UFC 70: Michael Bisping vs. Elvis Sinosic?

ufc 70 michael bisping vs Elvis Sinosic
The dreadful rumors that UFC light heavyweight contender Michael Bisping (12-0) will face off against Elvis Sinosic (8-9-2) at UFC 70 on April 21 appear to be accurate, according to MMAWeekly.com.

On paper, it appears to be a marked mismatch.

Sinosic, whose nickname — The King of Rock n Rumble — is perhaps worse than his career mixed martial arts record, sports a ghastly 1-5 record inside the Octagon.

In his defense, the 36-year-old Australian has been up against some of the top fighters in the game, losing bouts to studs such as Tito Ortiz, Evan Tanner, Frank Shamrock, Renato "Babalu" Sobral" and Forrest Griffin.

Regardless, the match up with Bisping is poor and does nothing to build The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season three champion as a force to be reckoned with in the 205-pound class.

At best, Bisping gets a highlight reel stoppage that is immortalized on the next "Ultimate Knockouts" DVD. At worst, he loses to a journeyman in front of a hometown crowd in Manchester, England.

Can't wait.

I think whatever fire Bisping had coming from TUF Season 3 is quickly dissipating. After all the nonsense we’ve had to endure with his injury and Visa issues, we should see him more competitively matched. Bisping doesn’t have any momentum going for him since Shamrock/Ortiz is (mercifully) over and his matches against Haynes and Schafer were for the most part forgettable. I would rather see Bisping versus Hamill in a grudge match to settle the beef from the armbar/training incident during TUF 3. Loser makes the other a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Dana: Don’t give Bisping a freebie just because he is fighting in front of a bunch of drunk Brits. Make Bisping earn all his hype.

Fighters need to demand that they can say NO (within the contract) to lemon fights like this. Shame on the UFC for stringing out the good fights.

Isn’t Sinosic’s record actully 1-6 because he lost to Alessio Sakara.

Even the TUF newbs are going to realize this is a lame match-up. I’d rather see him fight Eastman, if the UFC is going to give him a born-loser.

Sinosic has six fights in the UFC, he’s 1-5 based on my research. The Shamrock fight was in K-1, maybe that’s confusing things.

yeah, and then after he fights sinosic lets have him fight bill mahood, and then stephan bonnar….untill he gets tough guys…oh wait, thats what happend with forrest. I get why his fights were like that, just to show that the TUF guys could beat actual UFC fighters. But now that we know that with Bisbing, i think he should get tougher competition …atleast so we dont keep seeing basically the same fights over and over

If you guys look farther than his fightfinder you’d know Elvis is a better fighter than his record might show. This is a very good matchup between two popular fighters and will probably be the fight of the night.

he might be a good fighter, but as far as the ufc goes why is he still getting fights against fan favorites and top contenders. If Fedor comes over to UFC and has the same UFC record as Elvis, i wouldnt want to see him fight top contenders still…nothing against elvis, i just think they can give bisping a fight that can draw a little more attention

Are you kidding me???…..Elvis Sinosic…..He’s fucking terrible…..1-5…..but he beat Jeremy Horn…..hahahaha……that’s a tough blemish on Horn’s insanely huge record……..He beat Chuck Liddell…..but lost to Elvis Sinosic……now theres something nobody else could ever say

Are you people insane if Sinosic wants to sign on to be a punching bad then so be it. Bisping is an excellent fighter that needs to fight nobodies before he earns the chance to move up. You’ll soon see him contending with the likes of superstars such as Ortiz and griffin and even within the next year maybe the champion.

Bisping is alright, but I don’t like any of the fighters who came out of the Ultimate Fighter. They’re cocky and aren’t very good fighters. Well at least they’re better than Sinosic.

i think ever one should get of both their backs for one whats the point in puting bisping straight in with the likes of chuck or top contenders straight away hes got to build his record up to get better then when he feels hes ready then yes fight the top contenders until then give him a break hes new to the ufc

DON’T COUNT OUT NOBODY. ANYONE CAN WIN ON ANY GIVEN NIGHT, LUCK HAS A WAY WITH BEING LUCKY. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE BISPING LOSE. MAYBE THEN HE’D SHUT HIS ARROGANT MOUTH.

I’m going to be ringside at this event and I’m nowhere near as gutted as the rest of you seem to be. The sad truth is that Sinosic’s record doesn’t really reflect his capabilities in competition. 99% of MMA fighters would have the same record if you put them up against the competitors which Sinosic has come up against. Horn, Shamrock, Matsui, Sobral, Tanner, Ortiz etc. I mean, come on! These are some of the best the sport has ever known. To reach a level where you get to face names like this is impressive, even if you lose consistently. I still think Bisping will win because he has an impressive background in combat sports and has shown plenty of raw potential but experience counts and when it comes to MMA he is lacking, especially compared to Sinosic. Anyone who thinks this will be a walkover for Bisping clearly hasn’t done their homework.

it gettin close now i think elvis must be kakin his pants coz hes gonna get his head smashed like a melon with a sledgehammer.the ufc may have its first death on its hands or if hes lucky mabey just their first serious injury.

I think Bisping is a Good fighter/brawler, he will win Elvis.
But he is not at the moment a great fighter. He is too aggressive too full on and runs out of gas quickly, just watch any of his fights. When he comes up against a great fighter and he doesnt get lucky in thefirst round, then he will easily be KOd or submitted in the later rounds.
When he loses his fisrt big fight he will quit as he doesnt have the real desire to be the best. But I like him and I hope he proves me wrong.

‘michael…..’" shut his arrogant mouth"
Bisping arrogant? your a muppet mate! I know Mick personally. He’s a great guy that really doesn’t deserve your half assed ill informed crap.Ive seen this guy in a variety of situations where his reputation as a mixed ma fighter could have been used to get status. He never has, nor I believe would. So dude crawl back under your stone and give the guy a break. As for not getting the juicy bouts some people want to see….thats how it works. He’s still in the process of actually proving himself as a serious leading card apponent. He does’nt and UFC management probably dont believe he has the necessary experience to challenge the seasoned pro’s who have been doing it years and have a wealth of experience and still occupy top flight positions. It’ll come with more bouts then….whoop…. you’ll see what this guy can really do!
