UFC 70 weigh-in results for 'Nations Collide'

Earlier this morning -- United States time -- the 20 fighters on the UFC 70: "Nations Collide" descended on Bridgewater Hall on Lower Mosely Street in Manchester, England, to weigh-in for tomorrow's event.
Here's how one of our readers, Rob, described it:
"Just got back from the UFC 70 weigh ins 20 mins ago. Arlovski looks awesome!!!. Bisping looked real serious in the stare down with Elvis....no hand shake at all... Cro cop was all business...did not sit with the rest of the fighers...just came on, got weighed and then left...he looked in better shape than he did against sanchez....cant wait for tomorrow.."
Pretty cool stuff.
Here are the results, which were passed along from another reader (Nathan):

Dana’s looking at Cro Cop like “Damn your a bad man!” Can’t wait for tommorrow, should be some fireworks.

Just got back from this mornings event. The Q&A session with Dana was really good. Dana seems genuinely happy to be in the UK. I was sat just 1 row behind all the fighters and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves. Had a little chat with Mike Goldberg and got to shake hands with Elvis too.
Really good morning and I can’t wait for tomorrow now!!

so whats the deal with tomorrow, should we not come on here all day to avoid getting results we don’t want before the show airs???

I plan to address that later today. But we will be posting results as they happen (they will be hidden, I promise, until after the tape delay show airs on Spike).

239 seems big for arlovski, and the dude said he looked great, sounds like he’s been training hard and packed on some more muscle…

I was very disappointed with the spike show on ufc 70 that they never had cro cop on it. What’s up with that? who cares about gonzaga, cro cop is the star of the show and what about arlovski? Weird, anyways it looks like its going to be an exciting fight.

Please let there be no gsp/serra matches for this card.
by nathan on Apr 20, 2007 11:44 AM EDT reply actions
I’ve had my fill of upsets for the next two years.

I hope Gonzaga gets knocked out just for that crappy fight way back in UFC 56. That was terrible.
The best fight of the night should be
Andrei Arlovski vs. Fabricio Werdum
I wonder how long this is going to take with commercials.

Arlovski is actually down a few pounds from his last fight, I think he was 244 against Marcio Cruz… I’m thinking the increased jujitsu training probly improved the cardio. Should be good. I for one hope you guys post the results as they happen. It’s pretty easy to avoid if you don’t want to see it don’t get on to the website.

I’ve heard CCis a very private guy and rarely gives interviews and things like that.

Is this a typo? are these guys in the 170 div?

Not only that, but what about Arlovski? Werdum? Kongo? OK, OK, I guess you can’t highlight every fighter in only 40 minutes (plus ads).
I’m a Bisping fan (in spite of Dana’s uber-hyping of him)…but I get the sense he is looking past Sinosic. Hopefullly not.
I agree with many: Fight of the night will be Arlovski-Werdum. (Arlovski TKO in the 2nd.)

I sure would like to see the video, UFCmania would you ever consider posting the weigh-ins and the post fight press conference on this site ???

GONZAGA CRUSHED LOSER
SINOSIC CRUNCHED LOSER
WERDUM SQUISHED LOSER
HEATH SCRUNCHED LOSER
I could go on but the rest, i am not making predictions on any of the others plus ive alredy used all my faveourite describing words
by mcanena on Apr 20, 2007 1:52 PM EDT reply actions
lets see tomorow if im right on my predictions
SILVA SPLATERED LOSER sorry my friends I forgot about that one
by mcanena on Apr 20, 2007 1:55 PM EDT reply actions
I would have to agree with all your predictions there mcanena. Might se differant descriptions, but i think all the same will win or lose. Unless we have some major upsets. The only one i think is suspect is the werdum bout, that is almost a coin flip. But, i’m rooting for Arlovski, i’d like to see him back in the mix, he’s always dangerous.
by SoCalMMA on Apr 20, 2007 2:13 PM EDT reply actions
haha there not “losers” becuase it takes balls to fight….but im gonna say….
Cro Cop…Tko 2nd
Arlovki..could be KO or UD, Werdum does have the skills to submitt him, but i think alrovski will come out on top
Bisping…1st round KO
Machida….ud or split decion…after arlovski werdum, might be fight of the night
ass. Silva….submission

Lyoto is his nickname. He goes by both.

Sherdog continues to get this wrong, so no fault of Mania’s. His name is Lyoto. When he fought in Japan, somehow the L becomes an R. It has just snowballed from there. Lyoto thinks its pretty funny being of asiatic-portuguese descent. Not really a big deal, but it can get confusing.
This is the best card the UFC has put on in a LOOOONG time. Almost a mini-Pride 33.
by MoreThanUFC on Apr 20, 2007 3:37 PM EDT reply actions
I have a feeling that Machida is going to be outweighed by more than just 5 lbs. I dont think it will affect the outcome very much though.
Machida by TKO
Bisping by TKO
CroCop by KO
Not gonna call the Arlovski fight….too close in my mind
Cheik Kongo by TKO

How many fights are we going to see on TV? The UFC 70 site only features three, where I would expect 4+ fights in a 2 hour period.

I’m an AA fan but I think werdum will give him alot of trouble.
by wildbill on Apr 20, 2007 6:42 PM EDT reply actions
Hey isn’t Arlovski a lil heavy than normal. He usually comes in around 225-230. I mean it’s not much but it is. 238 means he will be walking in tom. night at about 250. Nice!
by Stafo on Apr 20, 2007 7:44 PM EDT reply actions
stafo….. i seriously doubt aa cut weight to 238. ive seen werdum fight, tons of potential but i think aa is to quick and to exp in the cage for him. aa in a ud.
by bw on Apr 20, 2007 7:57 PM EDT reply actions
Nah dude, for his last fight AA was like 245 or soemthign, that is normal for him.

Not cut weight. I thought he came in lighter, and obviously after weigh in the weight starts back on before fight next day. I thought it was more like 230, but Anomaly says he was at 245 last fight. AA all the way against Werdum

kongo and silva had a pretty nice stare down, but what the hell were sinosic and bisping doing?? looked like sinosic wanted to kiss him, and mirko is scary as hell man, he just shakes the hand and walks away and then beats that ass come fight time, he’s like a machine…
by tha spida on Apr 20, 2007 8:50 PM EDT reply actions
machida came in light too, he looks like he could fight at 185, it would be nice to boost that division, a rematch with rich for the #1 contender to fight tha spida, how sick would that be???

This is for MoreThanUFC
I am the first to admit I dont know nothing realy about werdum but you cant say Arlovski isnt a super dangerous human being.Have you watched the wieghins on UFC website,Arlovski is lookin good, real good. From everything I have read about this match up it looks like its gonna be a tough fight for both guys and yeah if Im honest a bit of a coin toss, but me personaly I would like to see AA win.Anyone who is up against him has got to take him very seriously because he is hungry for that belt and my prediction is he WILL WIN,your opinion may be other than that and thats fine,we shall just have to see what happens tonight and then whoever has the right prediction is the winner.
MAY THE BEST MAN WIN
