Drew Fickett vs. Keita Nakamura at UFC Fight Night 9

Drew Fickett and Keita Nakamura
Welterweights Drew Fickett (27-5) and Keita Nakamura (13-1-2) will fight at UFC Fight Night 9 on April 5 at The Pearl in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to UFC.com.

Both fighters will look to get back on the winning track after losing their most recent bouts at UFC Fight Night 7 in December.

Fickett is a UFC veteran with six fights in the Octagon (3-3) since making his debut in 2005. He most recently lost a hard-fought unanimous decision to Karo Parisyan (16-4).

With other fights against Josh Burkman (loss), Josh Koscheck (win), Josh Neer (win) and Nick Diaz (loss), Fickett has established himself as a dangerous opponent against some of the stiffest competition in the division.

He also holds notable wins over other current UFC fighters such as Edwin DeWees and Kenny Florian. Fickett is just wildly inconsistent.

Nakamura is a Japanese professional Shooto fighter who made his UFC debut against Brock Larson at the end of 2006. "K-Taro" was also on the wrong end of a unanimous decision and will look to pick up his first UFC win against Fickett.

Im torn b/c I want to see K-TARO win but I dont want to see Fickett lose. One more loss and Fickett is WEC bound. I guess thats not a bad thing.

This fight was bullshit. Fickett was on his way out and because rules are so arbitrary about elbows being directed downward versus horizontally, the ref stopped the fight to allow him to rest. If there wasn’t this bullshit rule, fight would have been over.
