According to MMAWeekly.com, Fabricio Werdum (9-2-1) -- one of the top-ranked heavyweight mixed martial artists in the world -- will make his UFC debut in the United Kingdom on April 21 at the Manchester Evening News (M.E.N.) Arena.
Even better, he will lock horns with former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski (10-5).
The acquisition of Werdum is an enormous windfall for the UFC and its fans.
The Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist is a former star in the PRIDE FC heavyweight division. He is coming off of a submission victory over Aleksander Emelianenko at the 2H2H: "Pride & Honor" show that took place in Holland in November 2006.
Werdum is also the jiu-jitsu coach for current UFC heavyweight contender Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic.
In about one hour UFC 70 got real good real fast.
The acquisition of Werdum, however, means great things for the now crowded heavyweight division long after April 21.
