Chuck needs a qualty guy to fight, and Henderson would be perfect!

Chuck vs. Hendo would be an awesome matchup. Hendo has never been KOed and we all know Chuck depends on his heavy hands. As for the middleweight bout: I think Lindland should be the #1 contender for any middleweight title thou – except Fedor kills him first at the bodog finals.

Careful what you wish for, Both silva and liddel have the ability to humiliate henderson on there feet.

I thought Silva was going to humiliate Hendo on his feet and look what happened.

I wouldn’t use the Silva-Hendo fight as a measure for how good/bad both are. Silva was sick before the fight and I also believe the fight was too soon after the devastating KO by CroCop. He should have laid off a few more months and pulled it together – now its gonna be hard to come back from two consecutive losses.

I hope we see more of Hendo,he seems to have a good attitude and skills to back it up.

That is exactly what I wish for… I’d love to see great match ups, but I always like to see Chuck ko guys!

Nathan, Robb is referring to Henderson’s recent fight with Wanderlei Silva (at PRIDE 33), who is also an accomplished striker (at 205 lbs).

Does this mean Hendo is comming to the UFC??? I hope so…
by Stevie C on Mar 22, 2007 2:50 PM EDT reply actions
I think Wanderlei Silva would be considered a solid stand up fighter with heavy hands, look what happened to him! Spinning back fist, over hand right, KO. Sit down Axe Murderer you got owned.

were talkin about pride, they have some great fighters bu ufc has the best.and if he wants those guys he has to beat 1 before the other and don’t think he could take a chuck punch or the spidas knees to the face think about it.Holla

You obviously dont know what you are talking about, so go back to sherdog.
On something else: I am suprised that UFCmania missed the #1 rumor (after the Fertittas-buy-Pride thing) in the last few days. The rumor was, that Shogun signed a 2 fights deal with Pride and 2 fights with the UFC. Now that would have been great news. Unfortunately a phone call with Shogun revealed it to be untrue and he signed a 4 fights contract with Pride instead.
Then again this shows that there are worthy fighter contracts on the table when purchasing Pride.

Didn’t miss it. Was actually following it rather diligently. But, the reason I didn’t bring it to the attention of readers was because I was waiting for another credible source to corroborate the statement. It was kind of made off the cuff, too, and not matter of factly by Josh Gross. I felt the responsible thing to do would be to wait it out as to not rile expectations. It seems like that strategy paid off since Shogun apparently signed a four-fight deal with Pride and the 2 and 2 deal never materialized. Here’s the link for those interested:

There’s a fine line we try and walk here as far as rumors are concerned. And, this is one of those cases that seems to highlight our restraint. Thanks for briging it up, wanted to mention that.

henderson was pretty damn impressive against wandy, and a fight with him and chuck would be crazy, but lets get serious, chuck would knock him out like everybody else, as for my boy tha spida, that would be a great fight, i can’t help but wonder what would happen if anderson and wandy fought, doesn’t it seem like wandy would win? if so then doesn’t that mean henderson would beat tha spida? only way to find out is to see them fight, so whats up? did we buy pride and now get to see all the fights we want or is that all bullshit and we have to sit here and talk about shit that ain’t never gonna happen?

Fair ’nuff. I was hoping to see a posting about it with a 2nd source. Good call on not posting it as it turned out bogus. But what about this: http://www.jutarnji.hr/clanak/art-2007,3,21,damm_cro,67286.jl
Cro Cop training with Van Damme to improve his trademarked “kick heads off the shoulder” weaponry. :D

Damn! Them belts is shinny ain’t they! More power to Hendo if anybody can topple Chuck and Anderson it would be Dan. He’s gonna have to grow two more shoulders though.

The only type of fighter that can topple those two is another stickers.
by jason bang on Mar 22, 2007 8:42 PM EDT reply actions
Its more like than only type of fighter that can topple Chuck and Anderson are wrestler, and Hendo’s the best of the best. And if you want a striker just look at his right hand.

Anderson Silva will be beat by a wrestler. Lutter’s a chump and he took him down easy. I know Silva was soming of knee surgery but it still was too easy. Put a good wrestler in there, with enough stand-up to keep him guessing and I think Silva is beat.
by Bawana on Mar 23, 2007 8:06 AM EDT reply actions
Wait? I think I just described Henderson didnt I? I have only seen his two fights with Wandy.
by Bawana on Mar 23, 2007 8:07 AM EDT reply actions
Chuck and the Spider are really good at the ground game and the have beating the best wrestlers. They need someone better than them at their own game i.e striking. The time Chuck got beat he got beat up on his feet.

is it just me or are the pride belts so ugly
I believe the silver belts are the ones you keep or can take with you at all times, while the real belts (the ones you get right after the fight) and show-off during events are golden.
Here is the golden belt on Hendo:

Some people seem to forget a lot of things when it comes to Andy or Chuck. people are giving them more credit than worth. cant take away from chuck but but just cause he reigns high in ufc doesnt mean hes the best striker. remember PRIDE 2003 when he got seriousely beat down by rampage? does anyone wonder why theyre making him fight jackson right away and not give him another 1 or 2 fights like they said they would. Easy. they want chuck to win. seeing his performance against eastman and given the fact that chuck gets up a lot easier with a cage than in the ring, its clear that chuck is at a big advantage. why is it UFC is only gonna have the PRIDE / UFC fights in the cage. I hope people see where im coming from. second of all Anderson wont be at the top very long. people think hes a stud but thats cause hes been given easy fights.first Chris who sticks his head out at people hoping to barrel through. then a weak franklin coming off surgery and a 7 month break to fight a top tier fighter from PRIDE? Come on. I dont even think i should get into a weakened lutter. who sux btw. whos gonna beat chuck and anderson we ask. just get the PRIDE rolodex out close your eyes and pick a card, any card.

Henderson would get KTFO by both silva and liddell
by Mark "Lights Out" Matheson on Mar 30, 2007 10:41 AM EDT reply actions
People already making excuses for Rampage. Why can’t the ufc just want to get this fight out of the way to have Liddell fight CC or Silva next? Nows Rampages time to shine. Lets see what he learned from Ortiz.

henderson never gets knocked out by anyone including heavyweights he is comming to the ufc to kick ass.all of the great ufc champions get there asses kicked all the time henderson can take three belts at 170 185 and 205 and white knows it . lidell has never battled at heavyweight henderson has and done well.Nogueira at heavy is no slouch.with henderson holding two belts fighting at numerious weights makes him the third best fighter in the world be hind feder and cro cop no one else can say it all hendersion does is back it up

Henderson is the man, but he was fighting a half assed Silva, not the same as he lost to teh first time. I dont think he would hang with Chuck, his wrestling is pretty awsome in keeping him out of danger on the ground. He would smash Anderson though, taking him down in 2 seconds. If Hendo got rocked by a weak silva, then a healthy chuck would put him to sleep for sure.

Man this guy is a great fighter…i hope this guy squares off against some of UFC’s more elite fighters….
Like Liddell, Anderson, etc….gonna be a good couple of years isn’t it?
