Cage Rage: Ross Pointon heads back to Britain

ross pointon ufc
Former contestant on season three of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), Ross Pointon (4-8), now appears to be a former UFC fighter.

With two consecutive losses in his post-TUF career — and not one win while on the reality show in two tries — Pointon is booked for the upcoming Cage Rage show in England on April 21.

His opponent is welterweight Abdul Mohamed (12-4-2).

During his unique stint in front of the cameras stateside, the Englishman managed to lose at least one bout in every imaginable weight class — light heavyweight, middleweight and welterweight.

What he lacks in skill, he apparently makes up for in heart and ... personality?

KnowhaddImean?

There's no other reason to explain his reason being in the Octagon so many times.

Despite his release, Pointon will be in action just a few hundred miles from his former employer. Cage Rage Championships: "Judgment Day" will take place on April 21 — the same day as the UFC 70 "invasion."

Me thanks to MMA Dude and BX1551. You is both right. Me the best AND me be a future champion of the world!

Thanks to me fellow UFC Maniacs for help building up me street cred with the promoters. Dana White will be calling me back when I beat Abdulah the Butcher.

Craziness.

I think Pointon was rewarded by Dana because he was the only one that stepped up in TUF when no one else of the losers would. I think Dana appreciated his willingness and tried to give him every opportunity he could to make it in the UFC. Unfortunately, Pointon had the heart but not the skills.

I liked Ross he had a great likable personality. i would have to agree he did lack skill… to bad a great personality and heart doesnt get you wins… i hope he wins the next couple of his fights and comes back to the UFC

I think he would be good for an action movie.

He looks like a guy who should be fighting a guy who walks into a Manchester bar wearing a Newcastle jersey, but he was always entertaining, much more so than some of the other TUF fighters. Win a few,and maybe you can work your way back.

Ross aint got nothing, all he is – is a brawler and knows some golden glove, on T.U.F. 3 he got submitted standing to a rear naked choke. I dont know anybody who would get beat like that i mean the little dumbass should’nt be out there fighting anyways cause all he does is throw punches that almost never land.

jeez ya think he’d wise up and get a different game plan before his 4 – 8 record starts looking even worse…

He will never be any good because he isnt willing to learn anything and he was born with 2 thirds of his brain missing.
He should move to africa and live with wild chimps he could probably comunicate with them alot better then he does with humans, then he could live a happy life and not look so confused anynore.

Ross was hilarious on TUF 3 but I dont see him being a true contender

Ross was cool. He doesn’t listen and didn’t think he needed to learn- but he didn’t really get a great training regimen either. Big heart and classic soccer hooligan pub wrecker. A gentleman who will punch your face through the back of your head. More suited to muscle than MMA, he is nevertheless a force to be reckoned with, and I think has a career being cast as a tough in films. I wouldn’t want to get in a no rules brawl with him, that’s for sure. He may not be the brightest one, but he surely wasn’t afraid to step in and fight anybody! this guy deserves mad respect no matter how we measure each other up in life.

What do mean he’s good he is s*** i was one of his students in the gladiotors gym. Answer this, would you laugh when someone broke there wrist in training and said its only a little sprain. I believe that ross took cage fighting up because it a controled enviroment with a referee but if you let him out on the streets he has no balls to fight with.

A good friend i am to ross

NOT!!!!!

So what your sayin, is that the dude is trying to be a professional fighter, paid, with a contract, future endorsement possibilities, the whole 9 yards, and be a proper man with parameters and rules in what he enjoys doin….because he can’t fight in the street where you get nothing except perhaps a jail sentence, lawsuit, what have you? I don’t understand your comment, man. It sounds grudging. Thats like saying your spineless and a pussy by scribbling derogatory remarks against a man who doesn’t even have you on his mind, anonymously or under an alias of sort.

Whats your beef? What’s your profession? You say you are a good friend to Ross, and if this is so, I am TOTALLY apoligetic, but excuse me. Your comments was written out of context.

Ross, I was really hoping and rooting for ya when you were on Season of Ultimate Fighter. I liked your personality, your look, your bravado. I didn’t watch anymore when you went off…but then I heard you came back, I was back! I never knew what happened to you anymore. Wasn’t big on yer comrade Bisbane. What I’m reading on ya is really upsetting man. Turning me off. I feel let down, but your doing your thing, fighting your arse off. Do all you must man. Keep it crazy but focused. Yea? Make it put you wealthy, for your daughter and your countrymen. If you still read this, drop me a line. I want a way to follow what is happeneing with ya. taki1968@gmail.com No barfights. Sayin? Keep it bein a proper man dammit. a PROPER Pointon. Write me Ross.
