UFC 72 tickets on sale this week for Ireland show

Tickets for UFC 72: "Victory" -- the first-ever show for the promotion in Belfast, Ireland -- go on sale this Saturday, June 16, at 4 a.m. EST for the general public.
As usual, there's an exclusive online presale for UFC Fight Club members that starts a few days earlier on Wednesday, April 18, at 4 a.m. EST.
Then on Friday, April 20, at 4 a.m. EST there is an email newsletter presale. This is pretty much open to the public as long as you enter this password: VICTORY.
Former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin appears to be headlining the event -- based on the marketing banners -- against 185-pound upstart Martin Kampmann.
And Forrest Griffin will also make his return after losing to Keith Jardine at UFC 66 and recovering from a severe staph infection that forced him off the UFC 70 card -- an opponent has not been named.

Don't forget: UFC 72 will air FREE on Spike television!

Many of the European fights will probably look like this. No title fights but solid names to headline the event. Of course they wouldn’t make it ppv in the states, however it will eventually be on HBO.

They need to throw another major fight in the mix. These are very one sided and there are no title fights. Franklin is going destroy Kampmann. I can’t believe they think this guy’s ready to take on ACE

I dont think Kampman is ready for Franklin either, but Franklin has to fight,he can’t afford to have a long layoff if he wants to face Sylva again

Not an exceptional card, I doubt this is it, I bet they will through one more major fight in there, they’ve got to, there virtually nothing but Franklin there. I dont get why Forrest is such a big deal, never a real contender yet, I don’t not like him, but he cant pass as a decent sub main event in my opinion.

I’m not impressed by the next few ufc’s to be quite frank. They provide one or two good fights and thats it. With the Pride aquisition i hope we see some card changes soon with some real big fights!

Ireland…will they really make any money over there? I’m staying home to watch it on…PPV….no, free tv right? on SPIKE? the best seats in the house.
Has anyone been to a UFC event? Post to let me know how the viewing is at the arena. Can you see above everyone else if you are not front row? and what about the camera crew, do they get in the way? seems to me TV is the best way to go…and then you don’t have to worry about any drunks.

It depends on he venue its showing at. The staples center in L.A kinda sucks, but its always fun just for the experience.

I have lived in northern Ireland before and travel there several times a year and I can not see how an organisation like the UFC can hold an event there, dublin yes i could see that because dublin is a very modern city with some great venues they could use.Belfast NO,what, are they going to hold this in a bingo hall or what.I wouldnt expect to see any big name fights when the venue is in northern Ireland the place is an absolute dive.Im sure there is some half decent venues in Scotland in Glasgow and Edinborough not that I know of any,but I cant believe there holding an event in Belfast. They dont have to do it just to be fair to the Irish and give them an event.I am Irish and I think its a bad bad bad idea.Hold the events in england where there is world class venues worthy of any UFC event.

The only place that could hold the show is the Odyssey Arena. It holds 10,000 but there is no way this one will sell out in such a small city with little exposure to MMA. This is a very bad idea that needs to be switched to Dublin. I would love to see the show live in Belfast, but would rather not give the press the chance to savage the UFC.

Dana must have a big fight in the planning. The only positive to holding this event is that it isn’t PPV in the US, therefore allowing Dana to showcase one of his poster boys on mainstream TV and shove Bob Arum’s words down his throat where they belong.

I will go over and watch if they get some better fights on the card.Im waiting for the next one to come to London and me and me bro are ganna go,hopefully that will be Chuck Liddell vs Mirko Crocop for the heavyweight belt.I would give up the next five years going out to be there and watch that in a good seat.I envy Joe Rogan and them for the seats they get,and they get payed for it!!!lucky bastards!!!!!!!!!
