Upcoming UFC television explosion

Rachelle Leah

As if I don't get all the UFC-related information one person could handle reading news clips, checking out MMA Web sites, and dipping into various forums, the next four days will be chock full of UFC programming on SpikeTV and PPV.

It's sad to say, but I'll watch every second of it all.

Most, in part, is because of UFC 66, which is scheduled for this Saturday, December 30 at 10 p.m. EST.

The highly anticipated event, however, is going to run you upwards of $40. So, if you don't want to pony up the cash then I guess you ought to tune in to the free shows below ... cheapskate.

For your convenience, we always have the latest UFC programming schedule in the calendar in the right sidebar, as well as the UFC Schedule tab in the top navigation.

But, if that's too hard to figure out, we'll spell it out for you right now:

UFC 66 Countdown to Liddell vs. Ortiz 2 – Thursday, December 28 at 10 p.m.
If you've tuned into SpikeTV over the last month, checked out the official UFC 66 Web site, and watched the UFC 66: Liddell vs. Ortiz 2 predictions on UFC.com, then I'm guessing you've seen or heard most of this before. But, you still gotta tune in.

UFC 66 All Access: Chuck Liddell — Thursday, December 28 at 11 p.m.
This is must-see TV only because host Rachelle Leah will probably strip down to a bikini on the sandy California beaches. Oh, and it'll probably also be interesting to see how "The Iceman" and old school trainer John Hackleman prepare for Tito. I mentioned there's a good chance Rachelle Leah will probably appear in her skivvies at some point, right?

Inside the UFC — Thursday, December 28 at 11:30 p.m.
Tonight's episode will feature the Liddell-Ortiz II match up at UFC 66, as well as an exclusive interview with light heavyweight Forrest Griffin. According to UFC.com, we can also expect to see "a review of 2006 and a glimpse into September's Octagon debut of up and coming lightweight prospect Joe Lauzon." Note the time change -- the previous four episodes aired at midnite, but this one goes off at 11:30.

UFC Live and Inside — Friday, December 29 at 10 p.m.
This is the UFC 66 weigh in show from the MGM Grand Garden Arena. We'll get to see most of the fighters tip the scales, as well as savor the final staredowns before the big show. And, maybe we'll get to see Chuck flip off Tito again ... one of the funniest pictures around.

UFC Unleashed — Friday, December 29 at 11 p.m.
It looks like we'll be treated to the replay of Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin at UFC 59 earlier this year. Ortiz won via a controversial split decision. At the time, I agreed with the judges. I look forward to watching it again months later and sober to see if I still feel the same way.

UFC 66: Liddell vs. Ortiz II — Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 10 p.m. on PPV
Main Event: Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz

Undercard:
205 lb.: Forrest Griffin vs. Keith Jardine
Hvywt.: Andrei Arlovski vs. Marcio Cruz
185 lb.: Chris Leben vs. Jason MacDonald
205 lb.: Michael Bisping (11-0) vs. Eric Schafer (9-1-2)
185 lb.: Yushin Okami (18-3) vs. Rory Singer (10-6)
170 lb.: Thiago Alves vs. Tony DeSouza
Hvywt.: Carmello Marrero vs. Gabriel Gonzaga
Hvywt.: Anthony Perosh vs. Christian Wellisch

UFC Fight Night Marathon — Monday, January 1, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
If, after all this, you still didn't get your UFC fix ... go get a CAT scan. If the doctor says you're okay, then this lineup will help get you through that crushing New Year's Eve hangover:

UFC Fight Night: Assuerio Silva vs. Tim Sylvia (9 a.m.)
UFC Fight Night: Evan Tanner vs. David Loiseau (11 a.m.)
UFC Fight Night: Diego Sanchez vs. Karo Parisyan (1 p.m.)
UFC Fight Night: Anderson Silva vs. Chris Leben (3 p.m.)
UFC Fight Night: Stephan Bonnar vs. Keith Jardine (5 p.m.)

Got all that? Enjoy, maniacs.

The fight is over! And if you are like me you must have mixed emotions about this one.First! The Brisbane Hamill fight. Did you people watch the same fight I watched? I like both guys. I didn’t have a dog in this fight but, Hamill got screwed something awful! I can’t believe that during that entire fight Joe and Mike were announcing how Hamill was just dominating Brisbane. And he was! That guy is like a lumbering robot who’s button gets pushed at the begining of the fight and he comes forward with no other thought process but, “Beat up guy in here with me, beat up guy in here with me” I just do not understand that decision? It was so bad that it makes me wonder…Bribery? Blackmail? Terrorist threats? Kidnapped their families? Dating their daughters? Homosexuality? What could have possessed the judges to come to the decision they came to?? Then there is the main event. After all the hype it seemed lackluster. They are both great fighters, but they both seemed tentative. After a certain point the fitigue becomes so great that it is hard for either one to really hurt the other, and that seem to be the case in this fight. What do you all think? Am I right in my analysis or a complete orfice at the end of a colon?

Anyone whose face is bleeding and whose feet were so nervous throughout the fight he looked like a chicken running from a rooster should accept a rip-off decission with his mouth shut. The manner in which Bisbane bragged about his skills makes me wonder if he got hit harder than I thought because he made no sense. The “Count” should watch the film and count how often he got smacked, taken down and just plain beat. Mike: Matt Hamil WHOOPED your ass my friend!
