liked the Special on Rampage. He is probably one of my favorite personalities in the MMA world.

Anyway, I think Rampage will break the Curse, I am gonna hold my ground and say I think he will win, but MMA is full of surprises.

What are u talking about. Yes GSP had to pull out of two fights recently the one where Penn filled in then they had to push back the Serra fight but he fought almost every other UFC before that so I dont think you can say he is injured all the time because of two injuries.

Did you just start watching MMA? Sorry dude, get your facts straight. When he held that Canadian orgs title, he was injured then too. And after the Karo fight… He’s brittle.

by MoreThanUFC on May 22, 2007 10:20 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

not to sound gay or anything, but when your body looks like gsp, or sherks, with so much muscle and barely any fat, it tends to wear and tear more so than others…either becuase of the body structure, and lack or muscle resistence when mma is a sport where its good to be limber, or for the simple fact that they obviously push their bodies extremely hard anyway

by MMA Dude on May 22, 2007 10:35 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

So you went to Big Bear? Interesting.

The show was an in-depth coverage of his training wasnt it? The ONLY thing CL has to do is just “think” about winning and he will. Just like the little engine that could.

Yes dude. Two injuries is all the time. They have had to completely change two events because of him. Especially if what he is saying now is true. That he was injured but fought anyway, however if it was Hughes he would have pulled out. Apparently he almost did it again. Man up George you should know how to train better than that.
I love GSP he is great im just sayin, can you name another figher that has had as many injuries, that have had as much of an influence on teh events as GSP, nope.

I would love to go to big bear and see that DUMB ASS rampage train as if he’s actually going to win…. LOL!! And as for confidence, if anyone goes into a fight already convinced there going to lose, GUESS WHAT…. they WILL LOSE. I hope your smart enough to understand this, but if your still reading kid stories, WELL…. I GUESS YOUR NOT.
