I’m going to go out on a limb here, but I think, whoever they put in front of GSP and Kos, they will both win. Unless they end up fighting each other. Then, one of them will obviously lose. Unless its a draw, which I dont think there has been since BJ Penn and Kaol Uno. Either way, GSP will earn his title shot and I have to go with Couture outsmarting Gonzaga.

I hope it’s GSP-Kos. That would be a decent fight. Both will be hungry and GSP doesn’t let a fight get boring or slow. Couture-Gonzaga is very hard to call, but I will never doubt Randy again.

i think gsp and kos would be a great fight but gsp is going to win ko in the 3rd.and couture-gonzoga id have to say gonzaga but it will also be a great fight and a tough one for gonzaga!

by mikeclem on Apr 30, 2007 9:24 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

No one will be GSP in his next fight, regardless of who he fights. He will be too motivated to get the belt back. Kos is an ass. Diego is a better overall fighter, but Kos executed a perfect game plan in that fight.

i think diego will be a a more exciting fight with gsp because i think that koscheck will do the same thing as he did against diego. stand outside, throw a couple of punches, then take down at the end of the round. diego vs gsp would be way more exciting then kos vs gsp.

Unless Kos found a magic lamp I don’t think he has a chance. Gonzaga is for real it seems and could be a huge problem for Couture but once again he’s in his favorite position, underdog. I like Huerta alot and I’ve I know him so I got to root for him but I havn’t seen him fight anyone super solid yet, but he never has a boring fight.

great card

by morocco on Jun 5, 2007 5:50 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

another great looking card, can’t wait to see koscheck take a beating and i also can’t wait to see huerta fight again, gotta love that guy, main event is very very interesting too…also i love to watch joe stevenson fight, he’s an animal at 155, him and sherk would be a war, he deserves that shot…love him or hate him tim sylvia vs. frank mir should be a decent fight too, tim sylvia needs to win that one…

by tha spida on Jun 5, 2007 11:36 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I’m impressed man. Very coming along VERY nicely. Didnt think they would do 2 events that good in a row. I guess they got to be making up for 72

too bad the gonzaga vs. couture match-up doesnt matter, cuz big nog is going to take over the heavyweight division… until FEDOR comes to the octagon. I hope GSP puts koscheck to sleep with a right hook, i really cant stand looking at his curly blonde hair, or watching his boring “fight not to lose” mentality anymore. Let’s hope that gsp shook off the loss to serra and rebounds quickly, or else this is going to be like koscheck vs. sanchez again. I really dont see that happening bc i think gsp will fight like he has in the past. Joe stevenson is a beast and is very exciting also. I really cant stand sylvia and he hope he loses, but he probably wont. Maybe Shogun will work his way onto either this card or 73’s card, that would be interesting.

damn its a long lay off from july 7th til august 25th, i hope they put another fight night in between there or something…i read somewhere that gsp and diego are training together for their fights, thats awesome news for both guys, i’m picking them both to win, but both fights are gonna be awesome, i strongly dislike koscheck, but i know he’s got skills and will come with a good gameplan, i just don’t see gsp losing 2 in a row, as far as the diego/sakurai fight, thats gonna be a fight of the year candidate for sure, its either guys fight, i know the real diego will come to this fight, i think he’ll find a way to either win a decision or get a late gnp stoppage…i really think this card is looking better than 73, i just think there are better match ups on this card and the main event is gonna be sick, i’m sure a lot of people will be taking gonzaga because of how he made cro cop look so bad, but thats just more fuel for randy’s fire, we all know what he’s capable of when he’s counted out, but i’m still gonna go with my brain on this one and not my heart and say gonzaga will be too much for couture, probably get a round 3 or 4 ref stoppage, he’s just too big and strong and well rounded…if 73 is called stacked then what are they gonna call 74?

If St. Pierre happens to loose, his career may be over in the UFC 2 losses in a row is hard to come back from, but i think he will win, Diego should come back hungry and finish Sakurai, Ive seen Sakurai fight dude will go toe to toe no question, hes pretty good on the feet and heavy handed gots excellent foot work, will be along night for Diego, Best thing for Diego ground and pound. Dont know to much about Kurt but I know if he keeps Stevenson on the feet he might pull a knock out. As for Couture come on now the guys a legend wouldnt doubt if he wins as usual but i kind of, would like Gonzaga to win so some one can beat his ass and take the belt from him , lets say like Mirko on a rematch if Mirko takes his nuts out of his purse and starts dropping fools again like he usually does, but I guess we will have to wait and see. If not Rodrigo will get the job done, that guys pretty bad himself.

Gsp won’t stand around with his thumb up ass like Deigo for three rounds.

No way would Dana gas Gsp after two losses. Frank Mir and Chris Lebin are still in the UFC.

yeah but not in a row thats what makes the difference anyone can lose 1 then win 1 but when you loose 2 in a row then you in trouble but Gsp should win hes still the man

by washi on Jun 18, 2007 5:08 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

awesome card, joe stevenson shouldnt hav to win another fight to prove himself though, hands down, he should be fighting sherk at UFC 73: stacked, not hermes franca, couture will prolly get put bak into retirement by gonzaga, and koscheck will prolly get knocked out in the 2 round, and i dont know who diego is fightin, but i’m sick of diego so i hope he loses, i will definately order this PPV if it was to happen

Lebin lost 2 in a row, so did Forrest and BJ and many others did as well.

by Gord on Jun 24, 2007 1:19 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Chris Lytle’s lost 4 in a row and he’s still going to be fighting again soon. GSP is in no danger, especially because of how popular he is, he could lose this fight, and 2 or 3 more in a row and still keep getting fights.

by Alexis on Jun 25, 2007 3:01 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

st. pierre isn’t going anywhere because the likelihood of him losing to kos is small. minute in fact. kos is a wrestling phenom, but the only way he can win is by laying on st. pierre, which he won’t be able to do for long since st. pierre happens to have pretty deadly wrestling himself and is used to having the #5 ranked heavyweight in the world on top of him. as for standing, koscheck is toast. most people seem to think it’s impossible, but i can see st. pierre shooting, taking kos down and laying into him with elbows. bye bye kos.

LOL no way in Hell is Koscheck going to get away with that with Gsp, if he tries he’ll get KTFO guaranteed. Mark my words, Gsp will totally dominate Koscheck and take him down at will, and shock almost everyone other than me.

H.A vs machida would be a sick fight Houston by rear naked choke round 1 2.45.

NO. Houston Alexander has already admitted he doesnt know jiu jitsu. So, that pretty much rules out a rear-naked choke. Machida would pick his bald ass apart.

great card (as long as gsp isnt punch drunk b/c of the serra loss)

The only thing that sucks about this card, is they should all be good fights but not all will make it to the PPV. They should have an extra long one.

by Raiden on Jul 18, 2007 12:32 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

When are they gonna give Huerta a shot at Stevenson or Florian? He will be the number one contender by the end of the year.

The natural will this one in a 4th rd TKO, but the next Heavy weight matchups will be Arlovski vs. Minotauro, and The natural vs. Brandon Vera

Vera hasn’t fought in the UFC in quite a while but he is going to jump the line and get a title shot? Not likely.

This is another excellent card!

Here’s one I’m curious to see:
185 lbs.: Kendall Grove (8-3) vs. Patrick Cote (10-4)

Grove will really get tested (finally).

It’s kind of a waste of time to post on a PPV event more than a month out because the card is still getting put together. Sylvia-Mir fell through.. talking about Diego Sanchez-Sakurai up there and Penn-Diego was rumored… but now Diego-Fitch is almost finalized.

by Mamas Boy on Jul 27, 2007 8:26 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

guys if you every wrestled in school and had an inkling of what it takes to be an all american in college you would not be so quick to think gsp is going to beat kos. will be a good fight but kos if he doesn;t get caught will control the fight and win by decision you heard it here
