That’s like me fighting my wife! and yes, she is a bad ass too.

If he wasn’t such a tall piece of trash he wouldn’t be nearly as successful. He can fight, no questions asked but there is no doubt that his height (and weight due to it) is a major advantage and plays a huge roll on his performance.

Uh, sorry JR, but height and weight matter very little to a fighter with good BJJ or Sambo skills. That is the reason I never understood why a Russian Sambo Champion didnt beat his ass in the rematch. Oh yeah, he bought the hype he has great standup. Sylvia will be beat by any fighter who has good enough standup to survive with Sylvia, and then can get him down and sub or GNP him. I dont think Couture has the skill set to do that, but Werdum, CC, Herring (yes, Herring), and a smarter AA do. But Poopie will just blanket out a decision when he can, so they need to be aggressive. I know CC and Herring will be, we’ll see about AA.
If you dont believe me, check out any Fedor HL and watch a 6 foot 220lb HW walks through guys who out weight him by 40 and have 6in height advantages.

Yeah, his height is an advantage, but only if you’re mad short. If you are like like 6’2" or 6’3" it shouldn’t be such a big deal. Guys who are 5’8" and 5’9" beat guys that are 6 foot 2 or three so what’s the difference. Give Tim a little credit, he can fight.

Tim Sylvia will poop himself once Randy Couture gets him on the ground.

randy couture is a fat ass now.

Don’t forget, Tim Sylvia’s normal walking around weight, by his own words, is around 275-280. He cuts weight to get below the 265lbs upper limit for the UFC HW division, so by fight time, he’ll be out-weighing Couture by approx. 55-60lbs. Let’s hope Timmaaay doesn’t sit on him, or its all over.

Saw Jason Dent’s fight against Huerta, looking forward to seeing him again, after seeing him go 3 rounds with Huerta, looking forward to see him kick Tibau’s ass

Doesnt anyone take weighing in seriously…

Thats why there are weight divisions, Lutter ruined everyone.

Hell they are getting paid, the least they can do is fight a division that they entend to be in.

I love the way Sylvia always sucks in his fat stomach. No, he is a good fighter. I said that. I’m saying though his reach is just ridiculous along with his weight. Monson could’ve beaten him if he was more aggressive. Ugh I can’t stand him as a fighter though. He is a safety first fighter, he’s slow and boring! That’s why people boo him. Couture is such an exciting fighter and presses the match. I doubt it but I would love to see Randy put his flabby bar hopping looking ass beneath a ground-and-pound. I will say this. Couture will definitely make Sylvia work and if he does tangle him up enough to take him down Randy has more than a shot. You can’t sleep on Couture based on his age. He’s aggressive. Sylvia isn’t.

Its sad when the odd makers are going with Silvia!

Sylvia’s a lion. He doesn’t look like he’s doing much and then bam, opponents out. Maybe I’m wrong, and I’d love to see Couture press the match, but the thought of Couture grounding and pounding Sylvia is too hilarious for me to even imagine.

I was there in person, the boos for Sylvia were super-loud. Apparently the ufc edited the large part of them out of their video, but live it was Vince McMahon-esc. the kind of reaction he got.

Wow, that’s wild. Well, like I said, nobody likes how he performs. Again, I;m not trying to take anything away from the guy as a far as being a champion but there are much more aggressive, entertaining, skilled and hungry fighters out there. Couture has a shot Pacalis. Don’t look past him. He’s also been around long enough to understand tactics and strategy a lot more than Silvia does. Let’s see. Either way today should be incredible. Good luck to all the fighters!

did fitch’s fight get moved up on the card? or is the list in no special order

by pinman828 on Mar 3, 2007 12:46 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Fitch’s fight did NOT get moved up. I’ll reorder to avoid any confusion. Thanks and apologies.

Thats Silvia cutting weight as well. Look how far he’s sucking in that gut, looks unnatural. Randy didn’t need to ‘cut’ a pound. There is at least another 10-15lb differance.
