Cro Cop tries to get UFC work in Vegas

The UFC is on the verge of its biggest announcement in front of its biggest audience.
Reports and rumors of Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic — the PRIDE FC 2006 Open Weight Grand Prix Champion — joining the UFC have been downright draining for the past month.
Earlier this week, however, it became rather evident that the superstar heavyweight will sign a UFC contract (to read the posts click here and here). Now, we're receiving even more good news from FightNetwork.com.
Here's the latest update on the Cro Cop to the UFC saga:
Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) executive director Keith Kizer confirmed today that his agency has filed a petition with U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services seeking approval for Cro Cop to compete in UFC 67 on February 3. The UFC has yet to request NSAC approval for a potential opponent.
Dave Meltzer from WrestlingObserver.com has also confirmed that Cro Cop is in Las Vegas. And, I don't think he flew all the way from Croatia to play a little Texas Hold ‘Em.
I'll contain my zeal and thoughts until the moment of truth later on tonight.
Is it 10 p.m. yet?

CroCop and Rampage Jackson will certainly stir things up in the UFC. I think its great that the UFC has become so successful that they can recruit fighters from Pride. I watched an interview with Dana White where he mentioned that he bought the UFC for a couple million…no its worth in excess of $125m! God Bless the USA!
