UFC Quick Quote: Huerta wants to be champ in twoyears

Considering his past, I’d say: good for him. BUT .. what has he accomplished in the octagon so far to backup such statements? Win a few more fights and then we can talk about being a contender for the title.

I imagine thats why he said two years…which is a good goal to shoot for…but yes i think everyone can agree that he is still up and coming and has his work cut out for him

Yea I know – but such statements really don’t mean much. In my book every fighter should have the goal to become the best fighter he can be and ultimately the champion. That doesn’t mean that every fighter should now start announcing his claim for the title in 2-3 years, otherwise we wouldn’t get much done here. :D

Besides – its not about what the fighters want, but who the promoters want as the champion. Every fighters career can be crushed by bad match-ups and lously promotion.

If he can beat Sherk now, he should be champion now. But he knows he cant do it – yet, so he said so – “I want to be champ in two years”. That kid has potential, hes gonna rock some UFC asses in near future.

Guillard beat him up pretty convincingly.
Sherk is going away anytime soon.
Daddy is pretty tough as well.
I think he can beat anyone but those three right now.
Excited to see if BJ ends up fighting pulver at 155 instead of some other random tweener weight.
If bj legitamitely can fight @ 155 this becomes a very very very very deep class…

Bj Penn definitely can fight at 155. Thats what he used to fight at before his first matchup with Matt Hughes. I also agree that this announcement isn’t a big deal because, like YouTapped said, it really should be every fighters goal to win the title.

i hate cocky fighters…2 years huh, i want to be to be a UFC champion in 2 years, but that isnt gunna happen either. this guy needs to wake up and smell the shit thats coming out of his own mouth. this guy is a bumb, he clearly got lucky in his last fight, and he hasnt done anything to make me believe he is anything but a second rate fighter, throw his ass in the cage w/shirk…HELL throw him in the cage w/little evil i’ll bet my soul that he’ll get smashed on.

… its easy to say who he will lose to NOW thats why he claims he will be champ in two years. His first fight was not luck, it was a nice knee to the shoulder… bottum line. im not even a big fan of huerta, but your blind input it unnecessary. I gaurantee he will prove hes not a secondrate fighter.
