Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson to fight Marvin Eastman at UFC 67
Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (25-6-0) signed a two-fight deal with the UFC today and will make his Octagon debut against Marvin Eastman (13-6-1) at UFC 67 on February 3, according to Sherdog.com.
Here's a snip:
Jackson's deal, which runs through July 2007, reads similar to the one he signed with the WFA in March, including bonuses for pay-per-view and other items not normally associated with UFC deals.
This is further proof that Sam Hoger is a total ass. In fact, he should kill himself.
After news of Jackson fighting on the Super Bowl weekend card emerged, Hoger distributed a curious message on MySpace and in forums designed to mislead fans that he would fight a "striker" in February (for background click here).
Well, apparently it's not Jackson.
Whatever.
In typical UFC fashion, Rampage's first fight is a rematch. More than six years ago, Jackson and Eastman squared off at King of the Cage 4. Eastman went on to win the fight via the judges scorecards.
And ever since, Rampage has looked to avenge the loss.
Here's a snip from a classic Rampage interview with ThrowdownFightGear.com:
I want to rematch people that beat me! I want Marvin Eastman, I want Wanderlei Silva three –four times, I want Shogun I even want the old ass Sakuraba! Tell Dana to hook me up with some these guys. If I have to fight Chuck to fight some of these guy's, so be it. I'll break the ice.
We can't wait to see Rampage walk into that Octagon — he's a beast. It just sucks we don't get to see him annihilate Sam Hoger.
He sucks so bad.
Note: Jackson's manager and trainer — Juanito Ibarra — confirmed the deal Friday evening and doesn't expect a rematch between Rampage and UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell before July.
