UFCs Drew Fickett has beer muscles

UFC welterweight Drew Fickett competed in the Abu Dhabi Comabt Club (ADCC) World Submission Wrestling Championships in Trenton, N.J., earlier this month, losing in the first round of the tournament to Canadian sensation Mark Bocek on points.

"The Master" apparently wanted more ... and went after it later that night in a drunken stupor, according to the MMAInsider at BodogBeat.com.

I personally can't attest to the validity of this account, but the attention to detail the way it's described sure does sound like it did indeed happen.

Here's a snip:

"... fighters in town ... switched their focus from the battles to the bottles and gathered in a hotel bar. Chief among those killing brain cells was mixed martial arts fighter Drew Fickett, who'd been keeping a steady pace since the night before. Shaking hands and buying drinks, he stumbled from table to table like the orangutan from the classic Clint Eastwood movie ‘Every Which Way But Loose.'

Bottle after bottle, his mustache was never dry.

I'm not sure why, but one of the Brazilian fighters refused to shake his hand. Fickett did not react well. Moments later, hotel security was dragging him away, shirtless and howling."

That wasn't the end of Fickett's night, however. When the writer decided to call it a night later on, he tried to head back to his hotel room, but was accosted by an angry and crying Fickett.

Here's another snip:

"... the elevator doors opened on my floor was to find myself face-to-face with a shirtless, weeping Drew Fickett. Nevertheless, there I was and there was he, the fighter who had knocked out Josh Koscheck with a flying knee, Drew Fickett, shirtless and weeping.

I can't say for certain what my facial expression told him that night but I can tell you this: He didn't like it.
‘F*ck you! You motherf*cker!,' he shouted.

The ‘fight or flight' instinct kicked in. I chose flight."

Fickett is fresh off a unanimous decision win over Keita Nakamura at UFC Fight Night 9 last month. His next appearance in the Octagon is unknown ... hopefully he pulls himself together between now and then.

So the implication is that Drew was drinking the night before, and then I guess directly after his ADCC bout and on into the night?

He’s lucky he only lost on points.

Back when he was ‘the’ martial artists in Hollywood, he got knocked out flat by a bouncer at a NY Strip joint… this musta been 1993ish. Career kinda fell to B movies after that.
