I don’t see Silva beating Rich again. Franklin’s conditioning was down and his heart wasn’t there that night. Rich is a very smart guy. After studying the Lutter fight Rich will find the holes in his game. You cannot look passed Nate either

Rich will win again and smash Silva. Easily. Love to see Tito v Rashad. Rashad is hell. Doesnt matter anyway hehe, none of them got anything on Liddell.

But Tito Vs. Rashad is gonna be great. I real nice competitive battles of the contendars. Couldnt have wished for a better fight there. Very even, a true 50 50 if you ask me. I’m really excited for this one.

I hope Anderson gets beat as well, but by Rich Franklin, cant have him with an unavenged loss now can we. He must prove he can beat Anderson. Which im sure thats what it will come down to. The Middleweight division could be better right now to say the least, Rich and Anderson are on a level above everyone else.

I really think that Anderson Silva is a great fighter, even on the ground where Lutter dominated him, Anderson stayed calm and used his long freakish legs to put a triangle on Lutter. I don’t see Anderson losing anytime soon. I think that Yushin Okami should be in the mix somewhere too, hes no joke. I hope Rashad beats the shit out of Tito.. and I don’t understand why people say Jardine is better than Rashad, because he beat fores.Jardine also lost to bonner, and Rashad beat bonner. Rashad is legit, he has good take down defense, great take downs, and heavy hands, remember he was dropping heavyweights before he dropped down.

Not sure if Franklin will get his title rematch against Silva so soon, Okami is in contention and Koscheck is some how on the rise, but Marquardt and Silva will be fine for now I guess. I would say Silva’s gonna win but you just can’t tell anymore these dayz— i.e. SERRA

Let me see if I can call this early.
Silva TKO late rounds, strikes
This will be an awesome fight, but if it goes the distance Silva will eventually catch him with something terrible. Anouther one for his ever growing UFC highlight reel. Honestly, I’d prefer to be wrong about this one.
Sean Sherk TKO Early, due to cuts
Pick up, slam, elbow, ouch, blood, ding ding.
Ortiz by decision
Double leg TD, guard, elbow from ortiz, escape, repeat.
Nogueira by Submission, early (That one is easy, I’ll even go nuts and say by Kimura)
Sorry, if it ain’t Fedor, it ain’t fair. Just a joke, I’d like to see him fight all the UFC HW contenders and the current champ.
Joslin by decision
Hard fought battle, best fight of the night.

Is the Sherk fight gonna be for the title?
Yeah, the only way it won’t be for the title is if one of them gets hurt in between now and then, or fails to make weight.
I also have to agree with Hoodlum that the Joslin fight will probably be the fight of the night. Both he and Lytle are well rounded and love to bang. I am going to predict that a close second will be the Ortiz and Evans fight. Something tells me that these two will respect each others ground game to the point of standing up for a very long time.

Yes. I’m glad to see Machida getting some love. Also, I think this is relevant remark because as I have been watching Machida, he keeps getting lighter. I can definitely see him dropping down a weight class for a rematch with Franklin.

Anderson Silva is just a stinkin good muay tia kickboxer. If he went up against a ground and pound he would get his butt whooped like a little kid. only one of his fights went to the ground and it was against that sissy Travis Lutter. He has got a good fight mentality but he can be taken down easily.

This is an awesome card!!! Come on guys you got to love Silva he puts on a show in the octagon look at all his fights. But the most hyped fight is Tito vs Rashad which i’ll give to Tito. I want Rashad to win but how can you go against Tito’s experience. I found it funny though how Tito patted his own back after not getting knocked out in the first two rounds against Liddell. You still lost stupid…. but anyways all the fights look great. Glad to see Sean Sherk finally defending his title to give the lightweight division some much deserved attention and Big Nog’s UFC debut is something to look forward to as well. And welcome back stephan Bonnar! hope you trained hard during your suspension. whoop some ass!!!. and Of course I have to give a shout out to my hometown fighter Jeff Joslin. Hamilton’s got your back Jeff do your thing!! Can’t wait to see this PPV……..wow!

I’m so excited to see the return of Silva, i think he’s the most exciting fighter in the UFC. I also believe rashad will stand up and bang it out with tito. Tito doesnt like being hit in the head and i think rashad will expose holes in tito’s stand up like lidell did, even though lidell’s stand up is way better than rashad’s. I also think the franca vs sherk fight is going to be very exciting if franca can keep it off of the ground. He presents a style of stand up that is very awkward, but very effective. If franca can keep it on the feet he’s going to win. I love this event and cannot wait. Look for the spider to retain his title in an early stoppage, rashad in a unanimous decision, and franca via TKO

i think it would be awful for nate marquardt to be champ, i don’t think its gonna happen, but we all know anything can happen in that cage, i think marquardt is a good fighter, but he hasn’t done anything to prove to me he deserves a title shot, i think he’s getting this by default because theres really no one else right now and i think they’re saving the silva/franklin matchup, i just think nate is one of those fighters that just does enough to squeeze out wins and he doesn’t really have the killer instinct enough to be a great champion like anderson silva, i hope anderson wins this fight and i think he will…tito ortiz will beat rahshad evans, that is going to happen, the only way tito will lose this fight is if he gets screwed on the scorecards, he’s just a better fighter, and i don’t care about people saying tito hasn’t beat anyone in a long time thats good, but thats bullshit, he’s beat everyone he’s fought except for chuck liddell and thats nothing to be ashamed of, tell me who rahshad evans has beat, oh yeah he beat sean salmon, talk about a quality win, oh wait, sure he beat lambert, but so what, and he beat bonnar, but wasn’t too impressive, he’s not ready for tito and tito knows he has to win this fight or else the tito bashathon that is the internet will never stop…franca is another one that i don’t think deserves the title shot, but i still think he can win the fight because he hits so damn hard, but he’s wild and sherk is very very strong and should be able to pull out a decision if he can get it on the mat and keep it there, if it stays standing though, hermes has a legitimate shot at being the next lw champ…is big nog gonna have 1st time in the cage jitters? will herring be able to capitolize and beat a guy he’s never been able to, probably no and no…ken flo has a really really tough fight, if he’s as impressive in this one as his last then he’s right there with stevenson for a title shot…lytle and fickett will be a war, i’ll take lytle…edgar and bocek is a war, i’ll take edgar since he beat my boy tyson griffin…stephan bonnar better win…and who cares about gurgel, he’s a bum, i want saraiva to submit his ass…

Silva Is gonna whoop marquedts ass, and rashad evans is very under-rated, hes gonna smash tito, tito had his time, hes lost the hunger for the sport, hes not hungry anymore hes tasted the title, but rashad has never tasted it and hes really hungry , he wasnts this more then nething, hes got the heavyweight experience , so hes gonna smash tito 2nd round

remember RT, Sherk has pretty good standup. Just watch his fight with Nick Diaz (unconventional and awkward to say the least) and he stayed in control, not letting the arrogant Diaz outsmart him.

I agree with you that sherk’s standup is solid (say that ten times fast lol), but franca hits extremely hard. Diaz was on a down fall when he fought sherk, and franca is on the rise. I believe this fight is a toss-up, but im gonna go with my gut and say franca via tko or submission, (i didnt know his bjj was as good as it is until i watched the franca-diaz fight) if franca can connect sherk will say goodnight, just like he did against gsp

Marquardt will take out Silva easily and he will be champ for awhile. Silva looked like a phenom against Leben but Leben is a punk who gets way too much attention. I think Tito will squeak out a decision against Rashad, he is a more technical striker and will earn those points. The only upset I see is if Herring catches Nogueira with a lucky punch. Sherk is going to destroy Franca. Franca is a punk. He has no technical stand up, he just swings for the fences — way over-rated. He reminds me of Chris Leben – who I said from the get go is way over rated. In the middleweight division, I think in time, Kendall Grove will be crowned champ merely because of his will and determination.
by Nigel on Jun 19, 2007 11:34 AM EDT reply actions
i dont see Franklin Beating silva at all. once a fighter becomes punch drunk, they seem to never fight the same. I.E. arlovski. andre was a beast. he beat down slivia in there first match, then was dominating him in the second until silvia swung a prayer uppercut to drop him. then in there rematch neither would engage. it was like they where both afraid of the big punch. Frankin looked the same against okama. it was a bad performance from a franklin who looked scared of a guy who had good striking as well as he did. so you have to wonder if its going to be in the back of Rich’s mind if they rematch.
Tito is the man. and i would still love to see tito get back at chuck. i hate lidell. evans will not makie it past the first round against tito. and i had to listen to everyone talk about how jardine is the new champ of that division after he beat griffin. i guess alexander shut that crap up for me…i want to see a rematch of tito and chuck to see who fights rampage for the title. nwo that would be a greta ppv.

“Marquardt will take out Silva easily and he will be champ for awhile. Silva looked like a phenom against Leben but Leben is a punk who gets way too much attention.”
What about silvas fight with franklin? Franklin is easily one of the best in mma right now and silva dismantled him. Wow you know barely anything about mma. You talk about technical striking and hermes franca, his striking isnt technical, but he knocked out one of the most technical strikers in the sport, spencer “the queen” fisher. his bjj is also phenomenal. If you think big nog is gonna et ko’d by herring you’re nuts, his chin is amazing and herring just isnt that great of a fighter, he lost to jake o’brien pretty decisively when o’brien was supposed to be a stepping stone for him. Then you talk about kendall grove, he is way over rated. He got knocked out by hector ramirez, who is not a good fighter. I cant see marquardt beating silva esily, the only way i see it happening is by a grind-it-out deceision, like all of marquardt’s fights.
by RT on Jun 21, 2007 7:05 PM EDT reply actions
franklin is a great fighter. but he is a striker and his southpaw technique is awesome. he obviously didnt know what to do with silvas legs. as silva busted him up pretty bad. franklin will loose to silva next time as well because the meatchup just favors silva. lutter has excellent take down skills to help him against a great kickboxing style like silva. but franklin relies on his reach and silvas legs are longer then franklins arms. if you noticed franklin tried to implement some knew kicks into his fight against okami, and to be honest it wa slack luster at best. if franklin tries to stand again with silva he will loose again. if he can get him down he could end it quick. but i dont think he has the ground game travis had to do it.

Choice words but for someone who thinks they know MMA, that’s comical — Franklin had a bad night against Silva and so did Spencer Fisher against Franca, it happens. Did you see Spencer against Stout – that’s the real Spencer Fisher. As far as Big Nog goes, anyone can getted KO’d – chin or no chin. This is why I said “Lucky” punch. We’ll see come July 7th. Sherk will win, and will be dominant throughout the whole fight. (Just like he did against Florian) He will take down Franca at will. Ortiz will win — he will grind out a close decision. Marquardt will win, he will win via decision, but it will be close.
by Nigel on Jun 22, 2007 1:35 PM EDT reply actions
i agree all those guys can win and have a chance to win, i think the franca sherk fight is a tossup to be honest with you, if sherk does take down franca he just has to avoid submissions to win. And yes i saw fisher against stout, he looked great, but hes not as well rounded as sherk or franca. You’re right about the fact that anyone can get ko’d and herring can ko big nog, bt i dont see it happening. The ortiz evans fight is another tossup in my mind, i dont see a stoppage in that fight, i see a split decision. I really dont beleive marquardt is going to beat silva, but he has a chance. If silva fights like he did against lutter, he’ll lose. If silva fights like he did against franklin, he’ll dominate.

I don’t know what you all have been watching, but since Ultimate Fighter Rashad’s game has significantly improved. His last fight was a Knock out by round house. When did he ever do that before? I like Tito, but I haven’t any evolution in his game. He’s got great ground and pound, maybe the greatest, but what else? You’ve seen Rashad, is the ground and pound going to be enough to beat him? I see Rashad as the future of his division. Unless Tito begins to adapt and change his game he better stick to fights against Ken Sham.

are kidding me. rashad evans hasnt fought one top fighter yet in the ufc. not one. sure his skill has imporved form the ultimate fighter, but thats because he never would engage in the tv show. and he fought passive, so it was no where but up for him from there. and can ya tell me one thing rashaud does better then tito. tito has a ground game that evans has never seen before, tito stand up is better then evans( although evans might be close in that area), strength, skill, experiance, speed, LEG KICKS. its all tito by a land slide. this fight will almost be funny to watch i think. absolute mismatch. i dont knwo hwo anyone who really knows mma thinks rashaud has a chance

Well UFC 73 was a bit of a let down for such a good card.
After all the anticipation and great line up, there weren’t that many impressive fights besides Silva, Shark and Kenny F.
Also as we can all see Tito is all washed up, he’s nothing like he used to be a few years back .He’s defiantly lost his sprit. He should get out of the game now and maybe concentrate on coaching?
Evans should have let his hands go a bit more and knocked him out. That would have been great to see :)

So you don’t know anyone that knows MMA that thought Rashad had a chance. I guess it was just me and that other guy that doesn’t know MMA “Randy Coutour”. Anyone I think anyone that saw last nights fight knows that if that fight would have gone another 5 minutes Tito would of been out. Rashad wasn’t tired and Tito was about to pass out. I’m not a Tito hater by any means I just think he needs to change his game a little. once the ground and pound was neutralized what was there? I would like to see the second fight, I don’t think Rashad pushed the pace like he should of this fight, I was a bit disappointed.
